This event was amazing! SO MUCH FUN. If you have a chance to catch the NSO, I highly recommend. What a fun way to see a movie.
I don’t ever want to watch a movie without an accompanying orchestra ever again.
The symphony was great. But bring back the espresso machine! The concessions bar with the espresso machine was closed, thus no latte. Caffeinate me!
It was so lovely to attend a live concert again and to experience the new performance space at Capital One Hall for the first time. My only disappointment was that there were no physical programs. I really enjoy referring to a program throughout the performance and would like to see at least an option for printed programs.
It was amazing! The conductor was energetic and succinct while the musicians were flawless in their execution. The trio of women were equally precise, spirited and a joy to hear.
Not too long for the Casual symphony attendee. String Queens are delightful! Price was right. What a nice event!
The Anthem is such an intimate theater for live music. The String Queens were a wonderful addition to the show. So great to be able to get out and listen to such talented musicians slay their craft even when it is dress-down Friday!
We had a terrible experience at the anthem. Well we did arrive late due to an overturned car on 395 we were willing to attend half of the concert. Unfortunately, when we got to the area there was absolutely no parking and we were with an elderly handicapped person and could not find a suitable place to park. Extremely disappointed!
Acoustics at the Capital One Center are terrible for an orchestra. Sound is dull and muffled. Program well performed and well conducted. And from long experience we know that the NSO performs brilliantly at the Kennedy Center. What a disappointment the venue created.
1. Capital One Hall was grand and acoustically well fitted. 2. The orchestra consisted of excellent players. 3. However the program was too slow and heavy for some music lovers, especially for young classical listeners. 4. Furthermore, the seats that we assigned was a regular chair, not a stadium seat, and the spaces between rows were so narrow that it was difficult for patrons who sit in the middle, to get in and out.
Beautiful concert! Highly recommended. I wish it had been longer! I will be coming back next year and I will probably go see them perform again at the Kennedy Center.
They didn’t just perform they interacted with each other and us in the audience.
Concert was great. We paid for parking and it was not obvious to us where to park. We mistakenly parked in the Wegmans lot.
Top flight musicians performing great works. Just the kind of show my husband and I enjoy. We are not crazy about the whole paperless thing. It is a hassle and slows down the line while the takers try to scan the ‘moving’ ticket on the phones. We also like a program in our hands. But the music was wonderful.
So this was my 4th event at Capital One Hall since it opened in October. Each time has been a great experience. I attended the grand opening show with Josh Groban and started the evening off with friends at Star Hill Biergarten enjoying great beer and nibbles. I rode metro from Reston to check that experience and it was great. Easy access to the venue from the McLean Metro station. My second event was the Fairfax Symphony with my 93year old mother, we had first row upper balcony seats and the view and acoustics were amazing. Waitress was my third event, and it had me laughing and crying, the cast and production were both excellent, but even more amazing-- first live theater in almost 2 years! For this symphony, again I took my 93 year old mother and she kept saying we were at the Kennedy Center, lol. This venue is modeled after the Kennedy Center in my mind- Concert Halls, Atrium and Terrace are all wonderful- So glad this option has arrived to Northern Virginia.
The performance was joyous, high energy and just plain fun!
The NSO did a wonderful job with their performances, the conductor was very lively and entertaining to watch, and the Capital One Hall is pretty. The woods used in the construction are very warm, and the decor theme is definitely a wood-warm tones palette.
Was very excited to attend the first performance of the NSO at the new Capital One Halls in Tysons. Venue parking was easy with prepaid mobile tickets - getting out was also pretty swift especially using the pedestrian door on level 5 which leads directly to the Halls. The performance was fantastic, and the NSO performed at their best. The venue was about half empty so we moved seats at the interval to test out the acoustics. Balcony right was a bit unbalanced, but balcony Centre (at the back) was perfect.
We have been on a trip with friends to visit my sister-in-law and decided to attend this concert, which featured my favorite symphony. The concert was terrific, the venue was nice and it was something to see the orchestra and conductor in casual clothing. Excellent!
Great concert! Great value for the NSO and fun and more casual venue. A must!
