About

Nancy Wilson in Concert

Nancy Wilson is a pioneer, bearing one of the most recognizable voices in rock. In 1974, the Seattle-born singer and guitarist started Heart with her sister Ann, blazing a trail for women in music by simply showing off her virtuosic guitar playing and innovative spirit. Her riffs on '70s anthems like "Crazy On You" and "Magic Man" are some of the most well-known licks in the American rock pantheon. As labels challenged the prospect of a woman-led rock band, Heart turned its original struggles into fuel for some of the decade's most legendary songs, with Wilson's heavy storming riff on "Barracuda" continuing to inspire up-and-coming musicians today thanks to its inclusion in the Guitar Hero series. Wilson didn't take frontwoman duties from her sister Ann often, but her tender vocal on the band's 1986 single "These Dreams" send the track to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wilson and her sister returned to their rootsier side in the '90s with the project The Lovemongers, which appeared on the movie soundtrack to the grunge-era chronicle ‘Singles," performing an intense cover of Led Zeppelin's "The Battle of Evermore," then releasing two albums and an EP. Meanwhile on her own, Wilson composed and performed music for a number of director Cameron Crowe's films, including the romantic comedy ‘Say Anything...' and the tour-life snapshot ‘Almost Famous.' Her 2009 album ‘Baby Guitars' places her expert six-string work into a new context: lullabies that are appropriate for all ages.

Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013, and three years later the group went on hiatus. Wilson hooked up with R&B singer Liv Warfield, formerly of Prince's New Power Generation, to form the supergroup Roadcase Royale later in 2016. The new band released its debut full-length, ‘First Things First,' in 2017. Wilson has been touring solo and with Roadcase Royale.

the concert was great. Nancy Wilson is very talented, down to earth performer. My only criticism is I wish the concert was a little bit longer.

We old fans of the 70s and 80s great rock music were so happy to sing, dance, and just have a great time with them. Terrific show. Love you, Nancy Wilson and band!

    Nancy Wilson's Heart

by Amy C - NadaOne1974 on 6/20/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

What can I say, this show was PHENOMENAL.. I have been a Heart Fan since i came out of the Cradle,, (Literally, since I was 5, and am now 48) and Nancy just blew it ALL out of the water... Kimberley Nicole is such a huge talent, and even though she has Ann Wilson's Shoes to fill.. I think she did an outstanding job Vocally. such a fantastic show.. the Sound System was perfect.. and I had 4th row floor seats.. Nancy can definitely hold her own!! <3 <3

    She hasn’t lost a step

by Christine on 6/20/23Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Nancy Wilson’s Heart did not disappoint. She is engaging and sweet and can still perform as well as she did years ago. Her voice is as clear and angelic as ever and the lead singer of her band without Anne was amazing as well. Great experience seeing her!

    Higher Expectations- Bethlehem, PA 6/18/23

    by Chris on 6/20/23

Waited to see Heart for a long time and I saw Nancy was touring I was so stoked. I went to the show and the back up singer took over show. Yes she was good but, Nancy was the reason I went to the show. Nancy didn’t sing enough and I don’t know why because Nancy is one of the best singers and guitarist in my eyes . Show was to short and no encore.

    Nancy Wilson's Heart band

by Steven on 6/19/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The venue was the Sound Waves theater at the Hard Rock Casino. Nancy was fantastic including her band. She couldn't stand because she injured her ankle days before. To bad she had this injury she had to stay in a chair. The music was great, two wings songs Band on the run and Let me roll it. My favorite was Even it Up.My friend and I were sitting in the 5th row very close to her. She is definitely still one of the best female rockers including her sister.

    Expected better.

    by Rescuelady3 on 6/19/23The Paramount - Huntington

I was excited to see nancy after just seeing joan jet last week tjr paramount is a great venue ,it’s small and sound like a great. But we were subjected to opining band that wasn’t great and waited until after nine for nancy to start .When she started the set she had a backup singer who turned into the front singer. She had a great voice but I came to see and hear nancy Wilson. And listen to her sing, I had also hoped to hear some real ICONIC SONGS. unfortunately they were few and far between and at ten after 45 min the show was over.

    Such a hostile venue.

    by C. B. on 6/18/23

Usherette yelled at me twice for taking excessive video. I had 2 videos totaling under 90 seconds. When I offered to show her, she said she was calling security. Never recommending this place to anyone.

    Who are these people?

    by C. B. on 6/18/23

The show starts out with a girl and a guy and a guitar. Yeah, they sound good playing songs we all know, but who are they, and where's Nancy? No word in any promo about an opening act.

    Good time, bad sound quality

by Fazio on 6/16/23The Paramount - Huntington

Nancy was very good, engaging, classy, fun and professional. Her band was very good although I wasn’t crazy about the other female vocalist trying to do Anne’s parts. The overall sound quality was muddy with too much reverb. Paramount Usually has good acoustics but it sounded like the mix was off. Overall had fun night listening to great Heart classics and some good classic covers Nancy performed.

    Great show, Great Venue!

by MJJ on 6/10/23The Avalon Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Nancy and her band played a very tight set to a warmly-receptive nearly sold-out audience. The Avalon Theatre, being fairly new, was acoustically good with great sightlines and comfortable seating. Even parking was a breeze! Nancy's new lead singer impressed many folks, including me.

Nancy Wilson’s Heart at Showbox Seattle

    by D. L. on 3/15/23

Concert was just ok. It could’ve been better if she would’ve done all the singing, She has plenty of Heart material to play but would rather have Kimberly Nicole of the voice singing Barracuda and Crazy on You, amongst others , plus the concert was only like 65 minutes long, This is what bugs me about Heart and the Wilson sisters, solo, or together, Seattle always seems to get what everyone else gets, nothing extra for the Hometown fans, Still love Heart

    by DJ on 10/27/22Potawatomi Hotel & Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Event Center - Milwaukee

Nancy Wilson is the Musical Heartbeat of Heart. Clearly. I thought her band was really tight and much better than expected. This was an absolutely great night of music.
