The Seattle Kraken will host the 2024 Discover NHL Winter Classic at T-Mobile Park on Jan. 1, 2024, against the Vegas Golden Knights.
The first NHL outdoor game in Seattle will pit the two most recent NHL additions against each other at the home of Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners. T-Mobile Park will be the 14th venue and eighth baseball stadium to host the NHL's premier regular-season event since it started in 2008.
The Kraken are in their second season since joining the NHL as its 32nd team for the 2021-22 season. The Golden Knights are in their sixth season, having joined the League for 2017-18.
The Kraken will become the 29th NHL team to participate in a regular-season outdoor game and the first Pacific Division team to host the Winter Classic, which has never been played west of the Central time zone. It will be the second for the Golden Knights, who played the Colorado Avalanche in the 2021 NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe on Feb. 20, 2021.
Fantastic event all around. Well done NHL! Definitely worth it.
The first winter classic at TMobile. The first experience for me to watch hockey outdoors was awesome. The energy of the crowd. The entertainment during intermissions. It was great. The only drawback was the lines. Concession lines were slightly ridiculous but thankfully there was no rule like at Climate Pledge where you cannot bring outside food. It was an awesome experience and the Kraken did not disappoint with a W. Though on the pricey side, this experience was awesome.
We had fantastic home plate seats with great visibility. The venue, entertainment, game, and environment were all amazing. This was an item on my adventure list and thr Winter Classic didn't disappoint.
The NHL undercut their presale offer price by $60 per ticket in section 141. Folks that bought a week or two before the game got better seats for a much cheaper price. That experience left a bad taste as a fan. Overpriced, overrated. Glad the Kraken won at least. I won't wast my money on a winter classic game again.
Had an absolute BLAST! T Mobile Park is a great venue to begin with but the transformation to the outdoor rink was next level! Swag and snacks were awesome! Pre-game and intermission entertainment was awesome!! The game was EPIC!!! It was cold but that didn't stop the sting of high-fives between every Kraken fan for each goal! Our Kraken extended and defended the Deep!!!
Loved the hockey game but the lines to get in and for food were aweful.
First ever Rainier Beer at an an NHL game, and Daccord got the first ever NHL Winter Classic shutout. JO-EY! JO-EY! JO-EY! All the hospitality was top notch too.
ABSOLUTELY amazing experience. I feel bad for anyone sitting in the outfield.. but my seats were amazing
The winter classic was a great thing to be apart of but yet I feel it was all over after the first period. Fireworks....heart.....then nothing no second period intermission helicopters to start and I get its not going to be as big in the end as in the beginning but I feel if you left after first period intermission you didn't miss anything. The fun and entertainment should have matched the ticket price. I've seen what I just watched at 100s of football games and I didn't pay anywhere near the price I did for the winter classic. Expected quite a bit more expecialy with how much momentum it started with it sure died out fast.
What an incredible NHL Winter Classic event in Seattle. The venue, entertainment, memorablilia, and our seats in the 300 level were all extraordinary. In addition to the Kraken win!!!
I’m a fan of both SEA and VGK, so as soon as I heard about the Winter Classic coming to Seattle I knew my husband and I were going. We got upper deck seats at center ice, which is our preferred spot for any hockey game. When we got to our seats, we were both surprised in a very good way that our seats were so good! We felt we got much more than we paid for. Everything else about the experience felt pretty similar to attending a Mariners game at T-Mobile park so that made things easy.
Terrific experience at the Winter Classic. Of course it helped that my team won, but there were many reasons I enjoyed the event. Pre-game music and flyover, fish throwing tunnel for team entrance, Heart at first intermission, Seattle sports stars at second intermission. Well done NHL and Seattle and Kraken!
What could I add, good weather, sold out venue, good food and entertainment. Frosting on the cake, we shut out the Stanley Cup Champs 3/0
What an awesome fan experience. Our seats were fantastic. The arena experience was great. The effort put into the ice/field design was apparent. Great job Kraken crew
The atmosphere was fantastic; great to be among the 47,000 fans at T-Mobile park. But our 4 tickets in the right field 100 level cost over $1200, and we could not see the rink! We needed to turn sideways to try to watch on a big screen. When we purchased tickets 5 months ago, we didn’t know where the rink would be. When spending money to see a sporting event the game should be visible! This was very disappointing.
My 10-y-o and I had a blast in the Seattle '24 Winter Classic, we love hockey and it was a great experience to see an NHL outdoors. Everything since entering the venue, the opening ceremony, the intermissions entertainment, the game itself was amazing. I'm giving 4 stars because I got a "meh"view to see the actual game, I constantly had to look at the big screen. I understand this is a baseball park with 47K people, but tickets weren't cheap.
Had experience like No other will definitely go to other Expirences like this.
The 2024 Winter Classic was a PERFECT experience for my family (Kraken Fans). Got great, close-in parking, got an upgrade of the seating at Customer Service, the fog lifted before the game, it didn't rain, the temperature was perfect for a hockey game....and, of course....the Kraken won via a shutout. That's about at PERFECT as it could get!
Fun experience and great lineup of entertainment outside of the hockey. The sound/speakers used were not great. The event should’ve tapped into the stadium speakers which provide a much better experience for both hockey & entertainment.
The Seattle Winter Classic atmosphere was amazing! Just to see the transformation from baseball to hockey was crazy! Seattle weather could not have been better. The roof was open and the fly over by the Search & Rescue team was so fun to see. Both of the teams Sweater designs were outstanding, and the entrance of the Kraken team was a kick with the fish tossing "tunnel". Heart played during the 1st intermission, wow they were great to see! My only complaint was not allowing clear plastic bags in the stadium as they do with the Mariners, Seahawks, or UW games, making it more difficult to bring in binoculars, rain gear or a blanket. The Kraken won with a shut out adding to the best day!
