About

The ‘90s are often described as the Golden Era of hip hop with the decade introducing an array of acts, many of whom have stood the test of time and influenced generations of artists to follow. One such act is the Grammy Award winning hip hop trio, Naughty By Nature, born from the streets of East Orange, New Jersey, or better yet, the streets of ‘’Ill-Town’’.

The trio of Treach (Anthony Criss), Vin Rock (Vincent Brown) and the man responsible for their sound, super producer DJ Kay Gee (Keir Gist) have been a mainstay on world stages for 25 years since hitting the charts with their self titled debut album in 1991, which featured the classic ‘’O.P.P’’. Their follow up, 1993’s, ‘’Nineteen Naughty Three’’ featured the eternal hip hop anthem, ‘’Hip Hop Hooray’’ ensuring that the group would forever be embedded in popular culture. Their hit laden 1995 release, ‘’Poverty’s Paradise’’ featured set favourites, ‘’Craziest’’, ‘”Feel Me Flow’’ and ‘’Clap Yo Hands’’ but it was not until the release of 1999’s ‘’Nineteen Naughty Nine – Natures Fury’’ that the rest of the world caught up with what hip hop fans knew for so long with the album boasting two monster commercial hits in ‘’Holiday’’ and ‘’Jamboree’’. Since then, the group has released two further albums, the 2002 aptly titled ‘’Iicons’’ and 2011’s ‘’Anthem Inc”’ celebrating the groups 20th anniversary.

Hits and anthems aside, the group’s credibility as a hip hop powerhouse comes from their live shows. With constant touring, Naughty By Nature have established a reputation as one of the premier live hip hop groups of all time.

Australia’s love affair with Naughty by Nature commenced in 1995 when the group toured as part of the ‘’Cool Naughty Pain’’ tour with fellow hip hop artists, House of Pain and Coolio. Since that time, the guys have been regular visitors down under having performed shows across every major city and a number of regional towns. From clubs to arenas and festivals, the intensity and energy of a Naughty By Nature show is undeniable. Abstract Entertainment, Arena Touring and Delta Bravo are excited to announce that Treach, Vin Rock and Kay Gee are headed back down under to celebrate 20 years of touring Australia and to kick off their 25th anniversary celebrations. Fans are in for a treat with the shows promising to be nothing short of jam packed, hit laden, ‘’hands in the air’’ hip hop parties, with a few surprises.

  • Nice Show but a bit short

by Droop Dogg on 1/23/19Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Show was good. It was cool to see these guys showing that they still can kick it. Whodini and BDK killed it. Slick Rick needs to tell the mixer sound guys to TURN THE DAMN BEAT DOWN. This guy was up there screamin like funkmaster flex when he should've been able to rap in the chill style that we all know. Even so, it was cool to see him live. A bit pissed Onyx didn't show up

  • The show was great

Experience was great! All performers did an exceptional job but I was a little disappointed that “Onyx” was a NO SHOW.

  • The show was good but could have been better.

by Tami on 1/23/19Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic CityRating: 3 out of 5

It would have been nice if there were other female artists... The lighting and sound systems are horrible. I should have been able to see their faces clearly from my seat but because of the roving spot lights and on-stage lighting, I felt like I was sitting in the nose bleed seats! The sound was also not the greatest... even the artists had to keep saying turn my mic up... I doubt that I'll be going to another event at Boardwalk Hall.

  • Love that show! Cant wait til next year!

  • All Stars of Hip Hop

by Jamie on 1/23/19Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing! So much fun! My only complaint is security disappeared so a bunch of people from the stands came down on the floor and crowded us. From what I hear, that is a common occurrence at Boardwalk Hall so I wasn’t shocked. All in all a great time

  • Great, great show

by Mia on 1/23/19Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

I was very impressed with the whole show in it’s entirely. I was born in 1980 and it was awesome to see and hear some of the music I grew up listening to preformed live. Each performer took their time, you could hear the words clear and precise. I was in heaven the whole show!!! I really enjoyed it.

  • IT WAS GREAT!

by Funkologist on 2/20/18Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena - BinghamtonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great concert! Not only did Naughty by Nature do their signature song, O.P.P., but they paid homage to Run-DMC, Biggie, and Tupac. They had the crowd jumping, singing, and chanting along! SWV were great too. It was amazing how three women, and three men: their bass player, drummer, and keyboard player, can make such beautiful music. The concert was sponsored by the Broome County Urban League. Every $37.50-$47.50 ticket sold, $5.00 went to Citizen Action.

Omg had a great time..music was amazing back to time..these are the good songs..no cursing.. but security should leave us alone enjoying the show..

  • by Raine57 on 2/19/18Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena - BinghamtonRating: 4 out of 5

Naught by Nature was great! The energy was on point and group did an amazing job of celebrating 25 years of hip hop. After the high energy of Naughty by Nature they lost the crowd once they slowed the energy down. Many concert goers started leaving and looking around the venue a few were sleeping. The sound could have been better for SWV (CoCo’s mic was too loud and in the front pit it drowned out the others). Overall, the concert was a must see.

I just love the 90s! What a great lineup and an excellent venue. The venue staff go out of their way to put on a great event.

  • Excellent show except for sound

by GallivantingGoddess on 7/28/16H-E-B Center at Cedar Park - Cedar ParkRating: 4 out of 5

The performers were great, the sound guy was deaf. Terrible terrible sound, static, couldn't hear singers sometimes. Sometimes too loud. Luckily, the artists were so good that overcame it, but the sound guy nearly ruined the show.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!
