About the NASCAR XFINITY Series

The future stars of the NASCAR Cup battle against each other in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. For nearly four decades, the NASCAR XFINITY Series has been a proving ground for the top rising talent in stock car racing, giving them a chance to compete at the same venues and on the same weekends as the NASCAR Cup Series races. It continues a long tradition of support races that basically serve as an undercard to the NASCAR Cup events, as well as a companion to qualifying events that also take place the day of the NXS event.

History of the NASCAR XFINITY Series

The NASCAR XFINITY Series began in 1982 as the Budweiser Late Model Sportsman Series and evolved from the NASCAR Sportsman and Late Model Sportsman Divisions. Dale Earnhardt, whose father Ralph won the Sportsman Division title in 1956, won the first-ever NXS race, the 1982 Goody's 300 at Daytona, while driver/owner Jack Ingram won the inaugural Series championship the same year. The series would become known as the Busch Grand National Series, the NASCAR Busch Series, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series throughout the '80s, '90s, and '00s, and it gained a reputation both as NASCAR's minor league and a further opportunity for NASCAR Cup stars to excel on the track.

NASCAR XFINITY Series vehicles differ significantly from their NASCAR Cup counterparts, especially after the NASCAR Car of Tomorrow was introduced in 2007. But they're similar enough for NXS drivers to excel in the main circuit, with two-time NASCAR Cup champion Kyle Busch winning the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series title and a record 96 NXS victories. The NASCAR XFINITY Series playoffs were introduced in 2016 and feature a format similar to the NASCAR Cup Series, called Chase for the Cup. Tyler Reddick won the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship in 2018 and 2019 before transitioning to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020.

    Everything is expensive

by Raceguy on 2/27/24Atlanta Motor Speedway - Hampton

Tickets were fairly priced, the venue was clean, safe and getting in and out was well organized. My son and I felt safe the entire time. My only gripe, which this has nothing much to do with ticket master is the price of concessions were outrageous!

    Great Day!

by Old Fan on 2/27/24Atlanta Motor Speedway - Hampton

Been several years since I have been to a race at AMS. My wife & I got rained out in Daytona for the 500 & had to return home the day they ran the race. So to make up for missing out I purchased us tickets to AMS Saturday 02/24/24. We got to see a twin bill of races with both the Craftsman truck series and Xfinity series running on the same day plus NASCAR CUP series qualifying. We sat in the Champions grandstands, which now include more room and a shelf in front of each row for food, drinks, etc. to top it off the weather was great with a fantastic sunset and awesome racing!

The race was great! It wasn't super busy. We parked against the fence as close as one could get. Our girls age 7 and 10 loved it. We will be back!

    Great Great Time!

    by Chasman on 7/11/23

It was my family's first Xfinity series Nascar race. All of us range from 7 to 44 had a wonderful time. We were at the finish line, only one row up and highly recommend it; just prepare for dirt and rubber particles flying around. Overall experience an A+.

    Great Event

by Race Man on 6/13/23Sonoma Raceway - Sonoma

It was great all around from purchasing the tickets to selecting my seats. The food was a bit pricey, but I guess that's to be expected. I spent over $200.00 which includes some shopping items. Whew!!!! That's a lot. The event in general was exhilarating and entertaining. The sports announcers were pretty funny at times too. They add a nice dynamic with the their race commentary and banter with one another. I like how the parking was reorganize along with the shuttle system from the parking area to the front gate. Thank you.
