I thoroughly enjoyed the Gershwin-packed "Nice Work If You Can Get It" this past Saturday. The comedy was fun, the voices were great, and the staging & colors dazzling. Plan to see it the next time around!

Wow! NIce Work is a Joyful Show

by FelineMan on 1/27/15Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Nice Work had just left Broadway and you can be skeptical how good a touring company will be. But I was quite surprised how good the acting for the entire cast was for this production. I was especially overwhelmed how good the voice of Billie, played by Mariah MacFarlane was. Of course, you would think a show with a score by George and Ira Gershwin, could rest on its laurels, but the cast made the show that much more enjoyable. The orchestra was delightful and the scenery did not distract from the show. For a good time - great music, great acting and comedy, I highly recommend this play.

Thin plot, but it strings Gershwin's songs along very well. Fun and some good laughs. Cast is talented and seem to enjoy pleasing us. I'd see it again.

We had an excellent time. We love Gershwin and we totally delighted with the show. We had a young man about 10 sitting behind us and he had a wonderful time too. I wondered if he would find it amusing but he laughed out loud and thought it was a hoot. The actors were wonderful and very accomplished.

    Loved it

by wizvkt on 1/25/15Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I love Gerschwin music and to see this all together in a muscal was phenomenal. I knew almost every song even though I don't think I ever saw it before... unless it was a movie as well.

Nice Work is a wonderful musical

by meltjr on 1/23/15Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I saw this musical when it was on Broadway and loved it then. I was indeed amazed at the quality of this performance - including the cast and the pit orchestra. We had five people in our party and the show was a hit for all. It goes without saying that the music is great. Then add the rich choreography and timely humor and you have a night to truly enjoy. This presentation was as much fun as the original show we saw in New York a couple of years ago.

Nice work if you can get it was a bummer

by OneViewer on 1/20/15Hershey Theatre - Hershey

Too bad the actors and actresses didn't have time to prepare for the performance ahead of time. It was very amateur. Disappointing for the price of the tickets and corny. Come on Hershey Theater......you've done a lot better than this.

Great show in Hershey! Very well-cast show. The second act is a non-stop laugh fest. Most fun I have had a show in a couple of years.

Good Show If You Can Catch It

by Osoooo on 1/20/15Hershey Theatre - Hershey

This was an unexpectedly good, funny show. It seemed to be a little forced and dry at the beginning, but was warmly enjoyable within 10 minutes. I'd see it again

    A NON EQUITY PRODUCTION...

by ChanceWayne on 1/20/15Hershey Theatre - Hershey

....and it shows. The only redeeming quality is the set. I've spent more enjoyable evenings attending college level musicals. The weak sounding orchestra consisted of seven musicians. My recommendation - buy the original cast recording if you have a yearning for hearing the Gershwin score.

Nice Work If You Can Get It was perfectly cast. All the performers did a wonderful job. My 16 year old son and 19 year old daughter loved it as did my husband and I. I loved that there wasn't any swearing or crudeness. The sound was excellent, I often miss a lot of what is said in plays but not this time. Even though it was very predictable it was so well performed that even though you knew what was coming it was still funny. Very well done. Kudos to all involved.
