    Great draft expirence

by Jh80 on 7/3/13Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first draft party but I was pleasantly surprised. The locker room tours were fun and informative and the players were nice and personable. If I had one thing negative to say its that I felt there wasn't enough to do. Great expirence none the less

    Draft Party was disappointing

by Indigo88 on 7/3/13Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

The fact that the party wasn't organized was extremely frustrating. We waited on a LONG line to get Bobby Nystrom's signature. When he was pulled away for an interview (unbeknownst to us) we continued to wait with the rest of the fans. No one informed us that he walked away -- we only knew because suddenly he appeared on the Jumbotron! The kids were so disappointed as were the adults. We wasted an hour of our time!!! At least last year they had the decency to cap the lines at a certain point. That was a major letdown. Last year there were more players and this year, a handful.

    Draft Party

by Fanfrom80s on 6/25/12Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

I attended with a large group of friends. We had 9 children under the age of 11. Most of the kids are huge hockey fans. The event was largely a non event. The sound system is terrible, none of the announcements or commentary could be heard regardless of where you were standing on the floor. Selling Brooklyn T shirts only highlighted the teams impending exit from Nassau County. The give aways were worse than what is provided at a PTA meeting The lines for all activities were way too long. 45 minutes for the ferris wheel, 50 minutes for the locker room tour, 30 minutes for deck hockey.

Islanders draft party was a huge disappointment

by Ambrosius on 6/25/12Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

The Islanders did try hard- the season ticket holders section is a good idea but from there hanging banners blocked the view of the television screen. Last year soda was free;not this year. The sound system was so poor that Kinger could not be heard. This was supoosed to be coordinated with the john tavares "meet and greet;" Tavares was a no-show! Yes, I know he was"stuck on the tarmac." Would that excuse do for his missing a game? If his family event had been planned prior to that week-end,shouldn't the Islanders have known about it and not made his presence their drawing-card? We left before 7:00 and were able to watch the draft from home-which iswhere we'll probably watch it next year.

    Fun event - Speakers awful

by tomr33 on 6/24/12Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

I went with my 9 year old who had a blast with the stickhandling game and floor hockey. A puck shooting game would have topped it off. I'm really into the draft, and I was disappointed with the sound quality of the draft broadcast. I could barely understand what was being said. I was not thrilled with the Isles picking Reinhart at #4 and the Visnovsky tradewould have been a great pickup for a 2nd round pick if he was 4 years younger.

    NHL Draft Party

by DaBomb on 6/24/12Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

I was very disappointed with THIS YEAR's draft party. First of all, a couple of years ago it was not as crowded which I guess is a good thing but the Islanders organization must respond to the number of people entering the facility and the shear number of people out on the main floor. It was packed!!! When we got there for the meet and greet with John Tavares, we were directed to different locations. We were given two different colored bands which no one was able to tell why we got two. We were told that JT wasn't even going to be there because he got stuck on the tarmac in Toronto. If he knew the NHL Draft was that day and he was greeting the season ticket holders then why wouldn't he have gotten there a day earlier if need be. Would he have done the same if it were a game? Why disappoint the main people buying the tickets? Now we did get to meet Matt Moulson but when we got in no one knew where we were supposed to go to meet him. No signs, no direction, no nothing! We got a bracelet as were sent into the main arena with no information. We finally found it on our own behind a curtain in the corner of the building. Then we waited for 45 minutes on line before they let anyone enter. If I knew I would have to wait that long on line I would have enjoyed some of the events out on the floor first and came back later. I was originally told that I can only have two people in my VIP list even though I have two season tickets. The person in front of me getting their orange bands got six bands. When I asked why I can only get two the guy said I would have to speak to my rep. I had a women over by the offices text my rep so I can ask him about it but he never called me! No shocker there! Then I got up into the seats and TRIED to listen to what was being said on the screen but the sound was WAY TOO distorted from the speakers being used and the screen was not legible enough to read the names of the players being selected. It was a complete disaster as far as I was concerned. I think next year I'll just stay at home and watch it from the comfort of my own couch!!!

    Islander Draft Party

by Isles4ever on 6/24/12Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

I was really looking forward to this party. I was a little disappointed. It was overly crowded on the ice and really not much to do for adults. This event is great for children under 12. They had a ferris wheel and other games. The one thing I really liked was the locker room tour, that was really cool. I would have enjoyed it more if it was in a smaller setting,

    islander draft party

by demonprincess78 on 6/24/12Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

I went with my 5 yr old daughter, she had a great time! Alot of things for the kids to do, & alot of free give aways. My daughters favorite part was the indoor ferris wheel! Wasn't able to hear anything going on, on the big screens definitely needed to be louder. Would definitely go again next year!

    $$$$$????

by Gravel on 6/24/12Nassau Coliseum - Long Island

Poor decision to charge full price for parking to persons not going to the draft party, but going in to donate blood. Also, poor decision to raise the price AGAIN on the Blue and White scrimmage. Went from $5 to $10 last year, now to $20. This is not even a real game. But the parking charge really bugs me.

This was a great event for the fans. It has everything for the fans from rides for the children and beers for the adults. It also breaks up the off season with a trip to the coliseum in the summer for hockey. I am looking forward to next year.

Great to be with all the Islander fans and had an opportunity to get some great Islanders stuff at discount prices. Was hoping to see some Islanders alumni.
