Too long, and the ending was different from the original.
Cadillac Palace - Chicago
I saw a theater production My Fair Lady in 1965 when I was a young girl, and it was magical. I was so looking forward to sharing the same experience with my 10-year-old granddaughter, but this production fell flat. Instead of a love story, this was a politically correct version of female empowerment that lacked entertainment value. My granddaughter fell asleep during the second half, and I couldn't blame her.

Loved it so much! I actually wished Alfred P. Doolittle weren’t SO polished but everyone else was absolutely perfect! Such beautiful music and costumes and sets to go along with the outstanding performances by the cast (and crew!). A very enjoyable evening!!

A Joy
Cadillac Palace - Chicago
A joy to enjoy live theater again, especially a rousing musical. Actors playing Eliza and Freddie have delightful singing voices, Freddie especially unexpected. Stage sets are inventive. Worth waiting two and a half years to see rescheduled (pandemic shutdown) play.

Let Down
Cadillac Palace - Chicago
Actors, orchestra, set design were great. Music and singing were the height of the performance. Disappointing that the writer(s), producers and director had to change the ending to try and ‘fit in’ with current white male bashing. Original Doolittle character was a strong, independent woman whether she was with a man or not.

Why change the ending to a popular famous show. It didn't go with the rest of the show to have her walk off stage at the end. We should have read the reviews before deciding to go.
From Lincoln Center Theater that brought you The King & I and South Pacific, comes "a sumptuous new production of the most perfect musical of all time" (Entertainment Weekly), Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY. Director Bartlett Sher's glowing production is "thrilling, glorious and better than it ever was" (New York Times). "Every so often a revival comes along that reminds you how indispensable great theater can be" (NY1).
Boasting such classic songs as "I Could Have Danced All Night," "The Rain in Spain," "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" and "On the Street Where You Live," MY FAIR LADY tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a young Cockney flower seller, and Henry Higgins, a linguistics professor who is determined to transform her into his idea of a "proper lady." But who is really being transformed?!
