About

The all-new, live stage show "MythBusters Behind the Myths," starring Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, co-hosts of the Emmy-nominated Discovery series MythBusters," promises to be an unexpected evening of on-stage experiments, audience participation, rocking video and behind-the-scenes stories. For the first time ever, fans will join Jamie and Adam on stage and assist in their mind-twisting and not always orthodox approach to science.

"MythBusters Behind the Myths" brings you face to face with the curious world of Jamie and Adam as the duo matches wits on stage with each other and members of the audience.

    MythBusters : Behind the Myths

by Anonymous on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

My 14 year old son described this event in one word - "Awesome"! Like the TV show, the hosts were fun and engaging and explained tricks done with real science. Also, it was nice to hear about the personal side of the hosts, as they opened the floor to questions for about 20 minutes. Very entertaining and funny!

Very fun event. Mythbusters in general is fun and their stage show was just as good. Defiantly recommended.

No new myths busted, but a great look at the show history, background, and characters. Great fun overall. If you are a fan, it's a must see.

    Good for kids

by 4thDGShow on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

I would definitely recommend this show to someone with a science curious child or a crazed fan of the show. As a casual fan, I pondered leaving at intermission. It wasn't bad in any way, just kinda gimmicky, like a magic show.

    Laughs, booms and interaction!

by redChev76 on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

If you're expecting live explosions, that's not going to happen. But you are going to see the behind the scenes view of what happens. Q&A with Jamie and Adam - lots of humor and some interesting technologies! I laughed the whole way through and had a blast!

    Mythbusters were great!

by Busterfan1 on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Jamie and Adam put on a great show. They are very funny just like they are on tv. They answered questions from the audience, gave a few poises for people to take pictures, and told some great stories. Highly recommended for families.

    the crowd!!

by luvsscience on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Jamie and Adams were entertaining but I have NEVER been in such a rude crowd. We left a bit early because I couldn't take the silliness anymore. Adult men acting like middle school kids. Whistling like at a ball park and commenting and whooping constantly. This was a Friday night at the Fox people, not mud wrestling at your local bar. I am from Ann Arbor and we do not behave this way at a nice theatre. It was not just the people near me either. It seemed like the majority of the people thought they were in their living room. It ruined the Mythbusters for me and those I was with. What a shame.

Never Too Old To Learn Something New

by ProverbialOldDog on 3/18/12Fox Theater - Detroit

These guys show science in new and fun ways. It's just amazing how you can let yourself be lifted 30 feet into the air held up only by the friction between the pages of phone books.

The show could not have been better, I loved it!

by BigScienceGeek on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Before the show I was wondering how Jamie and Adam were going to bring a filmed show to a theatre. Well I wonder no more because they did a fantastic job! I love Mythbusters and had a great time at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The show had everything from Q & A to hands on audience participation to clips of the show and Jamie and Adams behind the scenes comments. Next time they come to town I am getting front row seats. If you like the tv show you will love the live tour show. Thanks Jamie and Adam and all the crew for the show.

    Jamie and Adam were great!

by MsdgAam on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

The audience participation was great. Liked getting to hear them answer personal questions. My only complaint was that the sound system of their microphones did not carry well to our seats in Gallery A, so we missed some of the quick comebacks. But having them at the Fox was fantastic!!!!

    Loved it!

by Psyence101 on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

We had discussions with people around us and the responses were the same: the show was well worth the effort and expense. The only negative comments (and we agreed) was that there should have been one more experiment, and to have ushers equpped with wireless mikes so the people further back in the audience could have a chance at having their questions answered. The price of seats shouldn't determine who gets heard. All in all, the guys are personable and fun, and they were able to connect with their audience to bring Science and Physics to a level everyone could understand and appreciate. We would definitely see them again if they do another tour in the future.

    Fun night out

by snphlowr on 3/18/12Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Jamie and Adam put on a fun stage show and kept everyone engaged and entertained. The time went by and you had no idea you had been sitting for two hours. The laughter was real and genuine. The only downside was that the show seemed more geared to a younger audience-of which there was plenty at the Detroit show.
