NEON INDIAN IN CONCERT:

Chillwave pioneers Neon Indian have been dazzling audiences with their sparkling synthpop jams ever since their 2009 debut. Taking the stage as a five-piece, the band creates a stunning cocktail of retro synth textures, lo-fi beats, and live visuals as frontman Alan Palomo keeps audiences moving with dance floor-friendly tracks like "Polish Girl" and "Deadbeat Summer". Veteran performers who've graced the stage at some of the country's best festivals, Neon Indian never fail to impress with their energy and vibe on their must-see tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Neon Indian began in 2008 as the bedroom project of frontman Alan Palomo, a Mexico-born, Texas-raised musician who had previously performed as Ghosthustler and VEGA. He made his album debut in 2009 with Psychic Chasms, a kaleidoscopic collection of washed-out summer jams that put chillwave on the critical radar and landed on numerous year-end lists. In 2011 he released his sophomore album Era Extrana, putting together a live band for a tour in support of the record that featured opening acts Purity Ring and Com Truise. With festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Sasquatch! under his belt, Palomo is a seasoned performer fans won't want to miss on his unforgettable tours.

Came for Neon Indian, stayed for Purity Ring

by Anonymous on 3/21/12Masquerade - Atlanta

It is very rare that I go to a concert and enjoy the opening act as much as the headliner. However, In this case, Purity Ring opening for Neon Indian was an exception. Purity Ring's performance blew me away. That is to say, Neon Indian was great too! It was almost expected for them to have a great performance. I guess it was a culmination of two amazing performances that made this concert so great for me.

    Neon Indian - Great Show!

by longarche on 3/21/12Masquerade - Atlanta

Despite the heat in the venue, despite the sorry facilities that The Masquerade offers, Neon Indian rocked that house! They always do and I can't wait to see them again!

    Purity Ring!

by JamesBrill on 3/21/12Masquerade - Atlanta

I left before Neon Indian took the stage. I paid full price admission just to see Purity Ring and they did not disappoint. Nice synthy hip-hop beats set against Megan James' pixy-sweet voice. Add in an intimate venue and Purity Ring's effective yet minimalist light show, it all made for a great night. A+

    neon indian

    by patrickstar94 on 3/10/12The National - Richmond

Everyone was wearing neon colors and painted faces and feathers covered the floor. The opener (Purity Ring) was absolutely fantastic with their light-setup and their drum set. When neon came out, we obviously went ballistic and there were balloons thrown up for a group-effort volley fest. Their set was somewhat shorter than what I was expecting but other than that, Neon Indian was absolutely fabulous. I'm so glad I went!

    Awesome show, weird venue

by cieltabris on 2/27/12The Record Bar - Kansas City

Neon Indian did not fail to please! Their tempo was right, Alan hit his notes, the stage was fun to watch, the band was excited to be there.. It would have gotten five stars if not for the weird venue. Some of the employees at the bar were rude, but maybe they didn't expect that many people to show up. Also, Purity Ring was fantastic, and Com Truise was good but a little too chill for that kind of show.

The band itself is great but WEBSTER HALL main stage has really bad acoustics.

    Not their best performance

by saber909 on 10/23/11Webster Hall - New York

I've seen Neon Indian a few times at smaller venues and they need to up their performance level a bit as they take on larger stages as a headliner. They work as a festival band filler, but as a main act they need some more theatrics/ lighting to gain a wider audience. Their performance with The Project Room was great and they need something more on that level.

    Neon Indian = amazing

by groovyvibes on 10/23/11Webster Hall - New York

10/21 at webster hall was amazing! Purity Ring was dark and fun, reminded me of a spooky but fun halloween set. Which is totally appropriate for the time of year. Com Truise surprised me, the crowd was really chill and just having a lot of fun during their set. and then Neon Indian .. minus some overly sexed teens, the crowd was great and extremely energized throughout the whole show. there weren't any dull moments. the band put on a really seamless show. Really great vibes throughout the whole venue. Polish girl was amazing. The light show was great. Probably my favorite show at webster hall thus far.

    Neon Indian Review

by Otero324 on 10/23/11Webster Hall - New York

Neon Indian finally returned to Websterhall. The event was simple, a great performance and a great crowd. Neon Indian is a top notch group but if the want to enter the sphere of the stars the need to increase the quality of their music; that will make them famous.

    Awesome Show!!!

by steadyriot on 10/22/11Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Neon Indian was great. His songs translate very well to the full band experience. Half of the songs played were very pop and dance oriented and the other half were a little slower and focused on cool sounds and noises. They had an amazing light show considering the size of the venue. Probably the best Ive seen at a small-mid size venue. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the length of the show and Alan didn't bring his Theremin The opening bands were good as well though basically just played songs out of a speaker and messed with echo/delay.

    I Love Neon Indian

by ManillaZ on 10/22/11Brighton Music Hall - Boston

The opening act was so boring and long, but the wait was well worth the amazing show Neon Indian put on!
