About

LAURYN HILL IN CONCERT:

As a member of the Fugees and a decorated solo artist, the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill broke new ground for female artists in hip hop, becoming one of the most dominant musical figures of the '90s and the first hip-hop artist to take home a Grammy for Album of the Year. With new material and a critically-acclaimed tour in 2013, Hill proved she hasn't lost her edge – or her voice – taking the stage with a full backing band and breathing new life into her catalog of hits with updated arrangements, extensive improvisation, and dramatic readings of her socially conscious verses.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Do not sleep on Lauryn! She is back. She was on point! This is what music has been missing!"

"The vibe was continuously raised to higher heights. What is quickly apparent is that this is no traditional act – from the beginning a very unique and nostalgic vibe is set through the familiar set list, but against brand new arrangements that drive the classic material head first into the multi-genre-infused present."

"Epic performance by Lauryn Hill. She killed it in every way possible. So happy I was able to be a part of it."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hill rose to international fame when the Fugees' seminal 1996 album The Score topped charts around the world, earning a Grammy for her spellbinding cover of Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly." The group’s dissolution in 1997 did nothing to hinder her success – 1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, her only solo studio album to date, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, landed a No. 1 single with “Doo Wop (That Thing)”, and took home five Grammys, including Album of the Year. A seasoned performer, Hill continued to impress fans in 2013 with her substance-over-style approach, building excitement for the much-anticipated 2014 release of her sophomore album Letters From Exile.

    Late as usual

by IQ on 4/9/24Dolby Live - Las Vegas

Lauryn Hill herself was great- but she came out literally 2 hours after start time. Maybe start putting a disclaimer to expect a delayed start so that concertgoers are not sitting for 2 hours with a dj

    Time and money

by True Lauryn hill fan on 4/9/24Dolby Live - Las Vegas

The experience was amazing, however when we pay good money to come see a show means you still have a job to do an that means being professional an showing up on time to avoid any bad backlash. We was so excited and ready to see her but due to her starting two hours late kinda sucked the energy out of me. I was ready to leave but because she is a true legend I stayed to see her full show. Hopefully her next tour is better with time.

    Lauryn is great

by Jen on 4/9/24Dolby Live - Las Vegas

The park MGM didn't do great with parking/traffic. Lauryn was 2 hours late to stage which I expected. But she was visibly upset with stage set up and sound. If felt like no sound check/rehearsal was done. I love her songs, and they were hard to enjoy seeing her upset.

    Be on time

by Tired in Vegas on 4/9/24Dolby Live - Las Vegas

Lauren Hill’s performance gets five stars. Great concert. Waiting two hours for her to come onstage and listening to DJ play a mix of house music that I didn’t pay to hear - 0 stars. Lauren, you are a generational talent, but please respect your fan’s time and money. If you are going to fill the first two hours with DJ music, advertise that so that we can come when the real concert starts. I would like those first two hours of my life back so I can catch up on the sleep I missed.

    Epic Night

by Brit on 4/9/24Dolby Live - Las Vegas

DJ Reborn kept it live and was awesome, but 2 hours of just DJ music was long. Lauryn came out promptly at 10:30. YG Marley performed during a small intercession for Lauryn. It would've been better if he would've opened up. Definitely a memorable night. The venue size is perfect at Dolby Live. I purchased tickets for concert in Dallas-Fort Worth that was canceled a hour prior but this venue was way better Dickies Arena is huge. No seat is a bad seat at Dolby Live. Epic Night!

    Dissapointed

by dislike on 4/9/24Dolby Live - Las Vegas

2 hours of of DJ music before the artist came out at 10:30am is deceiving and too long to wait the pounding made the wait so irritable we left after Lauren's first set.

    AMAZING!

by Lainey on 4/9/24Dolby Live - Las Vegas

I sat on the floor for this show and it was amazing. Her band is always great and she switched up the order of the songs she usually does them in. Voice was strong and everyone in the audience kept yelling “we love you” it was really sweet. Ticket time was 8:30 and DJ until we came on before 10:30. (Completely normal) My 8th time seeing her and better each time. Can’t wait for her next show!

    Needs to Retire

    by B. Blake on 4/8/24

Had tickets for a show at the Footprint Center here in Arizona in TWO DAYS and the show is cancelled. I should’ve known better from hearing all of the rumors and reading the reviews. At this point, Lauryn, stop booking tour dates and/or shows if you’re not going to honor those dates. This is ridiculous at this point! Stop booking shows and just retire.

    Laurel Hill

by Ale on 4/8/24Toyota Arena - Ontario

The concert and Lauren were great. However, it was disappointing that the sound quality was poor. Mrs. Lauren expressed her concern and it was not resolved.

    Hill ruined her own songs

by P Diddler on 4/8/24Toyota Arena - Ontario

Always been a big Hill fan, we were excited to see her perform and showed up on time but she didnt. she kept her reputation for showing up late, and started an hour and a half late. My girlfriend wanted to throw popcorn at her but thankfully she was hungry and ate it instead. the Crowd was excited and amp'ed up but once Hill began to sing she sucked the energy out of the crowd. it was obvious she was high, she was hard to understand even though i knew the words to her songs, and she kept turning around to scold her back up band even though they sounded great. My girlfriend wanted to throw her pretzel at her, but thankfully she was hungry. Then her son came on and performed and saved the show for about 15 minutes but once he left the energy went out of the building again. Im not happy about spending money on the show, but the money spent on popcorn and pretzels was worth it.

    Lauryn Hill Ontario concerts

by Sandra on 4/8/24Toyota Arena - Ontario

The good: performance was on point! The bad: She was 2 hours late, and for an indoor venue, the weed smoking by patrons was less than appealing
