Montreal Canadiens History
With an NHL-record 24 Stanley Cup Championships, eight conference championships, 24 division titles, and a Hall of Fame contingent of more than 50 players and more than a dozen coaches and executives, the Canadiens have an unrivaled pedigree.
The team, founded in 1909 as part of the National Hockey Association (forebear to the NHL), won its first Stanley Cup Championship in 1916. Behind legendary center Howie Morenz, Montreal added championships in 1924, 1930 and 1931. The latter two titles came at the Montreal Forum, the arena they would call home for 70 years. In 1942 the league was reduced to six teams; the Candiens were selected as one of the remaining teams to form the “Original Six” and the foundation of the league we know today.
With eventual Hall of Fame right wing Maurice ("Rocket") Richard anchoring the "Punch Line" with Elmer Lach and Toe Blake, the Canadiens won a Stanley Cup Championship in 1944 and '46. Blake would return as head coach in the next decade, piloting them to five consecutive Stanley Cup Championships between 1956 and 1960. The Canadiens won four more Stanley Cup Championships in the 1960s (three under Blake).
Sparked by future Hall of Famers such as Guy Lafleur, Ken Dryden and Larry Robinson, the Habs earned six Stanley Cup Championships in the 1970s — five with Scotty Bowman at the helm. Bowman would go on to become the winningest coach in NHL history.
The Canadiens won six division championships and three conference titles and made the Playoffs every year in the 1980s, adding one Stanley Cup Championship to their resumé when they defeated the Calgary Flames to close out the 1985-1986 season behind the goaltending of rookie Patrick Roy. They returned to the Finals in 1993, again behind Roy, to beat the Los Angeles Kings.

Since 1996, the Montreal Canadiens have played their home games at the Bell Centre, originally known as the Molson Centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Bell Centre has a capacity of 21,105 for hockey games, making it the largest ice hockey arena in the world.
The Montreal Canadiens’ 2023–24 regular season kicks off in October at Scotiabank Arena, when the Canadiens face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Canadiens have made 35 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, and have won the Stanley Cup 24 times (in 1916, 1924, 1930, 1931, 1944, 1946, 1953, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1971, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1986 and 1993) — the most out of any NHL team.

Great venue..love touring the arena and great game ! Sitting right above visitors net..great view of the Montreal team scoring and winning the game! A lot to see and do in Montreal and the train brings you right into the downtown by arena and lots of restaurants, shopping and hotels.

It was my first hockey game and I just loved the experience, staff was very helpful and nice and the game was amazing. I became a fan of montreal canadians and I hope to go to other games in the future.

Enjoyed both games and the atmosphere that the fans at the Bell Center create. The tour of the Bell Center was worth the money and time as well and the guide was top notch.
I had an extra ticket to this event and for reasons unknown I was unable to post it for resale and had to eat it. Not cool.

I was visiting Montreal for the weekend and decided last minute to see if I can get an affordable ticket. they had single seats PROMO online for purchase. The energy from the fans was incredible. and the Canadiens won with 2OT. I definitely attend another game if I am in town!

Did not regret spending "extra"for tickets to sit in the Desjardins Club level for the game. All you can eat, and nonalcoholic beverages are included in the price. Site view was great as well as the game. Well worth the price!!
I brought my 4 kids and wife. Cost me $1000. Too expensive for what it was. We had a great time though.

I gave my husband tix to game for xmas gift. I had never been to see the Canadians play. It was something he did with a buddy over 40 years ago. The game was exciting. The venue was super clean. To our surprise it was fan appreciation night, so there were lots of giveaways. The music (dj) between periods and during the game was amazing. It was easy to get into the game. The staff was super friendly and spoke both French and English. We can't wait to return.
The premiere hockey venue bar none. The atmosphere the fan’s excitement can’t be matched. The 8 2 win was only icing on the cake
