About

NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

March Madness offers college hoops fans the ultimate in basketball intensity as 68 teams from across the country punch their tickets to the Big Dance and compete for the championship. Basketball devotees wait all season to fill out their brackets, cheer on their hometown heroes, and scope out promising NBA hopefuls as the nation's best college players take the court. March Madness has become one of the most anticipated television events of the year, but the thrills are even bigger inside the arena, where ticket buyers can hear the roar of the crowd feel the rumble of the action in person. The competition gets fiercer each weekend until the Final Four duke it out.

NCAA® Division I Men's Basketball Championship

The action, the drama, the madness - there's nothing like the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. From the First Four® to the Final Four®, teams battle it out to survive and advance in the single-elimination tournament. But only one team returns home as the national champion. Known as The Big Dance, each team, including the Cinderella teams who make it further in the tournament than many expect, vies for their chance to cut the traditional net from the hoop in victory at the end. Student-athletes give it their all and fans flock to venues to show their support and catch all the hoop heroics live. Be a part of March Madness® with Ticketmaster Verified Tickets.

NCAA Sweet 16®

The pressure is on from the start of every NCAA tournament, and it only builds with each passing round. Sixty-eight teams tip off at the start, and by the second weekend only 16 teams will remain - the Sweet 16. The NCAA Sweet 16 teams then play regional semifinals for a chance to move onto the regional finals (and become part of the Elite Eight®) later in the weekend. Fans can score NCAA Sweet 16 tickets with Ticketmaster to catch every epic play and edge-of-your-seat moment live

NCAA Elite Eight®

Half of the teams in the NCAA Sweet 16 get eliminated, leaving the Elite Eight for the regional finals. And these teams are truly elite - only the most talented and dedicated make it to this prestigious round of the NCAA tournament. Fans with Elite Eight tickets bring tons of passion and enthusiasm to the stands, cranking up the excitement at every matchup. The four games take place at the end of the second weekend, and winners advance to the Final Four®.

NCAA Final Four®

It all comes down to this. Student-athletes have pushed themselves hard to make it to the Final Four®, and they need to push themselves even harder to become the national champions. Fans score tickets to cheer their hearts out from the stands - and to give their team an edge. Each team is the champion of their region (East, South, Midwest and West) and must clutch the win to move on to the Men’s Basketball Championship taking place the following Monday. Featuring the two top teams in college basketball, the national championship game never fails to deliver an action-packed, white-knuckle finish to the entire tournament.

March Madness History

Ever since the first NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship was held in 1939, March Madness has gripped basketball fans across the country as top-tier amateurs lay it all on the line for a shot at glory. Originally played with a bracket of eight teams, both the tournament's number of competitors and its popularity have expanded exponentially in its 75+ years of existence. Today, 68 teams tango in one of four regional brackets (East, South, Midwest, and West) as the hoops hysteria spreads to arenas across the country. From perennial favorites to bracket-busting Cinderella stories, the tournament has seen it all, and fans won't want to miss a second of the unpredictable action hitting the hardwood this spring.

Loved the sports, connectivity still stinks

    by S. S. on 3/26/19Vystar Veterans Arena - Jacksonville

This is my 8th NCAA Men’s Basketball March Madness experience. They have all been very entertaining. I have seen some epic Cinderella victories which is why I keep coming back. The event staff and vendors were great. The big disappointment is the internet connectivity at the arena. You can’t post to social media or get sports scores. JaxArena would needs to upgrade! Other venues I have gone to over the years do much, much better. I will be back to March Madness but I won’t be choosing JaxArena again!

    Colonial Life Arena

by Cubs fan on 3/26/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

This facility is the campus home for the University of South Carolina basketball teams and is located on the edge of campus. A plus for this site is its nearness to downtown Columbia and the Gervais street entertainment/restaurant corridor. This these factors allow for getting something to eat between sessions 1 and 2. Sites with few eateries around makes for very large crowds at these few eateries. Since we know CBS televising schedule provides NO provision for overtime games in session 1, if that had occurred fans MIGHT have had a chance to get something to eat and still get back into the arena before the start of session 2 games.

    NCAA Basketball

by Don on 3/26/19Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I truly enjoyed the experience and always choose a weekend site every year for this tournament. Nationwide Arena is a great venue to view basketball. All aspects of the experience (entry, public space, food, parking, etc.) is great .... except, I really wish we had been given more information on the scoreboards. Where are the stats (more details) and where are the SCORES of other games? I have been in other arenas where this is posted; not here. Please include that next time ....disappointed.

    Between Session Bathroom Closure

by HuskyFan on 3/26/19SAP Center at San Jose - San Jose

This was a bucket list thing for me. Taking my 9-year old to see two games during session 1 on Friday at San Jose’s SAP Center. We had a blast until it was time to leave. On our way out my son needed to go to the bathroom but at every entrance we’re two ushers blocking the way. My boy has a doctor recognized small bladder. There is nowhere to go outside SAP Center. He started freaking out. As did a 70-year old gentleman needing to take his insulin (who was not allowed in). As a member of the local media who frequently attends Sharks/Barracuda and other events at SAP I found this very disturbing and frankly, inhumane. At the least, an announcement should have been made with 10 minutes remaining in the game re: whatever this unnecessary policy is.

