I think that too many of the acts were a bit drawn out. Should have talked less and sung more. The actor that played Eliza Doolittle and the one who played Freddy had great voices.
Such a classic show! The Fox is always a gorgeous venue. The two leads were so much like Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn! Beautiful singing voices. Staging was good and clever, fun, choreography. Excellent evening...loved the ticket deal we got, too!
first visit to e j thomas! big traffic jam trying to get into garage, so we parked in surface lot one block away. no big deal. we will get there earlier next time. thank goodness it wasn't raining. easy online transaction to buy tickets and pick them up at will call. we marveled at the talent, energy, and especially the singing voices of the actors! hard to believe they were in Detroit Saturday afternoon for another show. we received good value for our entertainment dollars Friday night!
My Fair Lady was grand. The costumes and the dance numbers were wonderful and well corographed. We enjoyed the music and the singing-and had us humming our way home.
"My Fair Lady" was an excellent production! We thoroughly enjoyed it!!
I"ve seen this in many settings and playhouses and this was very well done! What a bright and upcoming star. Definitely a "must see"!
They played their parts great. Felt like I was watching th movie. I loved every bit of it. I would definitely go back!
The cast did a great job here. I have seen a dozen or more MY FAIR LADY plays and this one stands at the top.
Performance was excellent! Singing and dancing was lively and entertaining.
Aurora was excellent, what a voice ! Best wishes to her in the future. . .
Tried to prepare myself by viewing this as DVD. Movies surly pale compared to seeing this live performance. All performers were truly professional. You will thank yourself many times over for making the effort to see this one. It's so easy to say "great", but to see "great" is so much more meaningfull and long-lasting! George Bernard Shaw would have been proud of these actors and their com- mitment to stay true to his Pygmalian.
The recent production of My Fair Lady was a weak and high-schoolish presentation that would possibly have been acceptable for community theater, but NOT for a professional touring company. The music was cheesy (was that 6 piece orchestra?), the sets, costumes and lighting were lousy. Special effects were non-existant. The acting was fair-at best. Nothing remarkable or interesting here. I will think long and hard before going back to E J Thomas for another "Broadway Show."
