About

My Chemical Romance are a rock band composed of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, MCR have become highly influential for their blend of rock, pop-punk and emo music along with unflinchingly open lyrics and theatrical live performances. Beginning with 2002’s I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, MCR have released four studio albums, two live recordings and three compilations. The band unveiled their major label debut, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in 2004 behind their first charting singles, “I'm Not Okay (I Promise),” “Helena” and “The Ghost of You.” In 2006, MCR’s third album The Black Parade reached a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100. After touring 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, MCR did not perform together again until 2019, followed by a reunion world tour between 2022 and 2023. The band headlined Las Vegas’ When We Were Young Festival in 2024. In 2025, My Chemical Romance embarked on a tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album, The Black Parade.

  • Aging like fine wine

by Like ghosts in snow on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This was an expensive one.. but MCR delivered my money's worth and beyond. What an honor to see the band that single handedly got me through my teen years, returning decades later on the biggest stage in their home state, a stone's throw from the grungy places I grew up watching them. Their showmanship and creativity is unmatched, and the crowd was buzzing with human electricity. We were treated to 2 full sets, one being the entirety of the Black Parade (including a dystopian background narrative ) and then a throwback to their less polished days on a smaller stage, including deep cuts off their debut album. The band members were all tighter than ever and were an absolute pleasure to watch as they were very visibly enjoying themselves. I believe this band will go down as one of the best of our generation. We are lucky to have them. Welcome home, MCR. Long live the black parade.

  • AMAZING!

by Marcella Rocco on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

It was the best day of my life! My Chemical Romance was better than ever! The only somewhat annoying thing was the arrogance of the security at MetLife; other than that, the night was unforgettable!

  • Worth the Hype

by Meli R. on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This show was amazing, from start to finish. I had seen MCR a few years ago and was kind of disappointed by the low energy of the show. I had been a huge fan of their early days and was expecting the same level. Well seeing them this past weekend reignited my passion for them. They really brought it. I was standing and singing along the entire time. The theatrics were fun and interesting. The energy was amazing. Worth all the hype and the money.

  • The best concert of my life

    by Melizzie27 on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Been a fan for over 20 years. It was my first time seeing MCR live. Gerard’s voice is out of this world. All of the songs sounded immaculate (they are incredible musicians.) I cannot describe how much I enjoyed it. Long Live the Black Parade!

  • MCR at MetLife

by Ashley Salazar on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Loved seeing My Chemical Romance again for the 2nd time!!! Especially since they got stadium tours and loved how this tour was the black parade tour. Loved everything they did.

  • Incredible Night!

    by Cuccicoo1002 on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Great experience - My Chemical Romance is held deep in the heart of so many. To be at their show in NJ (their hometown) was incredible. The performance was amazing, and while they tried to stay in character for “The Black Parade”, it seemed like they could barely contain their smiles. They truly all looked happy and soaking in the moment. Having a 60,000 person hometown crowd singing with you - multiple times Gerard let the audience sing the melody and he dropped to a harmony - loved this. Wow, what a moment. If you can… GO.

  • Phenomenal Performance

by Teresa K on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing MCR and the performance was epic. The production was so well done and the band sounded better than ever. I live in NYC and didn’t know what to expect of the venue, but METLIFE stadium was great. It was extremely clean and all of the staff were kind & courteous. Security was no joke, but I felt extremely secure that they went to such extraordinary measures. It was magical watching MCR under the stars on a gorgeous summer night. Unforgettable experience!

  • The Best Concert Experience of my Life

by Taylor on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was EVERYTHING. The theatrics of the entirety the The Black Parade, to the incredible performance from the b-stage set. This is MCR at their absolute best.

  • Outstanding home show for our Jersey band 🤩

by Alisa on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome home show! Let me begin by saying in Jersey we feel a certain kinda way about our home bands. They’re family. They’re a part of our DNA. The NJ fans were already pumped up (costumes, makeup) and had never seen Black Parade performed in its entirety, complete with a Broadway style stage show and got a real treat! Amazing energy full of happiness & JOY! Singing every word At the top of their lungs. At the end, last song of the night, they did a rousing rendition of Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer -and I tell you - if Met Life had a roof it would’ve blown off! The stadium shook like a 9.5 earthquake and the fans singing at the top of their lungs & dancing down the ramps & steps of MetLife all the way out to the parking lot was absolutely the most beautiful thing of JOY I’ve ever witnessed. Genius move on MCR’s part as they had once opened for Bon Jovi back in 2007. A full circle home town moment that I, and the Jersey crowd will not forget!Welcome home MCR!

  • Phenomenal show

by Tempest on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

My chemical romance are phenomenal performers! They turned this anniversary tour into an entire production with actors, a beautiful opera singer, orchestral backup, and clips/pictures that tied it all together. Plus some absolutely stunning, and quite hot, pyrotechnics. How they werent passing out in the midst of all that given the heat we felt 50ft from the stage we will never know. But truly it was wonderful! They played the entire Black Parade album in order and the crowd was singing along with every word. The echo of the stadium provided a perfect background! Then they did essentially an entire second set list with 10+ songs from their other albums and ending with Living on a prayer. Which was a wonderful way to end the evening! Couldn't recommend them enough, Ive seen them for every tour they've done since 2006, and I've never had anything but a 10/10 experience!

  • Epic historic core memory

by Mynameisjeff on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

The best show I have ever been to in 25 years !!!!

  • Amazing show

by Lee on 8/12/25MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Theatrical, well made, the band sounds as good as the album, and they looked like they were having the time of their life on stage. Shout out to Thursday and Death Cab for Cutie for also killing it and for the staff inside the stadium at Metlife being super organized and ready to help.

  • My Chemical Romance MetLife stadium

This band rocks, the bands fans rock, the show rocks! It was well put together. Of note I did have nose bleed seats, however my daughter and her friend were able to get closer seats. The experience was very smooth.