    Great weekend

by K. on 3/25/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

Enjoyed watching all of the games. The atmosphere was great! A few suggestions to make the experience even better would be to get WiFi in the arena and have more ushers to help people find their seats. The facility is great, but larger screens would make the experience even better. My son’s only suggestion would be to have a better supply of full size basketballs at the merchandise booths-they sold out early on Friday and they only had small basketballs for sale when the doors opened Sunday. But again, it’s an atmosphere and experience like no other-I would highly recommend it to any basketball fan!

NCAA March Madness in Columbus Ohio

by Big Ern on 3/25/19Nationwide Arena - Columbus

Great venue at Nationwide Arena. Our games were very entertaining. My buddies and I have been going every year to various cities but this was the first time that they have sold beer at the games. I don't see why they have to do this. I'm sure it's all about making tons of money more but I think it just takes away the family feeling it's always was known for. American greed has finally "punched their ticket" to March Madness.

    I love the NCAA tournament.

by Happy on 3/25/19Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I love the tournament. The only negative is the cost of food and drinks—$5.00for a bottle of water is a little much.

    Great experience!

    by B. H. on 3/25/19Nationwide Arena - Columbus

The venue was perfect for this event. Adequate parking close by, lots to do close to the venue. The venue itself had some of the best concession options I've ever seen. The entertain during media time outs and in between games was great. All of my experiences at this event are positive!

    Tulsa

by Lazy J on 3/25/19BOK Center - Tulsa

I thought the overall experience in Tulsa was a bit disappointing. The games were good, rhe staff at BOK was good, but something lacked. There was little hype in the community, nothing to do outside the arena. Inside the arena, it would have been nice to have an MC to bridge the gaps during tv timeouts, and to inform of lookins. Also, the PA system was hard to understand.

    Awesome weekend!!!

by PG on 3/25/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

This was a memorable experience for me and my sons. The venue was perfect for the large crowd. My only suggestion would be for the NCAA to have a larger quantity of T-shirts to sell. My son was disappointed that they sold out of the shirt he wanted. I can’t wait for the return to Columbia, SC!!!

    Good

by Scott on 3/25/19BOK Center - Tulsa

Food prices are high. I had wished they would have played more of the other games that were playing in other regions on the scoreboard at halftime as halftime was pretty boring. Wish the scoreboard would have also displayed more data.

Games were great, location of the seats was good; however,

    by Tscott9402 on 3/25/19Nationwide Arena - Columbus

Games were great, location of the seats was good; however, these were the most uncomfortable seats of any arena I've ever been in. There was maybe 8 inches of leg room between my seat and the seat in front of me! I may as well sat in the back seat of a sub-compact car. I will never, ever attend another sporting event in Nationwide Arena again! Very inconsiderate shoving those seats so close together in the name of GREED! NEVER AGAIN!

    2019 March Madness

by Josh on 3/25/19Vystar Veterans Arena - Jacksonville

I have been to Tulsa, Orlando 2x, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, and now Jacksonville twice for March Madness First/Second rounds and this was the first time I just thought things were okay and not great. The last time they were in Jax they lined the streets with food trucks and a couple of beer tents this year there was not one food truck other than a concession line by the baseball stadium with hot dogs and chips and two beer tents set up right outside the arena. There is nothing really close by the arena to do in Jax other than one tavern that was always packed with a line outside the door. I felt the street entertainment/food/beer options were very underwhelming compared to years passed. Once inside the arena hey they finally sold beer at a NCAA event this is probably a great revenue source for sure there were a ton of venders for that but they weren't allowed to come in the aisle way to sell so you still had to leave your seat to go and get a drink and the lines were usually long. The venue itself holds just over 14k people (without the floor being open for seating) and just doesn't offer a lot of amazing options when it comes to food and they kept running out of everything so wait times were insane considering they have had this event here twice in the last five years and they new it was a sellout crowd. It just didn't seem like they were very prepared for this inside the venue and there isn't much around outside of the venue so out of all the places I've been for a tournament Jax is easily my least favorite of the venues I've been to. The games were fantastic, I liked having the bands and mascots battle each other it was fun for everyone. Also parking was pretty easy going with a lot of options close to the venue and if you wanted to save money some not too far away either. They had the right parts of the streets blocked off to allow easy entry and exit so that part they got right.

    One Great Game

by Michael1626 on 3/25/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

We where in Columbia, SC and they did a wonderful job everywhere. Our first four game where stinkers, but Duke UCF made up for the first four. Having gone for over twenty years, we really appreciate the look-ins at other games on the big screen, all though we asked for this for YEARS. We are certainly not big fans of two number one seeds at on site. This guarantees two blow outs.

    Amazing and Fun

    by E. R. on 3/25/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

Columbia definitely knows how to host the NCAA tournament. It was easy to find our seats and they also offered free parking and shuttle rides to the arena. It was overall just an awesome experience. Prices for food and drinks at the arena are a little pricey, but that it to be expected. Me and my mom had an awesome time!!
