Nick gave a hilarious show with a kind message behind it all. The facility was beautiful and the food was great. The only downside was that the computers were down so we were unable to purchase any beverages. Overall the show was amazing!
The Kodak Center was an awesome venue for the show! The facility was very organized and the employees were great. Nick Offerman show was pretty good, my favorite part of the night was bye bye little Sebastian.
Way too political. Comedy should be entertainment, not what felt like a lecture. There were funny parts but compared to other comedians i have seen, it was quite boring.
Recently lost my job and things are getting tough but my daughter bought tickets to Nick's show months ago and it was a great night. Helped me forget my troubles for 90 minutes.Interesting, insightful, intelligent, sane, and funny man. Worth every penny spent. I highly recommend.
I did not really have any expectations when I bought the tickets. I like Nick’s work in Parks & Rec and the commercials, but did not know his comedy. I thought it was brilliant. He uses his unique character to challenge perceptions of masculinity and other stereotypes. The show is really smart and sensitive with a healthy dose of folk guitar and dick jokes. Weird and wonderful, strange and sweet. And for dessert a rousing rendition of Goodbye, Lil Sebastian including some audience participation. Awesome! It was a great 90 minutes!
Despite opening the show by saying he would stay away from politics (ironically I guess?), he spent the next 80 min on a politically fueled diatribe. If the "jokes" and songs were remotely funny most people could put aside the difference in politics. However, hitting on old news (Mike Pence and Brett Kavanaugh) just isn't funny anymore.
I guess I was expecting a little Ron Swanson to appear, but I'm super happy with straight Nick Offerman. He was hilarious and his delivery was perfect. I'm sure the conservatives in the audience were clenching their jaws but, meh, oh well!!! ha ha ha
Been at several events at state theater. Was surprised at the time it took to get into the venue at the 7:00 show but checking ID before entrance made the bar lines zoom! Need to figure out how to make it go quicker
Nick Offerman was wonderful—insightful, ironic, musical!!!, creative, and real. I laughed harder than I have in a long time. However, I also left with a twinge of sadness because, while it felt good to laugh at some of the ridiculousness in our society, it was sobering to think how real it is. Offerman has great stage presence, great delivery and timing, and it’s worth going to hear him laugh!!!
Funny, down-to-earth and talented, Offerman delivers a mix of jokes and social commentary in dry, witty, Everyman language that just makes him so darn likeable. Bonus points for quality writing and mediocre guitar playing ;)
Nick Offerman's show was funny, dark, sad at times, yet surprisingly realistic of the state that our country is in today. His theme of "let people be themselves and stop being so judgy on their lives" was made clear throughout his sketches and songs. But I could not find myself enjoying the show because the venue decided to pack us in like cattle going to slaughter. The folding chairs were so close to each other that people were spilling into my seat from both sides. I actually had to sit on one of my hips and tilt my body sideways to not be squished into the people sitting next to me. I had to sit like that for the entirety of the show, a whole 2 hours long..... That pretty much ruined the whole thing for me.
I had high hopes for this show. Nearly every line was political and not landing. Listen to the crowd. If 30% of your audience is enjoying the show, you may need to go back to the drawing board. Thank you for taking my money to white shame me for 2 hours!
Great experience! Nick Offerman is hilarious! I did not expect many songs, but he has a great voice and is a talented guitar player. I enjoyed every one. The show makes you think while being so so funny!
Not funny, guy totally into himself, totally one sided point of view, unnecessarily raunchy, not clever or balanced at all, just angry and negative - don’t waste your money
Bartenders were great! Venue is beautiful! Nick Offerman though...no bueno
Wasn't sure what to expect but to see Mr. Offerman take the stage with such confidence and assured masculinity, I was certain that we were in for a treat. At first, his sarcasm blew over my head with off color jokes but soon I understand and enjoyed my time considerably. My husband, normally seen as a stoic or stern man, laughed heartily and nodded his head in approval multiple times throughout the night. All in all, money well spent. Thank you!
The first half was somewhat funny, but the second half turned into nothing more than Nick preaching about his social, religious, and political beliefs. Nick’s act is a self-indulgent waste of time that no one would care about if he were not on Parks and Recreation.
Nick Offerman never disappoints! His jokes are smart and witty, and he mixes in songs throughout the night to change the tempo.
Such a great show! First, getting tickets was simple and convenient. Two days before the show I was able to get a ticket front and cener , 5th row! (This was a second added show). Nick's performance was funny, insightful, and inclusive. All the while he could poke fun at our human foibles. I would definitely love to see him perform again. And I am so appreciative of the venue. I am glad the State Theater in Kalamazoo has been preserved and offers such a variety of performances, from movies, to concerts of all varities of music. All around it was a highly entertaining event.
