New York Liberty History
The New York Liberty are one of three active founding franchises in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Liberty have made six WNBA Finals appearances, in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2023 and 2024, and topped the Eastern Conference seven times. In 2023, the team captured the in-season Commissioner's Cup behind a Finals MVP performance by Jonquel Jones, and later, Breanna Stewart became the first Liberty player to win the WNBA Most Valuable Player award. New York returned to the Commissioner’s Cup Final in 2024, but fell to the Minnesota Lynx. The two teams met again in the 2024 WNBA Finals, where the Liberty claimed their first title. Jones was named the series MVP, and after the season, Stewart was selected to the All-WNBA First Team while Jones and Sabrina Ionescu made the All-WNBA Second Team.

Go Liberty, best sports night ever. Would recommend.
The overall experience was amazing. They also keep the crowd engaged during the game
It was a good game. We were undefeated and it was the night before my 40th birthday. I’m a jinx, so I knew that the Liberty 🗽 would suffer their first loss of the season, with my presence. I opted for the cheaper seats, since I purchased so late, plus, I’ve been trying to save money. It wasn’t so much that my seat was bad, but, it was obstructed. Section 211, row 5. It was advertised as not being partial view, but, it was; I was only able to see one basket. It was my birthday, but, I let my friends have the better views, so I practically saw nothing, except on the screen 📺. It would have been nice if the black curtain/ partition were not down; that would’ve made the experience better. I’m not sure why it was down to begin with. Angel Reese and the Liberty 🗽 are a draw! It was the advertised full-view which irked me the most, but, once again, I am a jinx, I expected nothing more….
We had a great time. The venue was clean and most importantly the bathrooms were clean. Easy entry.
Tickets prices were great, seats were great, nice arena, excellent staff. Concession prices were ridiculous: 3 empanadas, 1 candy, 1 water for $34+! I’ll be back, but won’t be buying concessions again.
I loved the atmosphere the service the people. The game was awesome. The shows in between the game was awesome. Very clean bathrooms. Neat not enough stands open though and very expensive.
What an awesome atmosphere at the Barclay Center on Monday night. The Liberty put on a great show, better than the NBA game I went to last year. New York Liberty for the win.
Liberty games are the best value in NYC. Besides a great basketball team, the fans are wonderful and the vibe at Barclay’s is over the top. And a big shout-out to the new “Healthy” kiosk that is cheap by stadium standards and offers tasty food that is not deep fried.
The Liberty game was fantastic!!!!! The Barclays seats at the upper level are too steep and made me very very dizzy. I was scared I was going to fall and had to hold on.
Liberty are a great team and the experience was made fun and engaging with entertainment and good selection of foods
All of the staff really know their stuff. and are professional and very nice to talk to. From coming in from the Dean street entrance, to the people servicing the food at the concession stands are very nice we are coming back again
Loved everything about the actual game experience! But if you spend money on tickets to watch the game, why should you miss so much of it waiting in line to get a pretzel or a snack! I was in section 201 and there were many empty food carts not being utilized. Everyone was forced to go to one section to get food and the lines were ridiculous! Barclays needs to figure this out. It happens at college games too! Tickets are too expensive to miss a minute of the live action!
Parking nearby a BIG problem. Lines way too long to get into stadium. Not enough screeners/entrances. Took 25 minutes on line. Missed opening 10 minutes. Not enough food/drink vendors open - lines too long. Not enough souvenir stands - lines too long, not many options.
My daughter and I loved the game. She has been asking me to take her to another game.
The NY Liberty is one of the greatest WNBA teams out there and they do have THE GREATEST mascot Ellie the Elephant! I enjoyed this game so much and it was my fourth or fifth of the season. I was excited for the playoffs and glad I could find a ticket with a decent seat. So happy the ladies filled up Barclays. I came from a work event and Manhattan and I was glad that Barclays doesn’t have a no bag policy as my coworker and I both had work bags/laptops etc. since I came from work my phone was dying and I love that there were chargers for rent in the arena at multiple locations. This allowed me to get a charger near the entrance but return it near my seat. It was a devastating loss this season but a great performance and I am considering season tickets for next year. The half time performances have gotten better and better each game. I love the Timeless Torches! My coworker always says being a Timeless Torches dancer is apart of his retirement plan. If you’re in the NY area, living or visiting, support the WNBA and the NY Liberty and go to a game. You won’t regret it.
Barclays Center is always a great arena to experience basketball. Easy to navigate and great views.
It was amazing!! See you guys really soon!! Go New York!!
This was my first WNBA game and the atmosphere was unmatched!! The vibe was better than any NBA game I’ve been to and I will for sure be back!
I purchased tickets row 17 seats 3 &4. Seat 4 was partially blocked by the cameraman. No where in the listing did it mentioned this. I couldn't see down one side of the court because the cameraman's stage area was blocking my view! I spoke with Ticketmaster who said there was nothing they could do. These weren't cheap tickets, very disappointed!!!
