About

NEON INDIAN IN CONCERT:

Chillwave pioneers Neon Indian have been dazzling audiences with their sparkling synthpop jams ever since their 2009 debut. Taking the stage as a five-piece, the band creates a stunning cocktail of retro synth textures, lo-fi beats, and live visuals as frontman Alan Palomo keeps audiences moving with dance floor-friendly tracks like "Polish Girl" and "Deadbeat Summer". Veteran performers who've graced the stage at some of the country's best festivals, Neon Indian never fail to impress with their energy and vibe on their must-see tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Neon Indian began in 2008 as the bedroom project of frontman Alan Palomo, a Mexico-born, Texas-raised musician who had previously performed as Ghosthustler and VEGA. He made his album debut in 2009 with Psychic Chasms, a kaleidoscopic collection of washed-out summer jams that put chillwave on the critical radar and landed on numerous year-end lists. In 2011 he released his sophomore album Era Extrana, putting together a live band for a tour in support of the record that featured opening acts Purity Ring and Com Truise. With festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Sasquatch! under his belt, Palomo is a seasoned performer fans won't want to miss on his unforgettable tours.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

" Absolutely incredible from start to finish. Simple as that. Go and see Neon Indian if you ever have the chance."

"... Neon Indian rocked that house! They always do and I can't wait to see them again!"

" Neon Indian did not fail to please! Their tempo was right, Alan hit his notes, the stage was fun to watch, the band was excited to be there."

Awesome show. Com Truise was killing it even though I'm not sure the crowd was quite ready for them. Neon Indian played a great show, anyone who can should see them

Really great concert. The openers were great and Neon Indian had a lot of energy. I only wished that they played longer.

This was my second time seeing neon indian, alan palomo def. stepped his game up. They add more layers and complexity to the songs live. If you are a neon indian fan you have to see the live performance. Purity Ring was real tight too. Amazing show overall.

    Energetic and fun!!

by Lana2011 on 10/18/11The Record Bar - Kansas City

Neon Indian definately had a good time playing this show. The bands that played before them were decent but they definitely made up for that. The record bar may be a smaller venue but it made much more exciting

I consider Neon Indian to be one of the best Chillwave artists around, but this show was horrible. Zero crowd interaction, short, bad acoustics/lighting ... will try to forget that I ever attended this concert.

    Great Bands, Great Show

by guitar528 on 10/25/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

I was right up against the stage since Lord Huron played. Lord Huron is a great band, indie, with some reggae. I had not heard of them until this show, but I will definitely be checking them out from now on. They mix was pretty tight, low vocals, but thats because of where I was. Lia Ices was on next. She didn't really fit the genre of all the other bands there, but she was amazing none the less. She has a beautiful voice, and the outfits of everyone in the band were great. All white. Lower Dens was next and they were really good, definitely music to dance to but slow enough where they fit very well after Lia Ices. Wild Nothing was great. Everyone seemed to enjoy them a lot. I personally loved DOM. Their set was rather short, but it was full of energy and it was also their guitarist birthday! Neon Indian was amazing as usual, but they did take a long time to set up (they had tons of equipment). He was playing a theremin and their guitarist had one of the coolest guitars I have ever seen. It had a lcd screen in the guitar that changed and moved during the set. They were really tight. Surfer Blood closed and they were awesome. They really seem to enjoy playing. They played a new song and it was better than their other songs. They were having a lot of fun up there and really interacted with the crowd. The only complaint I had with the show was that some of the set changes took way longer than they should have, but its what I expected
