About

NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

March Madness offers college hoops fans the ultimate in basketball intensity as 68 teams from across the country punch their tickets to the Big Dance and compete for the championship. Basketball devotees wait all season to fill out their brackets, cheer on their hometown heroes, and scope out promising NBA hopefuls as the nation's best college players take the court. March Madness has become one of the most anticipated television events of the year, but the thrills are even bigger inside the arena, where ticket buyers can hear the roar of the crowd feel the rumble of the action in person. The competition gets fiercer each weekend until the Final Four duke it out.

NCAA® Division I Men's Basketball Championship

The action, the drama, the madness - there's nothing like the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. From the First Four® to the Final Four®, teams battle it out to survive and advance in the single-elimination tournament. But only one team returns home as the national champion. Known as The Big Dance, each team, including the Cinderella teams who make it further in the tournament than many expect, vies for their chance to cut the traditional net from the hoop in victory at the end. Student-athletes give it their all and fans flock to venues to show their support and catch all the hoop heroics live. Be a part of March Madness® with Ticketmaster Verified Tickets.

NCAA Sweet 16®

The pressure is on from the start of every NCAA tournament, and it only builds with each passing round. Sixty-eight teams tip off at the start, and by the second weekend only 16 teams will remain - the Sweet 16. The NCAA Sweet 16 teams then play regional semifinals for a chance to move onto the regional finals (and become part of the Elite Eight®) later in the weekend. Fans can score NCAA Sweet 16 tickets with Ticketmaster to catch every epic play and edge-of-your-seat moment live

NCAA Elite Eight®

Half of the teams in the NCAA Sweet 16 get eliminated, leaving the Elite Eight for the regional finals. And these teams are truly elite - only the most talented and dedicated make it to this prestigious round of the NCAA tournament. Fans with Elite Eight tickets bring tons of passion and enthusiasm to the stands, cranking up the excitement at every matchup. The four games take place at the end of the second weekend, and winners advance to the Final Four®.

NCAA Final Four®

It all comes down to this. Student-athletes have pushed themselves hard to make it to the Final Four®, and they need to push themselves even harder to become the national champions. Fans score tickets to cheer their hearts out from the stands - and to give their team an edge. Each team is the champion of their region (East, South, Midwest and West) and must clutch the win to move on to the Men’s Basketball Championship taking place the following Monday. Featuring the two top teams in college basketball, the national championship game never fails to deliver an action-packed, white-knuckle finish to the entire tournament.

March Madness History

Ever since the first NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship was held in 1939, March Madness has gripped basketball fans across the country as top-tier amateurs lay it all on the line for a shot at glory. Originally played with a bracket of eight teams, both the tournament's number of competitors and its popularity have expanded exponentially in its 75+ years of existence. Today, 68 teams tango in one of four regional brackets (East, South, Midwest, and West) as the hoops hysteria spreads to arenas across the country. From perennial favorites to bracket-busting Cinderella stories, the tournament has seen it all, and fans won't want to miss a second of the unpredictable action hitting the hardwood this spring.

    Good Times

by BggCahoona29 on 3/19/10Ford Center - Oklahoma City

BYU/Fl game was best game so far! K-State was the expected blow out. UNLV/UNI was down to the last second, excellent game as well. Kansas/Lehigh unexpected start with Lehigh coming out strong just couldn't keep the pace. Overall great times!

    College Basketball Rules!

by shellies13 on 3/19/10Ford Center - Oklahoma City

The opening round of the NCAA Tournament was helped by the inclusion of the #1 & #2 teams from the Big XII. Great games including overtime and blow outs in regulation.

    San Jose Must Do Better

by Anonymous on 3/19/10HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

Programs $10 (last year were $8) = 20% INFLATION! Virtually every BIG SCREEN replay was cut several seconds short by a display of the NCAA logo, which in most cases resulted in not seeing its' critical moments. BIG SCREEN colors were WAY OFF; for example UTEP uniforms are ORANGE and NOT RED, and UW uniforms are PURPLE and NOT BLUE. Updated scores from other games were VERY infrequent. Our section (107) usher was EXTREMELY over-zealous checking everyones' tickets EVERY time they returned to their seats (I don't not need my tickets checked eight times or more during the course of an event), but at the end of the event was sitting on the floor of the main isle, blocking our exit. The time between Session 1 and Session 2 was 15-30 minutes too short, not allowing time to visit a local eating place for food. Last year in Boise, ID we had time to tailgate between sessions.

1st round of March Madness in San Jose

by shueboy24 on 3/19/10HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

The HP Pavilion was a good venue as there really isn't a bad seat in the building and all concessions were conveniently located. Three out of four basketball games were entertaining with exciting finishes including two buzzer beaters. My only qualms are that for whatever reason, the arena did a horrible job showing instant reply on controversial calls and athletic plays and only announced scores of other games on a very limited basis throughout the day. This is something everyone wants to know during the first round of the NCAA tournament when 12 other games are being played.

    NCAA Hoops too expensive!!!

by MetryFan1 on 3/19/10New Orleans Arena - New Orleans

While I enjoyed Thursday's Sessions I and II of the NCAA Basketball Championships, the Arena being less than half-full took away from the experience. The upper level was almost empty. I believe the main cause for this is the $66.00 per game ticket price. That's rather expensive for local fans to pay to go see teams which we don't even know, don't you think? Another reason for poor attendance is that I don't believe this tournament was advertised much locally. I heard about it by chance a few days before the event. I'm wondering what next year's 2nd Round games are going to cost. I need to start budgeting now! And forget about 2012's Final Four!

    March Madness

by UKforever on 3/19/10New Orleans Arena - New Orleans

Loved the experience!! New Orleans is great and the arena is so easy to get to and from. Ticketmaster was very easy and friendly to work with and the package is great to be able to watch 6 NCAA tournament games for under $200. I would recommend and will attend again in the future.

NCAA First Round at San Jose

by GoBears50 on 3/19/10HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

The games were a lot of fun, but I was very disappointed that they were not showing scores of other games. Also, during the game breaks and halftime, they should have been broadcasting other games on the big screen. Also, on one of the big screens, several panels were not working.

by romo1 on 3/19/10New Orleans Arena - New Orleans

i do not understand why the ncaa would not show the cbs feed from other games during the half time and between games. i sat through four games with nothing to look at on giant screens. even during the games getting information or replays was very lacking.

    Couldn't ask for more!

by jimmyB642 on 3/19/10HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

What's not to like about this? It's March Madness!!! The only bummer was the way they cleared the staduim after the first session then let people in for the second session.. Seemed very confused and disorganized.

    one complaint

by Rootbeer15 on 3/19/10HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

Since I am at "March Madness", there should be a way that they flash scores of other games on the score board during breaks in play. This did not happen but a couple of times.

Games were amazing...Horrible use of Technology

by GB1966 on 3/19/10HP Pavilion At San Jose - San Jose

There should definitely be score updates cycling throughout the game. As I recall there was one audio score update per game played...completely unacceptable. Also the jumbotron needed to have the CBS live feed during the halftime/between games break. Please handle this. Also no in and outs from the Pavilion as well as alcohol (I know this is the fault of the NCAA). I hope the time I spent on this feedback is acknowledged and acted upon.
