Almost Perfect
by sabrwout on 2/13/24Metro Toronto Convention Centre - TorontoAt Christmas my nephew gifted me with 2 tickets for each of the 4 days of Fan Fair. The Mrs. and I rented a condo within walking distance of the Convention Centre and attended each day from beginning to (almost) the end. We collected several autographs, attended Q&A sessions, and met a lot of great people as we meandered the lines. A shout out to the several businesses including Cheetos, Pepsi, Oikos, and Tim Hortons, who kept us nourished and refreshed without charge. Top marks however, go to the Prince Edward Island All-star Clubhouse who seemed to serve up an endless supply of Cows ice cream, shucked oysters and fabulous lobster sliders. Thank you PEI!!!! Were it not for a silly policy - "Bags larger than 4"x6"x1.5"(the size of a small clutch) are prohibited"I would have rated the event a 5 star. (You can't carry many hockey books, cards or other hockey items in such a ridiculously small bag so ALLOW BACKPACKS) In addition I think the organizers could have provided a much more complete list of players who were signing 7 - 10 days prior to the event. Lastly the Mrs. and I would like to send best wishes for a speedy recovery to Lanny McDonald who graciously signed for us and several hundred other fans on Thursday the opening day of the Fair. Thank you Lanny for your time, the best wishes you extended to my wife, and for bringing smiles to so many of us.
