Impressive
James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago
This is the first time we have seen the broadway production of My Fair Lady. We thoroughly enjoyed it and were mezerized by both the actors/actresses and props. This made us excited to see another broadway show by this production. Absolutely loved it!

My fair lady musical was more than just “fair.”
James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago
We loved it! I do not recall ever seeing the movie as a child(too young), but the songs seem familiar overall. The talent was great. Our only complaint is in relation to the audio. It was very clear when singing, but a bit challenging to hear dialogue at times. We were on main floor center. Recommend seeing this

Really Good
This was my first time seeing this production outside of the movie, which is one of my favorites so I know it inside and out. Unfortunately Rex Harrison does such a phenomenal job as Professor Higgins it can't be matched. Jonathan Grunert, while not bad to look at, did not have the grit for the part. He had a superman appeal to him that was kind of distracting and not believable but his singing was fine. The issue with Eliza was not the performance as much as it was costume. Her gowns were supposed to stand out for the ooohs and aahhhs but they didn't and it made her average. An A+ for Ms. Torres' singing. She nailed it. Loved the set design. Overall I enjoyed it, I just couldn't stop comparing it to the movie.

Really enjoyed My Fair Lady! The actors, the costumes, the music were all great! The sets were wonderful and so clever to move them to music, thus creating a perfect flow into next scene!

Just OK
Cadillac Palace - Chicago
I know Rex Harrison is a tough act to follow but Laird Mackintosh does not even come close. Sheree Ahmed has a great voice but her acting skills are not so well developed. Kevin Pariseau was excellent as Pickering. Martin Fischer was miscast as Alfred P. Doolittle since there is a real cognitive dissonance with Alfred Doolittle being black and Liza his daughter being white. Ditto with Mrs. Eynsford-Hill and Freddy.

The leads did a superb job. Parental warning regarding “I’m getting married in the morning” I was so glad I didn’t bring my kids.

Great cast/ Production
Cadillac Palace - Chicago
We felt fortunate to get good tickets last minute to see My Fair Lady. They did a great job! The set was awesome, and the performers/ Orchestra pit were great. Entering the theater was not inviting. We were there over 1/2 hour early and there was alot of yelling from security telling people to move forward,,, There were very few there, so it was no rush. I guess I am used to being greeted. It was the same experience inside. They had a person yelling into a megaphone with the same unfriendly unwelcoming tone. During the intermission it was the same thing dismissively yelling at people to stand against the wall while waiting for the restroom... A smile or pleasant tone goes a long ways. The play was wonderful!

From Lincoln Center Theater that brought you The King & I and South Pacific, comes "a sumptuous new production of the most perfect musical of all time" (Entertainment Weekly), Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY. Director Bartlett Sher's glowing production is "thrilling, glorious and better than it ever was" (New York Times). "Every so often a revival comes along that reminds you how indispensable great theater can be" (NY1).
Boasting such classic songs as "I Could Have Danced All Night," "The Rain in Spain," "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" and "On the Street Where You Live," MY FAIR LADY tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a young Cockney flower seller, and Henry Higgins, a linguistics professor who is determined to transform her into his idea of a "proper lady." But who is really being transformed?!
