Municipal Waste in Concert
These raucous metallers have been called crossover thrash and party thrash, and it's clear that those terms aren't mutually exclusive. Formed in 2000 in Richmond, Virginia, thrash assailants Municipal Waste literally started a riot at their first show: a New Year's Eve keg party. Quickly cutting two split albums — one with Bad Acid Trip and one with Crucial Unit — the band went on a tour of the U.S. and Mexico, spreading their debauchery all over North America. In 2003, they released their first album, the hard-hitting — and clearly Metallica-inspired — ‘Waste 'Em All.' Municipal Waste signed to Earache Records in ‘05 and released ‘Hazardous Mutation,' which featured ripper "The Thrashin of Christ." They toured with Destruction shortly after, and then worked on a follow-up with Hatebreed producer Zeuss. ‘The Art of Partying,' their third album — which opened with a track called "Pre-Game" and proceeded toward "Born to Party "— embraced their fundamental values as hard partiers. They shuttled onto European festival circuits and toured with idols Suicidal Tendencies. ‘The Art of Partying' was listed as a Top 5 album of the year in Sweden's Close Up magazine, and received high marks in numerous other publications.
Seeking further destruction, Municipal Waste signed with revered metal label Nuclear Blast for their fifth album, ‘The Fatal Feast,' which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard New Artists charts. Then ‘Slime and Punishment' (2017), their first to fully soar into the charts, reached No. 3 on U.S. Heatseekers, No. 9 on U.S. Independent, and No. 11 on Top Hard Rock Albums. The album's "Amateur Sketch" was listed among Loudwire's 25 Best Metal Songs of 2017 — not bad, considering the top few slots were taken by Code Orange, Pallbearer, and Power Trip.

Municipal Waste and all the other bands where excellent the venue Echo Lounge was nice but beer was too expensive and it was cash only
Municipal Waste was killer as always and 191 Toole was a great venue! Very happy with the whole experience! Top Tier Thrash experience!
Had some of the most fun at the concert even though the venue was different, never been there before but realized it was perfect for municipal waste, great live show and awesome people at the booth.
Amazing experience. Absolute best death metal/ hardcore/ trash metal event i've ever been to.
Municipal Waste totally demolished Pittsburgh. Probably one if the best shows I’ve been too. Definately check them out whenever they invade your town.
Brought a friend who had never been to a heavy metal show and he loved it! The Shelter did a great job hosting the event and all 4 bands sounded great in their own unique way. Great night!
Lineup was great. Came to see Crowbar (long time fan), but Skeletal Remains & Municipal Waste were also cool. This show felt like I stepped back in time to 1990. Old school vibes abound. Good to see a mixed bill like this, featuring thrash, death metal, and doom/sludge. My first time at this venue and I was very impressed. Great sound, staff was on the ball and easy access as far as parking. Hopefully there will be many more underground shows here in the future.
Trash cans in the pit! Napalm Death rocked even though Barney was sitting! That's all I gotta say!
The venue was amazing, polite employees great security, and clean bathrooms for a metal show!!!
Teragram is the best place to see a show like Municipal Waste, Napalm Death, and SOIA Sound is always great, venue is small enough that anywhere you stand/sit is still close to the bands and unless you’re 3 feet tall you can see the action on stage.
This show was one of the best shows I've been to in a while!!!
Thought all 4 bands(Cauldron, Phobia, Brutal Truth and Municipal Waste) KILLED!!!!! Was stoked about seeing Brutal Truth as I hadn't seen them before and they are grindcore legends. Great show for a great price and I would definitely recommend seeing any of the 4 bands.
