I have always loved Mya. I have never known her to come to Detroit so when I saw she was coming…I HAD TO GET A TICKET. I was five rows back from the stage. I had a TIME!! She did not disappoint!!

Mya always gives a great performance and this was no different. I only wish she went longer but she definitely captures my attention as she sings her various hits. She still has all the dance moves and vocals to back up her gifted voice.

I have been a longtime fan of Mya's and, have been seeing her live since 2016 (Smoove Jones Tour). Hands down Mya is a 10/10 in all. She can sing..I mean saaang lol, dance, and an all around great performer. She is prompt and very professional/ loves her fans. She sings live, choreography has always been on point, outfits, dancers, live band; you name it, she does it. That is what makes her a 10/10 and sets her aside amongst the rest. I enjoy seeing her in concert, its always a pleasure and a treat.

  • A good night

The concert itself, was awesome..... I got to see some of my favorite singers, pretty up close and personal. My only complaints being that I had a front row seat... there were many times the big security guards were blocking or impeding my view of the concert. Only other complaint is that half way through the concert, I attempted to go grab a snack or drink... and all of the concessions had already closed.

Unlike others at this venue, she performed on time. Sounded great! Costume change and choreography! No complaints.

  • Great show to close out a venue era

Mya was great. She looked good and her dancers were incredible. The encore Chicago tribute was amazing. She was a great singer who should have been bigger during her day. The lack of original music was evident when she had to cover other artists songs. My advice to her is to change to a smoother version of R & B and write her own material. Sadly, B. B. Kings is closing and live music is dead in New York City.

  • The Smoove Jones Show, LIVE in DC - MYA!!!

by shysmile on 5/19/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Mya live on several occasions but I believe this show may top the list. She showed an incredible amount of love and energy for her hometown of Washington DC! It was such a lovely treat that she was accompanied by her dancers and a live band (which makes all the difference). THIS is the show that needs to be touring across the country, with her dancers and live band. She is independent and I am extremely proud of her. Was pleasantly surprised to see her perform quite a bit of material from her latest project, Smoove Jones. She did a WONDERFUL job!

  • Mya was amazing!!!!

    by Angelamariaj29 on 5/19/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Mya was amazing!!! Her vocals are so on point! She performed her classic songs as well as some of her new songs and songs that genuinely fans would know. Her dance moves were fierce as to be expected. Also, she dedicated a song to Aaliyah (At Your Best), she took a moment to dedicate to Prince and she sang a duet with her father, all were really heartwarming moments. Whenever you get a chance I say you should definitely DEFINITELY check out a Mya show!

  • Amazing Concert

by Onlyrealfan on 5/16/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

From great high notes to chic dance moves, Mya slayed. Even if you didn't know all of her songs, the ensemble of the band, dancers and lighting were beyond perfect and made you FEEL the music. The tribute to Vanity and Prince were dreamy. Mya intertwined her songs with lyrics and music from great artists like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu. She even sung some of her favorite songs from Robin Thicke, Andre 3000, SWV and Isley Brothers/Aaliyah.

  • She was a doll

by SMckenzie on 5/16/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Mya was extremely awesome to view. Her choreography was on point. Growing up listening and watching her a child, I didn't expect her to have the moves she did. She also incorporated and showcased local talent which was very diverse. It was definitely a grown up event. Classiness at its finest. She seemed so transparent in her performance too. She made me connect with her through her performance. I was thinking "Wow, she's so human but of course super talented". It felt like watching a friend or family member perform. I'll definitely go to her next show.

  • Mya is a class act

    by xriddick13 on 5/16/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Mya has been one of my favorite female R&B singers for a very long time. After all these years she didn't disappoint, she looked great, she sang her heart out and she dance like she was still 18 yrs old. I had a chance to meet he afterwards...very sweet and kind person. She is the whole package.

  • Mya was amazing!

by BonjourJ on 5/16/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Mya's performance was so much fun! I sang and danced the entire show. She sings beautifully live and dances with background dancers. The live band was amazing as well. Loved that she performed many of her older songs as well as new material from her Smoove Jones album which I love. I would definitely love to see her perform again! I also stayed for the Meet and Greet after the show and took pictures with Mya. The venue was also great!! Loved the menu and amazing servers

  • Strong performer.

by Anonymous on 2/13/12University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - BuffaloRating: 4 out of 5

Mya came extremely late by one hour (really not professional nor fashionable), although Whitney Houston did die like 30 minutes before she was set to perform. She played a myriad of her hits from the 90's and early 2000's, and some new songs as well albeit she was kind of humerously self deprecating with her career establishing hits modifying lyrics to match her current size, "whose draws are these? U kno I wear a size 6 (instead of 4) now." overall, it was a good performance and she was personable enough to take pictures afterwards, though her security was overly strict and intimidating.
