About

Mudvayne are a heavy metal band from Peoria, Illinois. Formed in 1996, the band drew headlines for their cinematic presentation, sporting ghoulish face paint that later evolved into alien masks. In 2000, Mudvayne released their debut album L.D. 50 featuring the lead single “Dig.” The song’s frenetic and circus-like music video won the inaugural fan-voted MTV2 award at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, with Mudvayne infamously accepting their trophies in white suits and bleeding bullet hole makeup. The band’s second album The End of All Things to Come (2002) drew acclaim from MTV and Entertainment Weekly, as the “alt-metal extraterrestrials” became one of the staples of 2000s-era metal, selling over 6 million albums worldwide and touring with Slipknot, Sevendust, Slayer and Metallica. Mudvayne would go on hiatus in 2010, reuniting in 2022 to tour with Rob Zombie, Static-X and Powerman 5000 on the Freaks on Parade tour.

    Amazing

    by Emokid1969 on 8/22/23

Mudvayne put on a spectacular performance. Having grown up listening to them, it was a dream to see them live. Chad’s vocals are amazing and just as good as I remember from being a kid. Would definitely see them again. I also love how vulnerable Chad is sharing his mental health experience with the crowd and making us all feel like we belong.

    by Getnskulld on 8/22/23

Great time at a great venue. I refuse to visit downtown San Francisco because it smells & is dirty but concord is always nice and a blast. Gwar and Coal Chamber were amazing. Not a big mudvayne fan but they seem to give their fans whee they were looking for

Besides the annoying people sitting next to me....Mudvayne put on a good show. I'm not a diehard fan so I didn't realize all the songs I didn't know...had a good time.

    Be Fair

    by Jay on 8/22/23

The show was awesome, but because they let all lawn ticket purchases move into seating areas without any additional charges & with no one overseeing seating areas; it's only fair we (regular purchased seating tickets) get a refund to match lawn pricing.

    Awesome show

    by Zach on 8/21/23

Cherry Bombs were fun, GWAR was hilarious and awesome, Coal Chamber sounded great, Nonpoint put on a great show, and Mudvayne seemed to be energized to play a hometown show in the biggest venue in their hometown.

    WHY?!?

    by KLMONE on 8/20/23

This should have been an AMAZING concert. Then, they moved venues! This was supposed to be at Ak Chin Pavilion, but 2 days before the concert, they changed venues to Arizona Financial Theater. 20k seat to 5k seat venue. The reserved seats we bought turned into General Admission and was now first come first serve. If you bought lawn seats, you had the same seats as everyone. Fortunately, the friend we go to a TON of concerts together with was able to get off early and get in line. We go here so often, we know exactly which seats we like. He went straight there and snagged them for us! The concert started on time with The Butcher Babies. They came on hard, but then their equipment failed, and kept failing! The girls were abel to hold it together and somehow pull off a great set! Next up was Nonpoint. They Killed it! flawless set! Out next was GWAR. Should have been a good set, but their equipment didn't work at all. Teh stage show was kind if cheezy, and out of date. Coal Chamber came out next, and they knocked it out of the park with a great set. Opened up strong and carried the momentum through their set. Mudvayne closed out the show with a strong opening as well. Chad engaged the crowd and got people on their feet right away. Then, after going into the set, the volume got out of hand as we were unable to hear the sound clearly. You could figure out the songs, but that's about it. I get the venue change, lol, but my friend got a text from ticket master during Nonpoint that the venue changed. Sure hope no one was waiting for that text!! Best thing, got a selfie with Shannon Gunz, one of my favorite SeruisXM DJ's!

Great show overall. Bands killed it especially Mudvayne and Coal Chamber. Arizona Financial Theatre is also a very nice venue (beer is pretty expensive tho). Had a great time.

Security at Arizona Federal Theater are cowards

    by Michael on 8/19/23

My family was harassed by event staff at this venue. The thing is we were leaving the show early. Like I said, we were LEAVING. Security decided to get handsy with us and start pushing us to the ground. One of us was a female. All because security wanted to be alpha or because they were upset about something in their personal lives. I don’t know. That’s my experience, thanks live nation.

    Electrifying

    by SuperSerb on 8/19/23

Entrance was simple but powerful. Loved seeing Mudvayne for the first time and possibly my last depending on if they ever come back. Didn’t care too much for the other opening acts except for Gwar cause I used to listen to them as a kid but Chad can still put on a hell of a show. Would highly recommend going to see them if you get a chance.

    Best. Show. Ever!!!!!

    by Rains on 8/19/23

I was a little sceptical when Mudvayne and friends were changing venue at the last minute. But! I got comparable seats to what I bought for the show at Talking Stick. The bands all rocked🤘 For musicians who aren't spring chickens anymore, They were playing bangers like it was nothing! Perfect show🖤

    Psychotherapy Sessions

    by Tohono_Oodham on 8/19/23

I was so excited to see this line up especially Mudvayne, whom I haven't seen live since 2001 with Slipknot. Chad had some very deep words that I felt helped allot of fans out that did not realize who we are and how we express ourselves as individuals defines our relationship to everyone. Music is our outlet to be who we are and loved that message. I can say that heavy metal got me through high school seeing how my brother made a deal with me that if I kept my grades up he would take me to all the shows I wanted to. I got to see some great bands all of which I still listen to such as White Zombie, R.A.T.M., Deftones, Ozzy, Slipknot, Mudvayne, System of A Down, Primus, Korn ect. The list goes on and on believe me. I took my 9 year old son to the concert with me and he also had a blast. His favorite band was GWAR because of their stage presence. He loved the entire show and he to liked what Chad had to say about music. I hope to take my son to more shows like this in the years to come. It's great to see the look on his face when he sees dear old dad banging his head and jumping around in sync with the music I grew up with and love. I myself don't force anything onto my son but he wanted to come with me to the concert just to get out with dad. I can't say we have a future metal head yet but I wouldn't mind if we did... Ha ha ha... Thank You everyone who performed and all my fellow metal heads out there.
