Nick Jr - Kids will love it!

by RacinBandit2 on 3/3/10Bryce Jordan Center - University Park

You know your child enjoyed the show when we asked which story you enjoyed the most; Kai-Lan, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, or Dora and she said all of them! She even liked Moose A. Moose so much that she purchased his plush doll as her souvenir.

    Full costumes are much better!!

by disappointed8 on 3/3/10Bryce Jordan Center - University Park

This was definitely for the younger group 4 & under. My 5 year old and many other parents that I talked to said their children felt the same way...... the kids aren't used to seeing a persons face in the costume. To them the full costume is more realistic. They don't want to see a strangers face, they want to see the character they love and are used to watching. MOST of all, the commercials on TV always showed the characters, never what the show whould really be. Very misleading and disappointing. It's a lot of money to spend, if your going to do a show, make it full costumes.

Dora and Friends was a good family event

by cka104 on 3/3/10Bryce Jordan Center - University Park

We were impressed by the costumes and some of the props. They had bubbles and smoke which really made for a nice show. Very nice entertainment for pre-schoolers. I would recommend this to others. They had a long intermission in the middle which left plenty of time for a potty break and snack time.

    Good show, but needs more....

by prthugrl on 3/3/10Bryce Jordan Center - University Park

I think that the show was good overall but it needed more of character details added to it. I think that it should of been actual characters instead of normal people dressed as the character. I also think that the voices should of been from the shows - and not the voices of the actors. My daughter is 20 months old and is obsessed with Dora, but she didn't really realize that Dora was on stage untill the Dora theme song played - the voices were not the same and the character didn't look like Dora either.

Storytime was very cute. Had a large variety of characters for all kids to enjoy. My son loved the Backyardigans, especially!

    Great Job

by lholewinski on 3/2/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

This was my favorite children's show that I've seen so far, and I've seen alot! My 3 year old daughter loved it! To have all of those characters on one stage was great. The Wonder Pets were a little odd looking with the animal attached to the person playing them, but it didn't seem to bother my daughter. At the end she didn't want to leave she wanted to stay and watch it again! She still talks about it and acts it out, and we saw it 3 weeks ago!

    nickelodeon storytime live

    by mia34 on 3/2/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

I took my 4 year old daughter and my mother. My daughter was so excited she was yelling and dancing and having so much fun. My mother actually like it to even though she didn't know who half the characters were. I really enjoyed it myself. The actors did a really good job and they interacted with the children by asking them questions like do you see this letter or who name starts with this sound.

    Nice Show

by IndiJa on 2/27/10Stranahan Theatre - Toledo

My 3 year old and I drove from Metro Detroit to see the show, because at the time that I bought tickets, Detroit was not on it's list of stops (which they recently added, but not coming until april). She enjoyed the 2nd act (wonder pets & dora) more-so than the 1st. She even attempted to make a new friend on the way into the theatre. I thought it would be cool if she could see the characters that she watches on tv every day up close & maybe shake a hand or two, but, unlike Sesame Street Live (which we saw on super bowl sunday), they never did come off the stage. I wish they could've interacted with the kids, if only for a brief moment. Kids like things like that. Other than that, I believe that a lot of kids will enjoy this show.

Nickelodeon Presents is no Sesame Street

    by 1jyoung on 2/26/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

My 5 year old son seemed to like the show. I was dissapointed that the characters faces were not covered. They wore the costume with faces showing, which took away from the illusion we were watching the (actual) character . We had 3rd row center seats and we could see the arm of the actor playing the "Z" character which was simply a small puppet on the arm of an actor. The Wonder Pets didn't even sing their theme song. We saw Dora but where was Diego??? And what about Dora's backpack? It was not featured and I didn't hear the "backpack" song. And I dont know why but kids seem to just love Spongebob Squarepants. Well he was absent from the show. I told my son that he was at another show for other kids and thats why he couldnt make it. I say save your $ for Sesame Street. They get it right, In Full Costume.

    Learned 2 new charachters!

by crazyboys on 2/24/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

My boys love The Backyardigans and The Wonderpets, but never watch Dora (and I have to say I have never been a fan of Dora) or Ni Hao, Kai-lan. The boys really enjoyed all four of the stories, and I have to say, I, not being a Dora fan, liked Dora the best!

A great show for preschool children. Very good pacing, intermission, and overall interest with lights and props. Thanks for also having kid events!

    cute show but overpriced

by momofohiogirls on 2/24/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

Went to the show last night with my 3 yr old daughter. The show starts off with Moose A Moose talking to the audience. Kai Lan followed. My daughter loved this portion of the show. The actors were animated and fun to watch ! The BackYardigans were next and my daughter laughed throughout this part, although the storyline was a little over her head. The singing was good ! The wonder pets followed and we both lost interest. I wasn't impressed with the animals that the actors had to manipulate and the storyline was not great. The show closed with Dora which is her favorite ! Dora and Boots were cute and did a nice job. Story was okay. Overall, the show was cute and my daughter enjoyed it but not sure that it was worth the money ($25 plus all the fees)

For some reason "map" was changed from a male to female. My kids were terribly confused by this. Also the costumes from the Wonder Pets segment was weird. They could have dropped that whole segment and it would have been better. It ran almost two hours, which was hard on the little kids. It was after 9 by the time we got out. The KaiLan and Backyardigans segment was well done.. My 2 yr old about had a heart attack when Uniqua came out. My kids loved it so it was worth it.

Show was very cute and age appropriate

by Averysmommy on 2/24/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

My 2 year old daughter enjoyed this show very much. She was very attentive during the whole show except the part with the wonderpets. This surpised me because the wonderpets are her favorite. I feel she knew that the people behind them were controlling the animals and that caused her to not pay as much attention to them. Otherwise she couldn't take her eyes off the show. Our family enjoyed the show very much.

    nick jr storytime live!

    by ashes4002 on 2/24/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

It was a great show, the kids got to be very invloved. The only thing I was disappointed in was the Wonder Pets part of the show, they could have found a better way to make the characters for this show. My son wasn't very interested in that part of the show. He was for the rest though. I would take him again and I would recommend this live show to anyone who has children that watch Nick Jr.

    Nickelodeon was amazing!

    by silly419 on 2/24/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

This was an amazing event. I took my 2-1/2 yr old daughter and she loved it! She can't sit still for anything. When Moose and Z came on the stage she stopped dead in her tracks and just stared. She laughed, screamed (in a good way) participated with the chacters songs and questions and had a fabulous time! I was so glad that we took her. The costumes were wonderful, the back drops were spectacular. It was a great time.

    Average Show

by Nickzodiac on 2/24/10Stranahan Theater - Toledo

The show was average. Sound quality was poor. Lighting was ok. Need to spend more time thinking about the plots and get kids more engaged just like the TV versions. My daughter wanted to take a picture with Dora, but the characters don't stick around for pictures!
