  • Needtobreathe @ The Showbox

by hbaker83 on 5/9/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I had never been to the Showbox @ the Market before, nor had I ever seen Needtobreathe live. May I just say. . . the experience was phenomenal! I didn't know who the two opening bands were (Seabird and Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers), and was pleasantly surprised. They both have a new fan now. If Needtobreathe ever comes back to Seattle, I will definitely be there. The best part was the song they sang at the end," Washed by the Water" (the song that made me fall in love with their music). I was waiting the whole night for them to sing this song, & it was definitely worth the wait! I loved the concert and will forever be a fan.

  • Needtobreathe was Absolutely Unbelievable!

by eternalinktattooguy on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen shows at much larger venues and didn't enjoy them near as much as at the Showbox Market. I had no idea who was scheduled to open for Needtobreathe but when Sea Bird got out there and played the crap out of their set, you'd have thought they were the headlining act! Then when Stephen Kellog got out there almost as if he were stalling for the next act, and was later joined by the 6ers they rocked out the most amazing southern rock set since Skynard. Bear and Bo and the boys of Needtobreathe are the epitome of professional musicians. Raw talent combined with southern charm, gospel roots, and genuine energy rocked our socks off. The only regrets I have about this show is that the tickets were so cheap. These guys should get paid more than they do.

  • Needtobreathe was so great!!

by folkchamp on 5/8/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This show was one of my first real concerts, as i have been a to few before but i was part of the team helping to put it on for local bands and such. But this was absolutely amaing, i love NeedToBreathe and their stage presence was phenominal. would definitely see them again live

  • Needtobreathe

by Stageberg on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was great, these guys are real. I loved Kellog and the Sixers. Needtobreathe finished the set with Washed By the Water unplugged, acoustic, no amplification; it was deep!

  • More than expected..they rocked!!

by BrookeF1976 on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This was my husband's first concert. We thought that it was going to be a tame concert but that was going to be OK because my hubby really likes the band. We were pleasantly surprised. They were absolutely entertaining performers. The sound was amazing. We will see them again when they come back to the area. We weren't aware that The Showbox was set up as it was and that we would be standing through all 3 bands. We would have worn appropriate shoes. It was worth it though! We really didn't mind by the end of the concert.

  • Need to Breathe left me Breathless!

by JWAG25 on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Even though it was standing room only, literally; elbows required to breathe, it was AMAZING!!! The musicians on the warm up bands, &Need to Breathe were "exceptional" musicians with non-formula songs that touch the heart. Even though my best friend & I couldn't move because of the ballroom floor "standing mosh pit mass", we didn't really want to anyways. We were next to the Stage Left speakers, and could still hear what was going on. The staff & stage hands took good care of the bands. It was fun to watch the "guitar exchange switch" between the stage hands & Bo & Bear after almost every other song. The only challenge was after the 1st song by Need To Breathe the mike didn't work right & was removed. Also, Bear's earpiece was NOT working right, and despite it all the band continued to put on a BREATHLESS performance!

  • Awesome

by SamTBSfan on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Need to Breathe puts an amazing show on! Each band member is highly talented and they are so much different then any other band out right now. Every song is a feel good want to clap and dance around to sound. They should be at larger venues because they bring in a large crowd. However it is amazing to be able to see them so close. I have been fortunate to be able to see them in two intimate settings especially because I think they are going to take off soon to larger venues.

  • shoulda swapped the lineup....

by iamjoshua on 5/8/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

The openers had a great sound, good job.. Stephan kellogg shoulda been the headliners with a great show... way better sound quality and much less "look at me i'm a rockstar even though you can't understand a thing i'm saying because the audio is WAY too distorted..." I like "need to breathe"s music, but ya'll ruined it the other night

  • by Rediet on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

soooooooooooooooo good. this was really the best concert i have ever seen.

  • Awesome from beginning to end!

by LulyinSeattle on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Even the opening acts rocked in this show! Needtobreathe played the "key" Outsiders songs, as well as More Time, I Will Run, and Washed by the Water from older albums - unforgettable! My favorite moment (too long for that field): Bear trying to sing "Washed by the Water" without the sound system, and having to hush the crowd several times so that the people in the back could hear. We couldn't help joining in!!

  • So Good!

by Anonymous on 5/8/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

All 3 of the bands were pretty incredible. I think my favorite from the concert was actually Stephen Kellog and the Sixers. I hadn't heard of this band before but both their energy and music were incredible live. Seabird played a few of my favorite songs, and is one of my all-time favorite bands. Needtobreathe put on a pretty snazzy show with lights and such.

  • Needtobreathe left the audience breathless.

by MatthewHarp on 5/8/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing Needtobreathe. Saw them about 8 months ago when they played at Hawthorne. They were fantastic the first time and at the Wonder Ballroom they were even better. Fantastic showmanship, humble hearts, and music that is full of depth and artistry. Will not pass up my next opportunity to see them!

  • by Anonymous on 5/7/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert I have been to in a very long time. The bands were humble and met with the crowd after playing, they were AMAZING on stage, and the eneregy was fresh and exciting.

  • "I wanna dance like this again...!"

    by supermichelle4 on 5/7/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Needtobreathe never fails to put on an incredible show! Last night's performance in Portland, Oregon was no exception. From the first slam of the drum beat to the last acoustic note, Needtobreathe impressed the entire crowd. It seems impossible to sit and write a review of the entire show, but believe me when I say it was unbeatable. Their albums are ridiculously good, but their live shows are phenomenal. This is definitely where they shine, and they did not disappoint. Bear's vocals are insane, and their ability to paint stories with their music is unmatched. I highly recommend seeing this band any chance you get! Even if you're not a fan, you will be by the end of the show!

  • Needtobreathe was fanfreakintastic

by Anonymous on 5/7/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show. The opening bands, Seabird and Stephen and the Sixers were both awesome starters. The SK6ers had a lot of humor, and brought a fun side to their show. The set lists for both were great. Needtobreathe was AWESOME. The whole show - the lighting, the music, the band itself -- amazing. They played all the best songs, kept the crowd stoked, and their encore included 3 songs. One of the best nights of my life, and definitely the best show I've ever been to.

  • Needtobreathe in Portland

    by Steiner1865 on 5/7/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

As usual the guys from Needtobreathe did not disappoint. I have been a fan since seeing them in Portland last year and was excited to bring 5 friends with me to see them. They continue to be my favorite band to see live and I won't miss a show in Portland. It was a nother sold out rocking show and Stephen Kellog and the Sixers were a great opening band as well. Bottom line is if you get a chance to see Needtobreathe live you will NOT be let down. They are a hard working rock and roll show that is a treat to see.

  • by Anonymous on 5/7/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show at the Wonder Ballroom! The guys impressed once again.

  • by revdean on 5/7/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

The 3 bands that played were very good with their own unique styles so the whole evening did not sound the same.

  • DONT MISS THIS

by talk2zina on 5/3/10El Rey Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This show was GREAT. Came to see Need to Breathe and the show was fantastic. One of the best I have seen in many many years. I would recommend anyone see them if they are in town. Both of the other bands. Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers and Seabird were great too. How often do you get 3 great bands in one show!! worth every dime.

  • Stephen Kellogg review

by Bugman60 on 5/3/10El Rey Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I'll be honest we went to this show to see Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. They were great--however their set was somewhat short. One can never get too much of SK&6ers! The opening band Seabird was really good too. The El Rey is a nice venue with really good sound. NeedtoBreathe were quite good as well with the exception that their sound was a little muddy. Sometimes volume is overrated! One star off for bad sound during the lead act. Can't wait to see SK&6ers when they return!
