About

Mudvayne is a heavy metal band from Peoria, Illinois. Formed in 1996, the band drew headlines for their cinematic presentation, sporting ghoulish face paint that later evolved into alien masks. In 2000, Mudvayne released their debut album L.D. 50 featuring the lead single “Dig.” The song’s frenetic and circus-like music video won the inaugural fan-voted MTV2 award at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, with Mudvayne infamously accepting their trophies in white suits and bleeding bullet hole makeup. The band’s second album The End of All Things to Come (2002) drew acclaim from MTV and Entertainment Weekly, as the “alt-metal extraterrestrials” became one of the staples of 2000s-era metal, selling over 6 million albums worldwide and touring with Slipknot, Sevendust, Slayer and Metallica. Mudvayne would go on hiatus in 2010, reuniting in 2022 to tour with Rob Zombie, Static-X and Powerman 5000 on the Freaks on Parade tour.

    Insanity!

by Kressler on 7/25/09Cumberland County Civic Center - Portland

Starting with Suicide Silence, They were a relatively unknown band, But were extremely hardcore the screams were done right and the crowd play was excellent. Static-x was the main reason I went, and I was not disappointed, Wayne Static was excelling my expectations. Black Label was very good but I could have done without the 10 min solo, granted it was a good solo but would have been just as effective if it was a bit shorter. Zakk Wylde's interactions with crowd were good but a little over the top kind of showboating. Mudvayne was exemplary as always and the lights and sounds together just made the experience. Hellzapopin was good but I was disappointed with the fact that they couldn't do anything with fire, Maine's restrictions. Overall a wonderful concert and I would definitely see it again.

    1 out of 4 ain't bad.

by rockfan67 on 7/25/09Cumberland County Civic Center - Portland

O.K., Last night I took my son, and a friend to the concert. I'm glad that Black Label showed up, because the other bands were terrible. The only shining moments of the other bands, were when Mudvayne sang Happy, and Do what You do. Other than that the only entertainment before Black Label were watching the people in the mosh pit. Thank God Zakk Wylde and the rest of BLS were there to make it a night worth watching.

    Static X too early

by Nickolas on 7/25/09Cumberland County Civic Center - Portland

The concert started off with Suicide Silence, your typical opening act. They were followed up by Static X. They did an amazing job on stage. They played too early in the order though and were thus, the crowd was not psyched up enough. Black Label Society was definitely a big joy for the crowd, but the songs weren't quite geared for the set list order. If BLS and Static X switched, the concert would have had much more energy. Mudvayne played great. The floor went wild and the songs were great for the concert. Chad was often out of breath, probably because of the huge furry monkey suit he was wearing. Throughout the concert sideshow Hellzapoppin performed various acts. Betty Bloomer was absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Easily the best part of the concert in my opinion. Jason the Penguin boy was awesome and entertaining. Mister Om was mesmerizing and Zamora was entertaining, but a little slow with his act.

by jnfne333 on 7/25/09Cumberland County Civic Center - Portland

Static-X rules!!! Mudvayne was awesome! and BLS rocked the house. The freak show from hell was pretty awesome too. I wouldnt recommend one of the opening bands, Suicide Silence, but the rest of the show was killer. I would definitely go again!

by Melowisha on 7/25/09Cumberland County Civic Center - Portland

That was a Great show!! I sweat my A$$ off, got kicked in the back of the head, lost my sweatshirt and got some good bruises. I do think that Black Label could have sounded ALOT better... Zacks AMAZING but could hardly hear his vocals. That was a GREAT Show!!

put the pedal to the metal and go see this show

by anglefan2002 on 7/25/09Cumberland County Civic Center - Portland

From beginning to end this was the best concert I have ever been to and I include ozzfest in the comparison. All the bands were awesome and put on a set that really got the crowds attwbtion and built excitment. Suicide silence was a band that I had never heard before this event, I am now a fan. Between sets hellzapoppin put on a sideshow that you have to see to believe. See this show! Its the best thing going.

    BLS KICKS ASS

by BUDFAN1 on 7/25/09Cumberland County Civic Center - Portland

Not a big fan of the screamers(Mudvayne and Suicide Silence). But Static-X was tight. BLS was the clincher for me. They definitely should be the headliners on this tour. Zakk Wylde is a multi-talented genius that is an almost impossible act to follow! SMDF!
