About

The NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, also known as March Madness, is the annual Division I Men’s Basketball tournament that began in 1939. Composed of 68 men’s college basketball teams across the U.S., the highly-anticipated competition determines the National Champion through a series of single-elimination games over three weeks. The tournament format follows four regional brackets with teams ranked from one to 16, plus an additional eight teams competing to claim the last four main bracket slots during the First Four Games. For the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, the First Four games start on March 18 and 19, followed by the First and Second Rounds between March 20 and 23, Sweet Sixteen on March 27 and 28 and Elite Eight on March 29 and 30. For the fifth time, the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas will host the Final Four and National Championship games, on April 5 and 7 respectively.

My family and I enjoyed the weekend in DC watching the NCAA basketball tournament. A tradition we have established 4 years ago.

  • Excellent game, mediocre venue

by basketball nut on 4/2/19Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 4 out of 5

Honda Center does not know how to present a game. They kept the lights on in the arena instead of just having the lights on over the court. The drama would have been even better had they left the lights on over the court as is typical. Secondly, they did not have any replays of the great moments in the game. The game was fantastic, the arena was mediocre. Thirdly, although the announced attendance as 15,000+ in an arena that holds close to 19,000, there were lots of no-shows. I guess their teams lost early and they went home. Either way, the at-large fans, people who came to see great basketball including myself, should have added all the missing seats. I guess people in LA don't care to see great basketball at the college level. Finally, Ticketmaster was awesome. Lost my tickets and they knew exactly how to find them.

  • Uneven Experience

by JL on 4/2/19Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 3 out of 5

My wife and I had tickets to both days of the West Regional. For the first time I decided to try the "NCAA Experience" package which included access to a hospitality lounge before and during the games. Not sure I would do this again. The "Experience" package included complimentary snacks and two free drinks per person each day. The drinks were served in small plastic glasses, but then the drinks in the arena were served in glasses only slightly larger and for very high prices. The former NCAA "star" on the second day was Michael Cooper, former Laker all-pro, and he was fabulous. He spent almost the entire time personally interacting with the attendees and regaling the room with stories and comments. The first-day celebrity, Jamaal Wilkes, was much less animated and didn't have as much to say. On the second day the buffet line moved very slowly because the food served required more time to plate. Should have been a second line to speed up service. The Honda Center is a terrific venue, and the location of the "NCAA Experience," the Shock Top Lounge, was great. Lots of seating inside and outside on the patio. Would recommend the NCAA continue to use the Honda Center for March Madness. Easy parking and great venue.

  • NCAA hoops in Columbia SC

    by ctbrown1918 on 3/31/19Colonial Life Arena - ColumbiaRating: 2 out of 5

Tickets were great, games were great but the Colonial Life Arena is mediocre at best. Been going to the 1st and 2nd round for almost 20 years. In 2019 I expect wifi in the arena, video display of scores of other games, particularly on the first day of madness, in-game announcements when other close/interesting games go final, and multiple food options. Colonial Life had none of that. Downtown Columbia is cool with lots of before- and between- game dining options. Definitely not coming back here, though. Pretty much any other venue (Charlotte, Nashville, Lexington, Tampa, Orlando, etc, etc,) on the east coast is better.

  • WOW

by Rick on 3/31/19Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Watching the 3 games was wonderful. The whole experience was wonderful . Ticketmaster was easy to use purchasing tickets. Everyone associated with the event did an outstanding job from the parking lot attendants, Anaheim police, ticket takers, ushers and concession stand workers. They all did a great job to create an outstanding experience. THANK YOU

  • Basketball

by Laura on 3/30/19Nationwide Arena - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

The lack of stats for the games was disappointing. Our seats were behind the basket and the only stats available were shown behind us. It was a full game before we realized they were there. It would have been easy to show stats on the screens on the other side of the arena, but this wasn't done. In addition to not being able to see stats, our view was obstructed by the basket.

  • Great experience

Great opportunity to see teams from around the country. Good mix of teams from east coast to west coast.

  • March Madness in San Jose

by Vince on 3/28/19SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

Yes great time. While I prefer the Printed ticket texting me the ticket went okay. It was the second time I used it. I used it in the Fan Fest for the NHL All Star Game. But I prefer the printed ticket but I can deal with the text. No app please. Still having trouble with that. Thanks for a great time at the March Madness. A great day for my Birthday Weekend. Vince!

  • Great basketball fun!

by GMAGATOR on 3/27/19Colonial Life Arena - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the games, especially the Duke-UCF game! Columbia was a terrific venue, with nearby hotels and restaurants to accommodate fans from the eight schools. Lines to enter the arena moved smoothly, with the “clear bag” policy evidently helping that to occur. I would like to ask how one can purchase lower level sideline tickets when they first come available in October. I used my password as soon as sales opened (within seconds), but still ended up 10 rows UP in the 2nd level!! Please let me know how I can get better seats for the games! Thanks.

  • Improvement for mobility impaired

by Smugler37 on 3/27/19SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 3 out of 5

Walking can be painful. Sometimes not. I have a state issued placard issued on my doc's request. My seats were more than 35 steps up. I saw a guy managing his crutches coming down. Handicapped seating already full. Parking a 100 yds & more from steps which were blocked closest to assigned handicap parking .. additional. Why make this event a painful or extreme exercise when a little planning and empathy oversight by some crab like me could have handled it. Sadly amateurish for an annual NCAA event.

  • Good Game

The Duke vs UCF basketball game was a good one. The experience was awesome and hopefully Columbia SC will get a another tournament soon.

  • Great NCAA event

    by E. B. on 3/27/19Nationwide Arena - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the NCAA tournament in Columbus Ohio last week for the 2nd round games. Will buy tickets again in the future for sure....

  • Always amazing!!

by Yvette on 3/27/19SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

NCAA Tournament always provides excitement. If you love basketball, you need to experience one tournament game. I attended sessions 1 & 2. My only complaint is the exit situation for session 1 did not provide "handstamp" for easy entry for those attending both sessions. I heard about it from another person.

  • Basketball heaven

by Almasst on 3/27/19SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 4 out of 5

Loved going to the first and second round sessions. Six games. Plus upset city on first round. However, the venues and the NCAA need a better system for round one and two sessions. This clearing the arena and relining up after session one I understand but the process needs improvement. When the first game of session two tipped off the arena was barren with maybe a few hundred people. It wasn’t until maybe halfway through the first half that the arena had a few thousand in their seats. This is not fair to fans nor the teams. I understand this is about money and TV but it needs attention.

  • Great day despite loss

by D. on 3/27/19SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 4 out of 5

Tickets were difficult to purchase online/mobile, but eventually succeeded. From there it was great experience.

  • Great Tourney Action

by Cecil on 3/27/19SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 4 out of 5

Overall we had a great time watching the first two rounds of the NCAA Men's tournament in San Jose. Three out of the first four games were upsets adding to the excitement of watching the tourney live versus on TV. The area we sat in were occupied by people that bought the all session tickets. It was nice to see the same folks during all games. My only complaint is on the first day, they kick everyone out of the SAP center between sessions. You have to exit and get in line to go through security again an enter with your second set of tickets (if you were all session). This would not have been so bad if it wasn't for the fact it was raining. Did not enjoy getting soaking wet while waiting. Would have been nice if they allowed all session ticket holders to go to a predefined area that was covered and not have to go through security again.
