Muse in Concert
Armed with guitars, synths, and one killer falsetto, British rockers Muse have been playing and performing like it's the end of the world since the mid-1990s. The trio of lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dominic Howard first came together in Devon, England, as goth band Rocket Baby Dolls. At the time, their riveting showmanship on stage was already starting to show: In 1994, they won a local "battle of the bands" contest, switched their name to the trimmer and tidier Muse, and have since skyrocketed into one of the most electrifying stadium acts in the world.
Over their first few years, they played gigs around England and eventually recorded their first set of material, a self-titled EP, in 1998. But it wasn't until follow-up EP ‘Muscle Museum' that they first reached the NME Indie Singles Chart, and started accumulating comparisons to Radiohead. Their 1999 debut album ‘Showbiz' would follow, and its sci-fi-inspired alt-rock landed them on numerous European charts. Muse's bombastic eclecticism would only grow from here. Their next round of albums incorporated more touches of classical music, church organs, Mellotrons, and various experimental effects, and by their third album, ‘Absolution,' they'd kicked off a consistent streak of topping the U.K. charts.
Since 2006's ‘Black Holes and Revelations,' they began to conquer the U.S. as well, and their live shows became more and more extravagant as their music became more and more dystopic. The high-tech worldwide tours backing 2009's ‘1984'-inspired ‘The Resistance' and 2012's ‘The Second Law' would prove them to be a must-see event, with massive light displays and film projections, pyrotechnics, and even an LED suit for Bellamy. Their next album, ‘Drones,' scored them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2015, and gave them a good reason to incorporate real drones into their Drones Tour. Muse would continue on the surreal sci-fi path with 2018's synth-pop release ‘Simulation Theory' and a 2019 tour — quite possibly their most mind-blowing yet.

The best concert I ever seen!!! We drove from San Diego, CA to Phoenix , AZ 6 hours there and back. Totally worth it!!!!
The hype definitely lived up to its name. Muse itself was just outstanding. Nonstop music, the band brought it hard. Well worth the price I paid for the ticket, I was entertained the entire night!
Muse is amazing and they play so well live! The show was awesome.
The entire set-list was amazing, every song was perfect and the set was the coolest I have ever seen
Muse was amazing! I loved every minute of their performance! I was on ground floor, and the only down side to that was struggling to see the stage clearly from all the tall people in front of me. Besides that something the band could try next time is to speak to the audience more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise, that concert was banging! I can't wait till they come back to PHOENIX! WOOOOO!!!!!!
Muse, my favorite band. This concert was definitely the best one I've ever been to. It was just beyond words. Simply breathtaking.
This concert was everything I was hoping for and more! Muse rocks and it was such an awesome show! I would see them again and again! Love MUSE!
Amazing performance! Muse does an amazing job at blending musical genres and the put on a wicked show! Loud, rockin out, rebellious group that keep you entertained from beginning to end! The laser light show was incredible... They certainly outdid themselves. And including Silversun Pickups in the mix is pure genious! Two of my favorite groups of all time! Loved the show!
IT was mindblowing. I am not the kind of girl who cries at concerts (I've been to many), but when those towers lit up and they played Uprising, tears of joy were streaming down my face as I screamed the lyrics. Going to this concert was the best decision I've made.
Muse came onstage and the energy was intense right away. The set was amazing. The visuals were great. I could not help moving to the musing and smiling the WHOLE time. All my favorites, both played on the radio and not, were performed. I was not disappointed AT ALL.
Muse was totally worth the $45 charge for the nose bleed seats! They really put on a great show! Loved the lighting affects and set set up!
We were seated the third row from the ceiling at the Key Arena. Despite this, the show had so much impact . His voice is as good as the recorded version of the songs for the whole two hours - that's pretty rare. The light show is fantastic! It's like a very sophisticated Burning Man experience. Video screens lit up each side of the pedestals they were standing on, with the images projecting the story of their lyrics. I just thought it was all done quite well.
Muse as always, was AMAZING! The opening band Silversun Pickups was also very good. US Airways Arena is a great place to catch a game or a concert. We had a rowdy neighbor problem that was taken care of by the ushers and security in a quick and discreet manner. We had a great time! Muse rocks!!!!
I didn't really care for Silversun Pickups, the opening act. However, Muse more than made up for it! By far the best concert I have ever been to! They had a great setlist with something from just about every one of their albums.
Everyone must see Muse before they die. This needs to be on everyones bucket list.
Not only does Muse make incredible music, but they put on such amazing shows. I have now seen them perform twice, and was never dissapointed. They have such a stage presence that it gave me chills. Despite my feet being numb from standing and jumping, my hands stinging from clapping so hard, and my voice hoarse from all the screaming and singing, I didn't want the show to end. I cannot wait to see them again!
By far the best concert I have ever seen! The light show blew us away from the very start of the night. They played flawlessly throughout the night including every song you would want to hear and them some. The interludes were amazing as well. Just a freakin' amazing night!
I saw Muse last night at US Airways. They were amazing, but the venue was horrible. The tickets were overpriced & I sat on the "uppper level" where I had to sit the whole night (and I wanted to dance!) Muse, however, was made the night worth it. Matt could really sing, and I adored all the songs they played. Not to mention, the set & lights were supercool! I'd love to see Muse if they came back to AZ, but I would skip the show if it were at US Airways again.
Among the greatest artist that I have seen in live performance, Muse stands high. Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen, Rolling Stones, and yes, even Elvis, just to mention a few. Matt Bellamy's vocals soared over a backdrop of unexpected rhythms and explosive musicianship brought to life by the entire group. The light show and visuals were stunning, but more than gratuitous. They enhanced the performance and added meaning without distracting from it. I expected a great deal from this concert, but it delivered much more than I could have imagined.
