About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season starting with the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic featuring the Florida Panthers hosting the New York Rangers at loanDepot park, on Jan. 2, 2026.

The 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic will mark the first-ever NHL regular-season outdoor game for the Panthers and the sixth for the Rangers, who hold an NHL-best 5-0-0 record in outdoor games. The NHL Winter Classic continues the tradition the League established in 2008 of hosting a regular-season outdoor game at the onset of the new year, with the 2026 edition marking the 17th NHL Winter Classic.

  • Not what was advertised or expected

by Jake on 1/3/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

To start closing off the first two sections from the field up is a must. Buying the tickets initially you see the Birds Eye view thinking you would be able to see it at a great angle and elevated enough. Well being in the 100 section and in lower sections the view was cut off considering the rink was built an extra foot and a half from the ground and how the angle baseball stadium seating is is it’s not as aggressive being not as steep as indoor arena seating that should be taken into account from ticket sellers and promoters as my seats were considered the “best view” but in all reality I couldn’t make out a players number unless in the closest corner or penalty box. I watched 95% of the game on the screen which I could have done at home. The seats were not as advertised and over priced to see pretty much nothing of a hockey game. Highly do not recommend.

  • Blackhawks suck

by DD on 1/3/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

It was an okay experience. Bad views of the ice, poor preformance by my hockey team, and cold rainy weather. Was fun but I would not do it again.

  • Hockey for fans

by Bearssoxcubshawks on 1/3/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This is truly a hockey event for the fans. It’s fun it’s electric entertaining fun in an atmosphere that isn’t like any other outdoors so dress for it! This event is for hockey fans but anyone can enjoy the fun. Will warn you baseball seats are not made for winter coats and being bundled up so you can be tight in your seats especially if you are surrounded by big men but that aside was the worst part everything else was just fun!

  • great event

  • 5th New Years NHL Game!!!

    by MSUDan82 on 1/3/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The rain stopped before game and 40933 fans were happy! Bars & Restaurants around Wrigley Field were BUSY...Kudos Bernie's Tap Room across from left field line. Was at 2009 Chicago, 2014 Ann Arbor, 2017 Toronto, 2024 Seattle and 2024 Chicago Winter Classic...Where will 2025 be???

  • Wrigley Field is not meant for hockey

    by Chris L on 1/3/25Wrigley Field - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

Wrigley Field is not meant for hockey. They're are no seats in the stadium that will give you a good view of the action on the ice.

  • Best event in sports

by MR on 3/16/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The intros, the atmosphere, suspense, uniforms and pace. All around worth every penny spent for this sporting event.

  • Awesome

T mobile is the best baseball park and now it’s the best hockey park too! Awesome set up and always organized so well.

  • Great experience for me, for others I don’t know

by Lucario on 1/18/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Was a really fun event I was looking forward to since they announced it, the thoughts of watching the Kraken play a home game in my favorite stadium and place to go to T-Mobile Park/Safeco Field, was such a cool idea that I couldn’t wait to attend. The fan village they had before the game was a lot of fun, the stadium setup looked really cool, we had view level seats closer to where the Kraken shot twice at with a good view of the entire rink. Hearing Nirvana and the ferry horn being blasted for every goal was one of the things I was looking forward to hearing at the Winter Classic, I personally have no complains about it, but I did have other people I knew and even people in the reviews saying their view wasn’t the greatest because of the way the rink was structured at T-Mobile Park, which is understandable, I would assume some seats main level would have hard times seeing the action because the main level seating was level with the lower boards of the rink, and there may have been some other things may have been in the way of the view of the puck and the action. I suggest if your team gets a Winter Classic, I would keep in mind when buying lower level seats that your view might be obstructed. I would advise buying a seat in a higher level so that it might be a little easier to see. All in all the event was far beyond my personal expectations. Although there are things that you should keep in mind when buying your tickets (obstruction stages, etc)

  • 2024 Winter Classic

by Go Knights Go! on 1/16/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 2 out of 5

Bought tickets down low to be close to the action and couldn’t have been more disappointed. Couldn’t see. The boards blocked the view and had to watch o the big screen to see where the puck was. What a waste.

  • Winter Classic

    by Lisa D. on 1/11/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the Winter Classic game ! The whole event was fun. I had managed my expectations, since the rink was oriented a bit odd in relation to the crowd, but turned out we could see better than expected from section 345 (3rd level third base side). Only pain point was the food lines were long and not moving well for Hemplers. We switched to Ivars and that was much better.

  • Winter Classic Wonderland

by TGODMOM on 1/10/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

My family chose to forego Christmas presents to attend two sports events in Seattle and make memories instead and it was definitely a hit!!! The Winter Classic stole the show for sure!! The environment was electric!!! The scenery was on point and all the nods to the great Seattle athletes was a very special tribute!! Couldn’t have asked for a better time!!

  • Game = great. Experience, not so much

by Hockeylover on 1/10/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

Looking forward to this once in a lifetime event, I can say that the three periods and intermissions of the game itself, were worth every penny we spent on these somewhat overpriced tickets. Also being local to the area and a family that attends many events at T-Mobile park throughout the year… We had much higher expectations. We did not purchase any food or drink, as we were hearing regularly - people have been waiting in line over 40 or 50 minutes just to get a drink or food. Many mentioned that it had it already sold out. Just getting to our seats took us nearly an hour, because the concourses were so packed with people. I chose not to use a restroom until the game was completely over because I didn’t want to chance missing part of the game by standing in line. Whether this falls on the NHL or on the local teams, they should’ve done much better with the expectation of a massive crowd, And a ballpark that could have otherwise supported and truly benefited both the city and the fans with better selections and opportunities for concessions. We would’ve purchased food and drinks based on the time of day and weather. In fact, we had budgeted for it and counted on it. Instead, we gave a different local business our money outside the field after the game.

  • 2024 Winter Classic experience

by PE on 1/10/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Tickets were easy to purchase, and having them on my phone meant I wouldn’t loose them. There was a Vendor Village before the event that I was notified about, but I did not receive a notice about a free concert and missed out on that. Getting into the event was also very easy. Plenty of vendors inside. Ticketmaster did adequately communicate with me via email all through the process. Very satisfied with the whole process.

  • Winter Classic is Great

by Person on 1/8/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Ticketmaster is a monopolistic organization that makes every event worse by existing. The Winter Classic was great, would recommend.

  • How amazing, what a game!

Fantastic event all around. Well done NHL! Definitely worth it.

  • What an experience

by JC on 1/6/24T-Mobile Park - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

The first winter classic at TMobile. The first experience for me to watch hockey outdoors was awesome. The energy of the crowd. The entertainment during intermissions. It was great. The only drawback was the lines. Concession lines were slightly ridiculous but thankfully there was no rule like at Climate Pledge where you cannot bring outside food. It was an awesome experience and the Kraken did not disappoint with a W. Though on the pricey side, this experience was awesome.

  • Incredible Experience

We had fantastic home plate seats with great visibility. The venue, entertainment, game, and environment were all amazing. This was an item on my adventure list and thr Winter Classic didn't disappoint.
