  • NCAA Hockey...mixed feelings

by Timxxxx on 3/31/15Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester - ManchesterRating: 3 out of 5

I purchased 9 tickets to the event 5 and 4 in each row. We have attended the NE Regionals for probably over 10 years in both Worcester and Manchester. The timing of the event was terrible from my group's perspective. Of the 9...only 4 of the paying customers were able to attend the early 2:00 game. had to scurry to fill 4 of the other 5. I know NCAA selects the start time. The other issue was that the game everyone wanted to see was the BU game. Scheduled at 2. I would bet that there would have been a couple thousand more fans if it was scheduled later. The place was relatively empty and vacant for the second game. BU has one of the best players in the nation...no one saw him on Friday. The games and the venue were terrific and competitive.

Seats were unbelievable. Games were fantastic. I wish I had bought tickets for the frozen four in Boston. I would highly recommend this to anyone and Ticketmaster did a great job as usual. Thanks

  • NCAA Hockey Regionals at Providence

by TBostonMA on 3/31/15Dunkin' Donuts Center - ProvidenceRating: 3 out of 5

Great games but overly loud (canned) music at numerous time-outs. (Band music was great, it's the canned music that was annoying). Very few replays Will stay home next year and watch from TV. Be quieter and see more replay action.

As a hockey fan of all levels, I especially look forward to attending at least one of the NCAA Hockey Regional Championships each year. The compete level of these schools is incredible. This year with two "local" schools competing the intensity level was extreme. Each year I meet great hockey fans from various locations throughout North America. With a little luck I'll be attending the Frozen Four in Bean Town.

Had a great time even though BC lost; Miami(Ohio)/Providence was a classic.

Great time - especially when Friars won it all - great two days of hockey

  • Highest priced seats were bad.

by Anonymous on 3/31/15Dunkin' Donuts Center - ProvidenceRating: 2 out of 5

I bought the most expensive seat package. The seats were behind the goalie at a level that was obstructed by the top of the glass and the netting. The seats were in a row LL, that was right up against the lower cement wall with no room for legs and not a bit of incline. Instant back pain. We had to move to the much more comfortable cheap seats up top, which had a better view and more room. No pass outs an d re entry between games with more than an hour to wait. Food and beverages were outrageous .

D1 college playoff hockey is the best! Plenty of action. Better than going to a NHL game

Great venue and great hockey. Enjoyed it immensely and look forward to the tournament each time it is held in Manchester. Facility is clean and accessible and people are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend any event at this arena. Size is manageable and sight lines are excellent from any seat.

  • Great take for two NCAA playoff hockey games

    by yaguara2003 on 3/30/15Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

Went with a friend from Winchester, MA up to Manchester NH. Was about a 45 m minute ride up I-93. Only issue was parking. The Arena could use a parking garage under the stadium or more parking lots around the arena. We managed to find a parking space and had to walk and pay the max $7.50 for 10 hours at the meter for the parking (The meters around the arena do take credit cards) . It was a 10 minute walk to the gates. Upon entering it was quick and easy to get through the line for tickets, and my seat was right behind the goal. I stayed there for the first period and part of the second, but then moved up for the 3rd to the upper deck as there were open seats by the band for the BU game. The second game I moved to sit behind the Minnesota Duluth Coach in the first row behind the bench. A coworker of mine at TD garden said they saw me on national TV - behind the team on ESPN. Concessions were plenty. I especially liked the corn dogs =) they had plenty of frozen four merchandise available and team merchandise. I even met Goldy the Golden Gopher mascot. for Minnesota! =) Was wicked pissah (Awesome) Two good games. And a Boston University victory what more can you ask for?

  • NCAA Regional Tournament Hosted by Manchester NH

    by MJ0627 on 3/30/15Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester - ManchesterRating: 1 out of 5

Brutal! The main highway 293N was backed up at the exit ramp nearest the Verizon Wireless Center. There is a series of traffic lights leading into downtown toward the arena each of which is exceptionally long on red which backs up the traffic in several directions. There is no one directing traffic so we sat in the lines for at least 45 minutes. The event began at 2PM on a Friday so when we got close enough to the main parking lot across from the arena it was of course full. We then drove around the streets of Manchester looking for parking anywhere near the venue . . . there was none. There were several lots which had plenty of space and only a few cars in them but they were all reserved for people with permits to park there. We couldn't park on the street because there is a 2 hour limit and once inside the arena they won't let you out and then readmit you later. It was cold and raining and I had my 9 year old son with me so I wanted to park as close in proximity to the venue as possible. after searching the city we finally found a municiple lot several city blocks away from the Verizon Wireless Center. We hiked into the arena and got to our seats in time to see the end of the first period. After the second game it was about 8:30 and we had a long cold walk back to the car. The event itself was very entertaining but the prices were very high which kept the crowd to a minimum. Cheaper prices and a larger crowd would make for a much better event. I should've anticipated the parking issues on a work day but the traffic situation getting to events in Manchester is rediculous every time I've been there.

High ticket prices such as these allow for rare attendance, at most, to an event like this. Did the NCAA see the attendance at Friday's games? I believe the low attendance is most directly correlated in inverse proportion to the high prices

  • by hockeynana on 3/30/15Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester - ManchesterRating: 5 out of 5

The games were great! All three games were great to see in person. The atmosphere on Saturday night was what you would hope for in a big game.

  • Hockey was great, the venue was OK

by cavdog on 3/30/15Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester - ManchesterRating: 4 out of 5

Really enjoyed watching the Northeast Regional Semifinals in Manchester. The hockey teams put on a fantastic show, even though the attendance was incredibly small. Expected more people to show up. The workers at the venue were very friendly but the service left a little bit to be desired. Two times I went to the concession stands for food and both times my family and I had to settle for our second choices because food wasn't ready. The bathrooms were pretty trashed by the second game. Overall the experience was a good time but the arena needs to work on customer service.

  • NCAA Hockey Northeast Regionals.

    by Yale67 on 3/30/15Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester - ManchesterRating: 4 out of 5

The game was excellent. College hockey at its best. A drawback to the overall experience was the event parking. It appeared to be limited and poorly organized.

  • NCAA hockey

by namer on 4/7/14DCU Center - WorcesterRating: 3 out of 5

The games were great, but the seats, although very close to the ice, were a problem. We couldn't see through the team benches and so the far goal and the far right corner were obscured. We had to look at the Jumbotron to see what was going on. And then we spent over an hour trying to exit the parking lot near the DCU Center: very frustrating.
