  • Not what we expected...SO much better!

by The Flicks on 11/25/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

We had the BEST time! This was an incredible event and CHevy and his wife were so down to earth and open...and HYSTERICAL! We were laughing the entire time. We would LOVE to see this happen with other movies/actors/actresses as well!

  • Alabama Theater Rocks

by Bamared on 12/25/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Holiday film series is always a hit. Love the Wurlitzer, the sing along, the costumes, just good fun. Went for Die Hard and was so fun, went back next night for vacation. Staff organized and there to help. PRO TIP: Get there TWO hours before your event for easy street parking. You can go to the Paramount or Pizitz food hall for a bite before the show.

  • Christmas Vacation!

by Wendy on 12/25/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Such a fun night at the Alabama Theater to watch Christmas Vacation! Started off with an old Donald Duck cartoon followed by Big Bertha (Wurlitzer Organ) making her grand entrance. Gary Jones, organist, is very entertaining and hilarious. The audience sang Christmas songs and those who dressed up like Cousin Eddie, neighbors Todd & Margo, Clark, etc. went up on the stage. So fun!! Then movie did not disappoint-such a classic! Will go back again next year.

  • Fantastic Time

by Todd on 12/20/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

I have been coming to this for years and every year it just keeps getting better. Beautiful location and great crowds. Every year it’s a must stop and really makes the season. Will definitely be back next year. I brought friends here for the first time and they throughly enjoyed it .

  • Funny movie but too crowded.

by Huffy on 12/20/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 3 out of 5

Great movie. Good surroundings. Would rather pay more and be less crowded.

  • Definitely Recommend

by CG on 12/19/23Kalamazoo State Theatre - KalamazooRating: 4 out of 5

It was great watching this classic traditional movie with an audience that actively participated in the different well-known scenes. My only suggestion would be to have more games and contests to make it more fun and get the audience involved. Also, for the costume contest, you could choose a winner for each character. There were so many good costumes, I am sure it was hard to choose just one. In addition, many people were not sure how to vote or how the winner was chosen. Many people might not be tech-saavy and they could have the audience clap instead for who they want to win. Whoever receives the loudest applause could win. Overall though, we had a great time in a beautiful place. The theatre is about 100 years old, notoriously haunted, and was built to make you feel like you are outside under the twinkling stars.

  • Christmas Vacation

by Whitley on 12/19/23The Walker Theatre - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Went and checked out Christmas Vacation at the Walker Theater. Was a great experience. It was fun to watch such a classic with random people like it was the original showing. The experience from beginning to end was great.

  • Always a classic

    by Vardy27 on 12/19/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Alabama Theatre is always a great host, but especially around the holidays. The show was a sell-out. Our seats were great!

  • Theatre and movie great….parking a major problem

by Frameman on 12/16/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

Arrived an hour early in order to park close to theatre and to be able to take some holiday pictures inside the Alabama Theatre. No street parking was available and there were about 4 empty parking lots that security informed us were permit only and all vehicles would be towed Came upon a parking deck ~4 blocks away. We got in about 12 minutes before the movie started so needless to say, my wife was unable to take any pictures. The theatre really should contract with all those lots for use in the evening for events. Happy to pay for parking but due to this situation, it will a long time before we go back.

We have done this every year for many years and will continue! I Love going to the Alabama Theatre for the beauty and comfort. It’s a part of History that I hope will never go away! Great Job to the Staff and Merry Christmas

  • A fun crazy night

by Mina on 12/6/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 4 out of 5

Such great fun to watch Christmas Vacation and have Chevy Chase answer questions. It might even be better if more of the cast was there.

  • Such an Experience!!!

by Lisa on 12/6/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

The viewing of Christmas Vacation at Foxwoods Resorts in CT was incredible! I have watched this movie hundreds of times since my teens, but I have never experienced watching it like this. Every seat in the theater was a great seat with no blockage of the giant screen. The sound was spectacular! Watching the movie with so many other people, with all of us laughing at the same places, even saying, word-for-word, certain scenes that are and always will be epic! I am so glad I made the trip out to Foxwoods to experience this. Chevy Chase is such a classy guy and I am so happy I had this chance to meet him! Thank you Foxwoods for booking this event and thank you Chevy Chase for being the awesome actor and man you are!!

  • Great Night

Enjoyed watching the movie and the after with Chevy.

  • Save your money

by Danertot on 12/5/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 2 out of 5

Chevy is a bit old to be doing this. He only answered 4 audience questions and went off topic with every one of them. Very disappointed.

  • Awkward

by Emily on 12/5/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 3 out of 5

I’ll start with the good… Honestly this was a really cool experience that I’m not sure I’ll ever get again. The venue was so small that it really felt like you were one on one with Chevy. The bad… Chevy is NOT what you’d expect. He’s just older now so it was awkward to watch him try to answer the questions. He brings his wife out to help him and that’s nice. Overall I’m glad I went but definitely was not what I expected.

  • Foxwoods Should consider refunds

by Disappointed on 12/5/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 2 out of 5

Of course, the movie was great… Chevy Chase is an icon and his wife is lovely. As the spouse of a dementia, patient… Didn’t think the Q and A was worth $90 ticket price. Foxwoods should consider refunds. My husband, who attended as a birthday gift from me +2 other people… and who is unfortunately in the position Chevy appeared to be in, has a enough of his wits about him to have been very disappointed in the show… That’s the last thing we needed, especially for a birthday gift. It was said to me that it’s good that Chevy is still out there and part of society, and there is no shame in his cognitive decline, I agree, but we should’ve at least been made aware at some point of what we were walking into. $400 was pretty steep just to see the movie.

  • A must for true fans!

by The Big Cheese on 12/5/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

There is nothing like seeing a classic movie in a theater with a live audience. Brings the movie to life. I was able to share this amazing experience with my father who taught me everything I know about exterior lighting and introduced me to this American classic! Chevy gets confused and distracted easily as well as has trouble hearing but he is 80 years old so it's understandable. Once the moderator or his wife refocused him his stories and personality shine through!

  • Super Fun

by FrogQueen on 12/5/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

Great feeling of the movie everybody was in a wonderful mood, and then Chevy was the best. His wife was delightful as well.

  • The Movie was Great, But

by GJ on 12/3/23Chevalier Theatre - MedfordRating: 3 out of 5

Chevy was very disappointing. At first, we thought his antics were part of the act but then we realized that he just wasn’t with it. His dependence on his wife, his lack of coherent answers and his bad choices of subject matters resulted in many attendees leaving very early, especially those with younger and teenage children.
