About

Nicky Jam in Concert

It's impossible to talk about the world's most viewed YouTube clips without Nicky Jam's name coming up. The reggaetón master has three videos with more than a billion total views. "El Perdón" (with Enrique Iglesias) and "El Amante" have more than 1.2 billion plays each, and his 2018 single with J. Balvin, "X," has well over 1.5 billion plays.

As he readies for 2019's Intimo Tour, Nicky Jam has already played on the world's biggest stages. He's made Chile's Viña del Mar International Song Festival somehow seem intimate with his stadium performance of "El Perdón." He's been watched by millions of American households alongside Balvin on the The Tonight Show. And he broadcast to billions worldwide at the World Cup alongside Will Smith and Era Istrefi with the tournament's official song, "Live It Up," during the final match extravaganza in Moscow.

The songwriter has a number of hits under his belt, none bigger than the 4x diamond-certified "El Perdón," which was No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs Billboard for an exceptional 30 weeks and won Song of the Year at the Latin Music Awards. A master collaborator, Nicky Jam featured Sean Paul, Wisin, Daddy Yankee, Iglesias, and Balvin on his latest album, Fénix, and recently released the track "Jaleo" with Steve Aoki.

Nicky Jam Background

Born Nick Rivera Caminero in Boston, Massachusetts, to a Dominican mother and Puerto Rican father, Nicky Jam moved to Puerto Rico with his family when he was 10. He was soon discovered, and he released his first album when he was 14.

The singer later met his idol Daddy Yankee, who became a mentor of sorts, and in the late 1990s the pair formed the short-lived group Los Cangris. Jam moved to Medellín, Colombia, in 2007 and was influenced heavily by the community and by Colombian vallenato music.

Where reggaetón was going electronic, Jam focused on vocal melodies and reggae rhythms, and his 2017 comeback album, Fénix, put him squarely at the top of the Latin pop and reggaetón heaps. Along with frequent touring shows, Jam appears in the movie XXX: Return of Xander Cage and raps on the film's soundtrack.

    Disorganized

by Rachel on 4/17/22Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Nicky Jam as an artist was amazing. Now, the venue (Coca Cola colosseum) was the most disorganized arena. Fans literally swarmed the gate all trying to squeeze their way into the arena. During a time where COVID is a constant threat, the organizers of this concert could have been just a little organized for the sake of the city and fans attending the concert. I would never attend another concert at the Coca Cola colosseum.

    Awesome show!

by Jenny on 4/17/22Place Bell - Laval

Really organized. Staff was great but because the show wasn’t on time. People including myself crowded the bar and the staff was doing their best but clearly overwhelmed by patrons so hopefully think ahead and have more help for them or more bars! Especially at a show where people love to dance abs need drinks lol

My first concert since this pandemic started

    by A on 4/17/22Place Bell - Laval

This was my first concert that I was attending since Covid started. I love the atmosphere, and Nicky Jam was great he has some classic song mixed with some new songs. Once he started singing I could not help but dance the during the whole show.

Great show but a bit too short

by Bancika on 4/17/22Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Show was amazing, performance was great, my only problem was that I believe, in my humble opinion, that the show was too short... There was no pre-show and Nicky Jam was on stage for about 90mins before thanking everyone for coming and wishing everyone a good night. Event is something I'll get to check off my bucket list, but will I buy tickets to see him perform again...? Probably not

Everything was amazing! The music was perfect, the view from my seat was very good and Nicky Jam was fantastic. Only downside was that I couldn’t buy any merch.

    Not bad

by Sandj on 4/16/22Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The concert was ok, not the best concert I’ve been too. It was an hour late to start and I purchased good tickets and was surrounded by people who purchased cheap seats and came down to stand on the floor next and in front of me causing me to feel crowded.

    Awsome!!!

by Graeme Kaudewitz on 4/16/22Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Amazing show.!!! Would definitely go again. Reasonable pricing too. The venue was a pain because no cash and took long at beer lines but still 100% worth it. I will go back again. Amazing artist. Sounds true to his music. Definitely would do it again. Just hard to deal with the event coordinators at that venue. I wish i could have gotten a meet and greet. I respect where he came from and made it to thos level.

    Love Him!

    by D. Z. on 4/11/22

I have nothing bad to say about Nicky! I absolutely LOVED HIS CONCERT!! I've been a fan for over 20 years and enjoyed every minute of the songs he performed! At the end of the concert, everyone yelled for one more song and he came back to sing one more song. I loved how be performed songs of now and wayyyyy back when he started! The only thing I HATED was that people who had back seats all rushed to the front and security couldn't get them under control. I payed to be up close and for a few songs all these people were blocking the view. If they wanted to be closer, they should've paid like the rest of us! Wamu Theater needs to do a better job with keeping people in their assigned seats.
