About

The NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, also called March Madness, is an annual tournament that crowns the National Champion for Division I women’s basketball. Launched in 1982, the championship follows a single-elimination format, with 68 teams divided among four brackets and ranked between first and sixteenth. After the seeding announcements on Selection Sunday, the tournament begins with the First Four games, followed by the First and Second Rounds, Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four and the National Championship game. For the 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the First Four games tip off on March 19 and 20. The Sweet 16 round will be hosted between Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama and Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, Washington from March 28 to 31, while the Elite Eight, Final Four and National Championship game will be played at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Building on the hype and record-breaking viewership of the 2024 championship game between the reigning champion South Carolina Gamecocks and Iowa Hawkeyes, the 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship will take place on April 6.

The Women's NCAA basketball Sweet 16 at the AAC was awesome. The A&M girls were overpowering. The Lady Bears scored big. This was a great venue for this event. The most impressive part of the contests was the fan support. Both the Texas teams have a huge following. The arena was almost full and very loud. I attend at least 15 Mavs games a year. This was my first women's college game. I was blown away. I am now a fan for life. I would absolutely reccomend to any sports fan to attend at least one women's college basketball game.

  • Lady Aggie's btho Baylor!!!!

Our seats were excellent except for the fact that we were surrounded by Baylor fans, some of whom were not very sportmanslike - I was really surprised at their behavior. They sold out of t-shirts really quick but we luckily got our's on Sunday. It was definitely the best sporting event I have had the opportunity to attend!!!!

  • Lady Aggies Storm Into the Final 4

    by Yoda74 on 3/30/11American Airlines Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

What a great college basketball atmosphere at the AAC for the NCAA Dallas Regional. The folks at the arena were very helpful, and of course it helped that 2 Big 12 teams made the finals. A good crowd of ~ 12,000 watched A&M knock off Baylor in their 4th try this season. One thing I don't understand is why it is ok to sell beer at college bowl games but not at these sessions.

The games were very interesting because I took my kids to see a womens college game for the first time and they loved it. I have a daughter in the sixth grade and she want to play basketball and that was a great experience for her to see it live and in person.

I thought it was a great opportunity to see some of the finest women's teams in the nation. The one thing that I really missed were statistics. It wasn't until the last game that they showed how many points and fouls someone had. We are very knowledgeable and wanted to see shooting percentages, rebounds, etc. My niece had an experience that she will never forget. Otherwise, what a great atmosphere to be a part of. Thank you Dallas, and hope to come back every year.

by PaulieT on 3/29/11American Airlines Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I saw 2 games in the sweet 16 at the AA Center in Dallas. The 1st game Texas A&M vs Georgia was a blowout and not much fun. The Baylor game against Green Bay was awesome. All in all a great event with lots of school pride - bands, cheerleaders and mascots. Lots of fun

Wondered where all the good seats went. Midcourt was empty and the only choice I had to buy was behind the backboard. We are going tonight for the championship and hope I am sitting by Aggies.

  • VERY Sweet 16

by MidMoElMarko on 3/29/11American Airlines Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Aside from the 3 hour drive each way College Station-Dallas-College Station, a great day for my 8-year-old son & I. American Airlines Center in Dallas is a very nice venue for hoops, my boy was able to have a Slurpee at the game (and a corndog and popcorn......) and our seats were great, especially considering we didn't even decide to go until about 36 hours before tip. We were about 12 rows up off of the floor on the end of the court and paid less for our session pass than the folks who bought theirs through TAMU earlier in the week.

We had an amazing time watching Texas A&M defeat Georgia, and Baylor defeat Green Bay. Can hardly wait to leave for tonights game, right back in the same seats 5 rows up from the floor to watch Baylor and Texas A&M play again to get to the FINAL FOUR!

  • HERSCHEL WALKER

by SIRBEARALOT on 3/29/11American Airlines Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

THE AGGIES POUNDED GEORGIA SO BAD THAT THE GAME HIGHLIGHT WAS THE INTERVIEW WITH HERSCHEL WALKER . BAYLOR LOOK VERY GOOD AGAINST A SMALLER BUT PERSISTENT AND WORTHY OPPONET IN THE PHOENIX GIRLS.
