About

The NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, also known as March Madness, is the annual Division I Men’s Basketball tournament that began in 1939. Composed of 68 men’s college basketball teams across the U.S., the highly-anticipated competition determines the National Champion through a series of single-elimination games over three weeks. The tournament format follows four regional brackets with teams ranked from one to 16, plus an additional eight teams competing to claim the last four main bracket slots during the First Four Games. For the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, the First Four games start on March 18 and 19, followed by the First and Second Rounds between March 20 and 23, Sweet Sixteen on March 27 and 28 and Elite Eight on March 29 and 30. For the fifth time, the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas will host the Final Four and National Championship games, on April 5 and 7 respectively.

  • High Energy

The atmosphere is electric! The fans for each school are incredible. Thr intensity and emotion of a single elimination playoff system is the BEST! The television just does NOT do it justice - HAVE to be THERE in person!!

My has knee surgery in the near future. We had bought the all session passes months ago. After sitting in our assigned seats for one game, we checked with guest services on getting ADA seating. We were taken care of for the next 5 games. We just had to be there early for each session to get them. Thank you so much for the staff at Nationwide arena! You made our visit to Columbus very enjoyable!!!

  • 2019 NCAA Basketball 1st and 2nd Rounds - Columbus, Ohio

This is the fifth time games have been to Columbus, and my wife and I have gone each time. There is always great excitement and anticipation because there are eight schools in town, all with the hopes of winning and moving on. We met and talked with at least 25 people from different schools, and tried to be as friendly and helpful as possible. Several raved about Nationwide Arena, and the Arena District with all of its restaurants, bars, etc. For us, it was a great time. We bought the additional 'NCAA Experience', and even though I'm not sure we got our money's worth, we enjoyed it and would likely purchase it again. Our seats were great, and everyone around us was friendly and engaged in the whole atmosphere. No real complaints...the lines going through security were long but moved quickly. The lines to the men's rooms were really long, so I had to time things just right to avoid standing for 15 minutes. Concessions were fine. The 'entertainment' during timeouts, at halftimes, and between games was ok. Overall, a great time, and we can't wait until the games return to our hometown.

  • Excellent venue. I hope they host here again.

  • Great games.

The basketball games are always super. The facility is quite modern and up to date. But when folks leave their seats and go to the concourse, it is like a trip on LA freeway during commuter time. The concourse is to small, the men’s restrooms had lines over 100 guys deep out into the concourse and their were no escalators to the next level seating. I suggest to never hold the NCAA tournament here again. The facility is not suitable.

  • Opening Rounds Madness!!!

by Chris H. on 3/25/19Colonial Life Arena - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

This was the 4th year in a row of attending the First/Second Rounds of the men’s Div 1, NCAA BB Tournament. We had a great time as usual. Getting the tickets early, knowing where you’re sitting and that your tickets are “real”, gives you peace of mind. This year we upgraded to include lower level seating and the hospitality room. Dollar wise, I don’t know if it was worth it, but convenient wise, having the room with tables to retreat from the big crowd between games was nice. The food was simple and good. Although I wish they would have set out bottles of water and not made you stand in line and count that as one of your 2 drinks/ session. The early rounds are best since you are guaranteed to see the favorite 1 and 2 seeds and there is always a chance that a Cinderella team will knock one off. Last year was Virginia, this year it was almost Duke. The games are great. Drove to Myrtle Beach on the off day. Getting the tickets are highly recommended for fun with family or friends.
