    Musiq Did NOT IMPRESS

by PHI613 on 2/28/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Last night was my first Musiq concert so I was definitely excited. I arrived in good timing and I was highly disappointed at the atmosphere. Many seats were empty on the balcony and people on the floor level where just standing around. Musiq was two hours late in preforming. His new artist Taj Infinity preformed to break the ice of totally pissed off fans yet many were still not impressed because she was dressed like a stripper from the corner GO-GO bar. Many people started to boo, highly impatient and disappointed. Once Musiq did come out and preformed he really tried to pick the crowd up at that point. He sang through the majority of his songs although it seem very quick. At the end he said good bye...Seriously he did and ran back out to do ONLY ONE MORE SONG!! Now seriously afte having people wait two hour, so whom drove from out of town. DEFINITELY NOT IMPRESSIVE!!!

    Musiq Soulchild was Great!!!1

by nelly1130 on 2/28/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The Musiq Soulchild event at the House of Blues in Atlantic City was great! My best friend and I drove from Washington, DC to witness some real SOUL music and we really enjoyed ourselves. Musiq Soulchild sung all our favorites and his selections flowed smoothly. There was an artist by the name of Taj Affinity that performed and she was not up to par. If she would stand idle and sing instead of trying to be cute and sexy, her voice would have sounded better. Everyone in the audience was irritated to watch her perform and were booing her off the stage; so that was the only downfall. She tried but she needs a little more practice in front of an auduence that did not pay to see a performance; I would have rather his other group Aries perform. My only gripe is that the House of Blues did not check our tickets, so anyone could have randomly attended the event. It made individuals that paid for the event upset because anyone who knew that the event was going on could come upstairs and walk in. The security never checked our ticket stubs to assure that we paid for the event.

    Musiq was great!

by BrittLove on 2/28/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The show and the band was great. Musiq is SUCH a talented live singer. He doesnt half step when it comes to vocals. The only cons were that he took waaay to long to come out and his opening act was okay... But his show itself was awesome!

Musiq was great but the doors opened at 8pm and the opening act started at 9pm and she was terrible, then Musiq didn't come on stage until 10pm. HOB venue has a huge standing area and guest don't mind standing to see the performer but the wait time was too long and the crowd got restless.

Musiq is a heck of a performer!

by NYNY25 on 2/28/10House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Despite the fact he kept us waiting a very long time before he came out to perform, the overall performance was great. His vocals are unbelievable..I love his charisma also..However I would strongly suggest he be on time!We waited over a hour before he came out to perform, standing listening to music that would put you to sleep.

His opening act was a "hot mess," and was also his back up singer. And he doenst sound anything like his album and made the audience sang most of his songs. I still love Musiq but I will stick to listening to him on my CD

    Musiq Soulchild

by Anonymous on 1/3/10Fox Theater - Detroit

I was very disappointed with the concert. I came to hear the beautiful voice of Musiq Souldchild but what I got was loud, bass driven, distorted music from the band and the speakers!! Why would you drown out the Artist voice? Please turn the music down and allow the audience to hear the Artist.

    Needed more time with Musiq!

by katdoll on 1/2/10Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

I am a big Musiq fan! However, I felt Genuine stold the show over Musiq! ... I think there was too much time on stage for Genuine and Rahsaan and not enough stage time for Musiq! The band and vocalists seemed to drowned him out too and I was five rows from the stage! Musiq is a master, but this performance was not his best... I loved seeing him, but was slightly disappointed at the same time because I know his work/performance could have been better. I was definitely see him again, but it has to be HIS peformance and his alone, "no stage sharing"!..

    Concert ruined by sound crew

by Drobin22 on 1/1/10Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

What would have been an ecelent concert was ruined by sound crew. Microphones were either turned off or set at low levels making it imposible to hear artist because base levels were so high. At one point, following intermission it took the sound crew 3 minutes to get the mic turned on for Coco, the MC.

    Feels Good was awesome!!!

by Mella2010 on 12/31/09Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

The concert was a phenomenal experience. I took my little sister for New Year's Eve as a sista hangout night because she is too young to really hang. She was amazed. Each artist brought it last night. We were snapping our fingers all night. Neither of us could stay in our seats the whole night. We even enjoyed Musiq's deut with his new artist Tajinfinity. Everyone should experience this show.

    I Love Musiq

by MylasttriptotheJoe on 12/31/09Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Everyone was nice. The audio was nice on the two opening acts. When it was Musiq's turn to sing they turned it up too loud and some of the things he was singing I couldn't hear. There was also a hissing in the speaker for a while but other than that the concert was great. When Guinwine sang "Pony" the whole mezzanine shook from people dancing. Aaaarrrggghhh It was scary for a minute. Also Musiq featured one of his new artist on his new label. Her song was nice but her outfit was a little strange. But I overlooked it after she sound pretty good with the duet with Musiq.

    Surprised!

by Ysiad on 12/31/09Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

I didnt expect for Ginuwine to be the highlight for me. I enjoyed Rahsaan Patterson very much but he ended his set unexpectedly and could have song way more songs. Musiq was JUST PLAIN LOUD!! I couldnt enjoy it because the back ground vocals and guitars were drowning him out. He sang too many unfamiliar songs instead of jams that we know and love.

Musiq gave a wonderful performance , but he band was a little over the top. They were so loud some times they almost drowned out musiq singing. Rashaan Patterson was good also and I would go to see all three of them again

    Ginuwine was best

by RBfan on 12/31/09Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Ginuwine was great, but background instrumentation was too loud for Rahsaan & Musiq, couldn't hear their voices clearly

    Great talent, mediocre show

by Sinni on 12/31/09Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

I was really lloking forward to seeing Rahsaan Patterson and Musiq perform! I'm not a fan of Ginuwine, so his performance was not going to impact my experience either way. One disappointment was the lack of a full house. I guess since the show fell between Christmas and New Year's Eve, it amounted to poor ticket sales. The other disappointment was Rahsaan's set. Not only was it short, but he also didn't do some of his biggest crowd pleasers. I'm a big fan of his, so that really left me less than pleased. Musiq was great--very energetic, did some old stuff and new and really made the show exciting as a headliner should do.

    Great musicians

Musiq was great as always. Liked Rahsaan P also. Seemed they were under a time crunch though.

I very much enjoyed this concert. Each act brought something different to the performance. I would have liked to see a female artist in the tour line up though.

    Musiq disappointment

by Musiqsucked on 12/31/09Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

The opening act Genuwine was better than the headline artist Musiq. The sound was awful. Too loud, too much bass. Could not hear vocals. What were the sound engineers doing? Musiq didn't even sing. Must be a studio artist. Overall, the concert sucked.

    Not Good @ All

by DisappointedNDet on 12/31/09Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

I love all three of the vocalists that were on the show, however, the show was COMPLETELY disorganized! Ginuwine did an excellent job opening the show, but Rahsaan Patterson only sung five songs at the most and then just walked off the stage when his time was up! No 'good night', no 'thank you for coming', nothing. He simply said 'Alright, my time is up' and walked off the stage! I thought he was joking until his band members started packing up their instruments! Musiq has an awesome voice, but he didn't sing enough of his older hits, overall, I feel like I was cheated! Had this been a performance at a little night club, I might have felt differently; but at this price point and at the Fox Theater, I felt like the fans deserved more! I will definitely NOT be going to another one of their concerts!
