About

Nas on Tour

Long regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time, Nas offers audiences some of hip-hop's most powerful storytelling with classic, hands-in-the-air delivery. A live Nas set typically features both critical favorites and pop hits, including songs from his landmark 1994 LP Illmatic ā€” perhaps one of the most acclaimed rap debuts of all time ā€” and selections from the impressive 11 albums that followed. His evocative rhymes have been featured everywhere from New York's iconic Hot 97 Summer Jam to hip-hop package tour Rock the Bells to a performance at the Kennedy Center backed by the National Symphony Orchestra. Following the release of Nasir, a 7-song album executive produced by Kanye West, the lyrical titan will embark on a co-headlining tour with R&B legend Mary J. Blige.

Nas in Concert

Nas is considered by many to be one of the top five rappers, living or dead; he's a luminary beloved by rap royalty like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. Born Nasir Jones in 1973 (his father is jazz musician Olu Dara), he was raised in Queens, New York, at Queensbridge, a housing project whose deep role in hip-hop history would inspire his lyrics. Performing as the teenage MC Nasty Nas, he emerged with a spotlight-stealing guest verse on Main Source's 1991 single "Live at the Barbeque." Working with an all-star team of New York beatmakers (including DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor and Q-Tip) his debut album, Illmatic, was a critical sensation. In the 25 years that followed, Nas has released seven platinum solo albums, and one with supergroup The Firm alongside Foxy Brown and AZ. His empowering 2003 single "I Can," built on Beethoven's "FĆ¼r Elise," broke the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. Widely respected as a true hip-hop scholar and lyricist, he's appeared on songs with everyone from Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, Lauryn Hill and Kanye West to Amy Winehouse, Justin Bieber, Jack White and the National Symphony Orchestra.

    Still ILLMATIC and Killin' it

by The Doc on 3/3/23Madison Square Garden - New York

Nas did not disappoint. The show was incredible. Guess appearances by Mary J Blige, Slick Rick, AZ and Hit-Boy was an awesome added benefit. It you weren't there, you definitely missed out. Nas' category was so vast that there was something for the old school fans as well as the newer generation of hip hop fans.

    PHENOMENAL

by Ellebee75 on 3/1/23Madison Square Garden - New York

This show had EVERYTHING! From one of the greatest true turntable djs, DJ Green Lantern, to one of the greatest to ever rock a mike, Nas' one night only show was complete yet at the end of the night you still wanted more. He had pyrotechnics, guests, and nostalgia but for me the best part was he stood on that stage and destroyed it. His intensity fed our intensity and I am so grateful to have experienced it. Also I found a new beer, a mango wheat beer. It was delicious. Can't wait to come back and have it again.

by Sid on 2/28/23Madison Square Garden - New York

This concert was absolutely sensational! Nas is in what I like to consider the 2nd prime of his career. To still be in the game 30+ years later, selling out arenas like The Garden with a catalogue full of timeless TIMELESS hits is impeccable. Salute!

    Classic

by Hymein100 on 2/28/23Madison Square Garden - New York

This 1 is for the history books! The energy was great, everybody that was there were pure HipHop fans and weren't like the friends we have that claim to love HipHop but don't really support it and only listen to the old stuff from their high school or college days! NAS had breath control and did songs from now back to the 90s. NAS is on tour with Wu Tang Clan, who I like but seeing him at those shows is not the same, at all. He had more time because it was his own show and the stage set was better. It was Epic!!

    NaS @ MSG

by Knowledge on 2/28/23Madison Square Garden - New York

DJ Green Lantern set the mood off right with playing classic joints from the 90ā€™s. He know what the crowd wanted to hear. After a musical tour of the Boroughs, NaS came out. He started with the Kingā€™s Disease songs. The first part of the show was all new songs. He gave us a Mary J. Blige cameo, much to the delight of the crowd. After a brief intermission, he started with ā€œStreets of NYā€ which delighted the crowd. We got a Slick Rick cameo, which brought us to our feet. NaS also brought out AZ to perform a classic song from the Illmatic Album šŸ’æ. It was a great show. I will be back for the next show. Peace

    Nasty Nas is HOME!

by MCJ on 2/28/23Madison Square Garden - New York

Seeing Nas in a packed arena in our hometown was the icing on the cake for me. Even though the show started almost 90 minutes late, his DJ kept the crowd going as he spun tunes from our area. Everyone was mellow and no one acted up. Nas put on a great performance for about 2 hours giving a heartfelt thank you to the Queen, his Mom. My only wish is that he would have sang more of his older hits. While I am a big fan of Nas, I didnā€™t know the songs from his Kingā€™s Disease set (not sure where Iā€™ve beenšŸ˜¬). Nonetheless, I made it my business to be there and I was pleased For any rap concert, can we please eliminate the weed smokingā€¦ Thank you.
