About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

They sound just as good live as they do on their albums. I've seen them multiple times in concert, and MCR is ALWAYS worth the money. Fantastic band with genuine members. Would highly recommend.

    by Felix M. on 5/17/20Rating: 5 out of 5

It was a crazy mad dash for tickets on January 31st. But this show is still on and there's plenty available to choose from now! Three months later, I was able to get general admission seats, and I've but my other seat tickets up for sale in a close section. Don't lose hope. Go killjoys! Go black parade! Three cheers! Bullets and love!

  • My first concert.

by Anonymous on 5/8/15Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

My Chemical Romance was the first band/artist i saw live. It was my first concert every and i don't regret any thing they were so high energy and they ROCK the stage. ...I was in 7th grade the date was may 9th 2008 and I still remember it to this day. I am so happy i got to see them live before they split up.

  • GREAT!

by Emmaaa on 4/25/13Jones Beach - WantaghRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was part of the Honda Civic Tour with Blink 182. This was my second MCR show. They only got to play about 8 songs and didn't even do their hits Welcome to the Black Parade and Sing. this is because it started to rain and Blink had to come on after. Overall a great show but not enough material was played.

  • MCR is the BEST!

    by Emmaaa on 4/25/13Terminal 5 - ManhattanRating: 5 out of 5

I always loved MCR but this was my first concert for them. I still regret not going to the Black parade tour but was only in 5th grade then, so... This concert was amazing! they played about 22 songs and it was nonstop energy and fun! The only bad thing was the venue. It was EXTREMELY hot and I thought that I was going to pass out. Even Gerard kept complaining about the heat. Also the sound quality was lacking but I did like that the venue was small and you can see the stage from anywhere.

  • Unforgettably amazing. Would see again.

by AutumnSkye on 10/9/12Bamboozle Festival - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

I saw them at Bamboozle right after AAR [all american rejects] and it was way better than I expected, and I want to see them again SOOOOON. They played all the classics along with some new songs. Singing along is fun and I almost cried with joy when they came on.

  • My Chemical Romance saved my life

    by Jennycho13 on 8/16/12Selland Arena - FresnoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw MCR live in Fresno, California on March 14, 2007. That was 5 years ago! I STILL REMEMBER ALL OF THE CONCERT TO THIS DAY!!! It was an amazing concert. even my mom enjoyed it. We weren't on the floor because it's ridiculously crowded and mosh pits are extremely dangerous for a small Asian like myself. First row would have been even more amazing! They put on a great show. At the time they were promoting "The Black Parade" and then they performed encores of their old songs. Overall an AMAZING LIFE CHANGING concert. I can't wait to see them live again! <3

  • Worst live band I have ever seen, w/o exception

by agreendc on 7/18/12Darien Lake - Darien CenterRating: 1 out of 5

I saw them open for Blink 182 at Darien Lake in upstate NY last summer (2011). It is hard to describe how horrible they were... I will preface this by saying that I was never a big MCR fan, but I like that genre of music well enough. I have liked all of their singles, but never really listened to a lot beyond that. They were bad enough in concert that it was hard to tell what song they were playing... they would play something like 'I'm not Alright' and you could barely tell what it was. I would absolutely NOT recommend anyone see them in any circumstance. If they are opening for a band that you like, stay at your car and pregame. It was that bad, and I LOVE live music of any variety, I am not a hard critic.
