We took our daughter's who play volleyball in high school and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience at the collegiate level! Loved the geographic diversity present and cheering the teams...we watched UCLA vs Illinois! T-E-R-R-F-I-C game!!! We have family in LA so we were thrilled with the end result!!!!

NCAA Volleyball Championship Was a BLAST!!!!

    by Iceman94 on 12/19/11Alamodome - San Antonio

This was a great event in a great city. We enjoyed the Riverwalk, shopping and the games. The girls are great competitors and class acts. The UCLA girls took time after their championship to sign autographs for the 11 year old girls we took to watch the game. Congratulations to UCLA and their National Championship!!!!!

    Volleyball

While the seats were not the best, the excitement and the game were well worth it. I am thinking of going to the 2012 in Kentucky.

    These 'girls' Rock!

    by JimE3 on 12/18/11Alamodome - San Antonio

This final four of the 2011 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship was GREAT! I took my granddaughter and she was impressed with UCLA's First Team All American Rachel Kidder almost from the start. And although our team didn't make the final four, the quality of the play in The Illinois - Southern Cal and Illinois - UCLA matches were as good as I've seen, with long rallies, strong offense, and stifling defense. San Antonio and the Alamodome did a great job, as well. Despite the weather and no real regional team, the enthusiastic local support for great volleyball and superb competition, as well as the 24,000 attendees for the two days of the tourney, illustrated a true love of great play! GREAT EXPERIENCE!

    Amazing!!

    by Crazy4Volleyball on 12/18/11Alamodome - San Antonio

I loved seeing all the volleyball fans from different places. The Nebraska fans were cheering for Illinois, it was great! My daughter and I had a wonderful time. San Antonio is the best place to hold such events and I hope that we have many more.

This was really a great experience for a volleyball fan like me. I was able to get autographs from the teams at the championship, and was able to get good volleyball merchandise.

    Semi final matches

    by walijohn68 on 12/17/11Alamodome - San Antonio

although I found the volleyball matches played at a very high level, especially the USC - Illinois match, the venue leaves something to be desired. One feels lost in a massive structure that doesn't seem to lend itself to the emotion and competitive fire of the teams. I was at the semis and finals in Sacramento a couple of years ago and the excitement was electrifying. Sorry San Antonio but excitement and crowd noise/involvement seems lacking.
