    Nanci Grifith is still shining!

by Anonymous on 6/27/11Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

The evening was wonderful! The outdoor venue (Minnesota Zoo) was spectacular, with birds seemingly singing along. Nanci was still as fun and gracious as I remember her, since I haven't seen her in over 15 years. She sang beautifully and interacted with the audience well.

I have seen her many times over the years and never get weary of hearing her standards or listening to her stories.

Nanci and the Kennedys: a beautiful combination

by CalvinTheoJack on 4/23/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Nanci was at her usual best and the Kennedys were such a welcome addition to the show. I missed the Blue Moon Orchestra but Mike on drums helped ease the pain. Great show!

    Nanci griffith still going strong

by scottlock on 4/22/11Birchmere - Alexandria

A blend of her old songs, some newer ones, some covers with her still clear, sweet voice made it a night to remember. What's up with all the old people in the audience? Oh yeah, I'm getting there too.

Nancy always puts on a great show, the interaction between her and the Kennedys seemed to lend a comfortable familiarity to the show.

    Great Show!

by madbelgian on 4/22/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Nanci Griffith was terrific. The show was everything I expected and more. The opening act, The Kennedys, were a nice revelation and merged seamlessly into Nanci's band. I loved the songs. I loved the stories. I loved the venue - the Birchmere! One start deduction for the atrocious chili but the beer was effective in washing it away.

Nanci Great - Food @ Birchmere Needs Help!

by CHWii on 4/22/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Nanci was terrific. Relaxed, heartfelt music that was a terrific listening and sharing experience. The Birchmere food is in desparate need of help! Really bad bar food.

    Nanci is still the BEST

by bernardfischer on 4/25/10The Canyon - Agoura Hills

Legendary Singer-Songwriter Nanci Griffith and her band played a lively 90 minute set, touching many of her Old Songs along with New ones from her latest CD. The crowd enjoyed Nanci's commentary and Folksy stories. Her Band was tight as always. Seeing Nanci perform is always a pleasure for us. Bernard

    Nanci Griffith is a masterpiece

by sniffa on 4/24/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

My husband and I had a memorable and inpsirational experience at this show. What a gifted artist - both musically and particularly in songwriting. You can feel her kindness and empathy and her story telling is sublime. Soooo glad we got to see her and her band.

    Nanci for President

by TheHaze on 4/24/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

Overall the show was good, and well paced. Would have like to of heard more "oldies" (no Blue Moon...lone star state of mind ..boohoo), and less from the new album.

Nanci Griffith & the Blue Ridge Allstars

by GroveHill on 11/18/09Asheville Civic Center - Asheville

Magnificent. Nanci & the boys did the Blue Ridge Parkway proud. These musicans are asgraceful, beautiful and inspiring as our Beloved Blue Ridge Parkway and I couldn't have imagined a better way to kick off the celebration of the 75th Anniversay of a crowning achievement in American History by creating and continuing to perserve this most precious piece of real estate.

Nanci Griffith in Asheville was great!

by Jboy1017 on 11/16/09Asheville Civic Center - Asheville

Nanci played in the Asheville Civic Center and we sat in the front row. It was intimate and personal as only she can deliver it. Some new, some old, and some in between. She definitely gives you your money's worth!

    Nanci as always, was AMAZING!

by travel55free on 11/15/09Asheville Civic Center - Asheville

This concert was a benefit for the 75th Anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway, so it was fitting that Nanci perform there. She picked a wonderful repotoire of her catalog, mostly having to do with the road, saying that over the years she has been inspired while driving this road. She also said that the parkway has been a friend while she was criss crossing the country alone early in her career. Never one to shy away from speaking out, she of course, chatted with the audience between songs. Her drummer of over 20 years, Pat McInerey, was with her as well as Thomm Jutz, guitarist and JD Brown, bassist.

Theme was dedication to the 75th anniversary of Blue Ridge Parkway. The diversity of the show provided good entertainment...loved the Blue Ridge Blue Grass. Of course the real draw was to see Nancy Griffith. She was great as always, but her set at maybe 1 hr was too short...so that was the only dissappointment of the evening.

Nanci was really loose at this performance and mixed some really old songs with songs from her new CD. It's a toss-up as to whether the stories that accompany each song are better than the (great) songs themselves. Had great seats . Love Town Hall. Nice and cozy.

    Nanci was a blast

by fauxart on 10/26/09Town Hall - New York

I travelled to NYC for the show at the Town Hall on Friday October 23, 2009. I had previously seen Nanci in September @ Santa Cruz, California. This was shortly after the release of The Loving Kind, and a recent foot injury. She was healed up and rolling in NYC...brought on opening act singer and some other guests..Loved It!

    Sound Was TERRIBLE

by JBIRD7 on 10/26/09Town Hall - New York

Nanci's voice was in great form, but did anyone do a soundcheck? The bass was booming and Nanci's voice was drowned out. People say that Town Hall doesn't have a bad seat in the house, but they do if you end up in orchestra right row K with a HUGE speaker system in your face. Nanci's song choices were great and her voice was strong, but it was no match for the bad job of sound mixing and overpowering bass lines and percussion. It was really a shame. People go to see Nanci to listen to her tell stories through her beautiful songs but no use trying to listen to a story when you can't hear the storyteller. :(
