What an amazing musician... Great night, thanks Nils!
Fantastic! Nils is such a master of his craft. We especially loved the tapdancing part of the show. Great event!
Great show Nils was smokin, would highly recommend!!!
Such a talented musician!! It was his opportunity to showcase his individual skills separately from the E-Street Band. The bar crowd was too noisy during the performance which was very distracting.
Nils at the legendary stone pony is a must see. Any artist of nils' stature would be a worthy outing because of the intimacy of the pony's size. Although my best friend and I were at the back against a railing, we had an overall good view of the stage because it wasn't more than 20' away. The sound was very good. My only complaint would be the poor quality of the video screen that was on beside the stage. It was such a blurry image because of the way the lighting was with the spotlights the image was all washed out. Again, we were fortunate to be able to see pretty well regardless but there were times it would have been helpful to have a clear view of the screen. Hopefully thats something they'll address. I've seen at least one other show at the stone pony and it's legendary status in the history of new jersey music is worth the trek. The asbury park boardwalk is slowly making a comeback and my hope is it will continue to thrive not only up and down the boardwalk but to the city itself which greatly needs and deserves it.
I've been seeing Nils in concert since the mid 70's. Been a fan since I was 15. He is an amazing talent and it's always great to see him perform a mix of old and new. I had never been to the Stone Pony before so I may have been unprepared for the type of crowd. It seemed at least half the people there were talking most of the show, even the ones standing close to the stage. Everyone was friendly, just way too chatty. This made it very difficult to enjoy the show. Also, opening act (Patty Patton) was sedate,
Nils was brilliant as usual . It was a nice treat to see this wonderful guitarist /singer songwriter in such an intimate venue. Nils did a great acoustic version of the National Anthem in honor of Veterans Day. He played a nice long 2 hour set filled with his classic hits
Amazing 2 plus hours of everything from great story-telling to awesome guitar sounds to heartbreaking songs and even tap dancing !!!!
A truly magical night. Both acoustic and electric. SO GOOD!
Great show all around, small venue, great crowd and the man can play guitar!
What a show! The quality of Nils Lofgren's show makes you realize that this artist has been at this high level of performance for a long time, and yet he still maintains that 'leave it all on the stage' ethic and commitment that few artists can make last for 3 years, let alone 3 decades plus! He begins the show with some unexpected artistry on an unexpected instrument...amazing! The surprises just kept coming...brilliant guitar work, stellar vocals, then off to keyboards, all combined with his lively showmanship...this is to be expected from Nils. And sideman Greg Varlotta adds the quality musical support (and a couple of surprises of his own!) that Nils floats upon for most of the concert. But the amazing TAP DANCING...!!! I'll say no more.
Nils put on a great show, the song selection was great, the sound was really good and the interaction with the crowd was great and added to the show. It looked like Nils was really enjoying himself and the dance floor he had set up for I came to dance was a nice touch and was fun to watch. Nils' voice was in good form as well. If he comes to your area you should definitely make an effort to see him as he was well worth the price of admission. I also liked the BB King club as it makes for a nice forum to see a show at. The only downside was that the screen they had was not high quality but since my seats were really good as are most seats there you didn't really need to look at the screen to enjoy the show.
Fantastice to see Nils Lofgren perform in New York city. A true guitar legend who put on a performance at the top of his game. Looking forward to him coming to Ireland.
What a great show! Nils is always a master performer and impeccable musician and this show is also a lot of fun with the tunes his fans love plus some added surprises. Greg Varlotta is great as a multi-talented sideman.
Nils was, as ever, the ultimate virtuoso. After a self-proclaimed 42 years of professional musicianship, he remains as dedicated to his craft as ever. This is why he was such a perfect fit for the E Street Band; his passion for music is on display for all to see. With luck, it will be for a long time to come. B.B. King's was a great venue for this type of show.
nils was in great form. i have seen nils perform live solo for over 30 years and this ranks up there with one of the best shows i have seen. very energetic and his voice sounded great.
Totally amazing! He played awesome guitar, sang and touched the souls of everyone in the room! Nils interacted with the audience and playfully joked around a little bit which I thought was great. He played the electric harp, several acoustic guitars, electric guitar and electric organ. I was very happy that he played some of his early material, solo material and he even did a Bruce Springstein song. In all he played for about 2 hours and 20 minutes and he even tap danced along with his partner. Black Book, Mud in your eye and Keith Don't Go were my favorites.
Up close and personal, great sound, the dancing was fun. His friend was fabulous!
Nils Lofgren is absolutely amazing. His amazing personality shines though each and every song he writes, sings and performs. All you have to do is spend an evening listening and watching him and you can see why so many of the biggest stars in the music business want to him to perform with them.
