Nashville SC History

Nashville SC joined Major League Soccer in 2020 as an expansion team, reviving the defunct United Soccer League squad sharing the same name. Nashville initially played at Nissan Stadium, home to the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, for their first two seasons before Geodis Park opened in 2022 as the team’s permanent home pitch.

Since entering MLS, Nashville SC have qualified for the playoffs every year between 2020 and 2023. In 2022, All-Star midfielder Hany Mukhtar received the league’s Landon Donovan MVP Award. The following season, Nashville added to their team accolades by securing a 10-match win-streak and advancing to second place in the annual Leagues Cup tournament.

  • Good event, getting out was bad.

It was great having the first USL game at Nissan Stadium, however parking was bad. You could find parking, no problem, however it was $30 to park near the stadium and it took nearly 40 minutes to get out of the lot after the game. This was with only 19k in attendance. That was a steep parking rate, considering my tix were $15/person. Parking should have been $10 and more staff available to get the lot cleared in a reasonable amount of time. Concessions in the stadium are improved from the last event I attended (over a year ago). Kudos to the new vendors.

Its definitely a different experience to root on a brand new club, but my wife and I have loved both of the home matches so far and the atmosphere was great!
