Monica is a multi-platinum-selling R&B singer from College Park, Georgia. Born Monica Denise Brown, the eponymous star burst onto the scene in the mid-’90s thanks to the release of her debut studio album, Miss Thang (1995). After amassing a trio of charttoppers on the R&B charts with “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days),” “Like This and Like That” and “Before You Walk Out of My Life,” Monica earned a record-breaking No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “The Boy Is Mine,” her 1998 duet with Brandy. The song spent 13 consecutive weeks at the top of the chart, served as the title track off Monica’s sophomore album and ultimately became one of the best-selling female duets of all time. Other studio sets in the singer’s discography include All Eyez on Me (2002), After the Storm (2003), The Makings of Me (2006), Still Standing (2010), New Life (2012) and Code Red (2015). In 2025, Monica reunited with Brandy for the duo’s first-ever co-headlining tour across the U.S., The Boy Is Mine Tour.

I thought the show was really good... I just think next time they can do a better job promoting the event that was my only problem!!!
Monica is one of my favorite performers and she has a wonderful voice (live and on her cd's). Monica performance in Atlantic City (House of Blues) was for 50 minutes. Normally when I attend shows at the House of Blues the performances last for about 90 minutes with a full live band. If Monica returns back to the House of Blues I would support her, but I hope that her performance would include more time along with a live band.
I really enjoyed Monica show. I just wish she sung longer them 47 minutes. other then that it was the best her voice is beautiful with no music. you go monica i am a fan and will for ever be.
I have waited about 15 years to hear Monica sing live and it was well worth the wait. Although she only performed for about an hour my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. Her voice is as beautiful live as it is on the cd. Didn't like that we got there at 7:45 and the concert didn't start til 10. If we would have known the time the show was gonna start we would have come a little later, But again we still enjoyed ourselves. Hope she comes back to the Philly area so I can see her again.
The show didnt start until 9pm...Was supposed to start at 8pm... The opening act was okay..After he left the stage it took a while for monica to come on, they when she did she sang for like 45 minutes and left the stage...Very disappointed very disappointed very disappointed......
My husband and I attended the Monica concert on Saturday, May 1, at the House of Blues (a bday gift for my birthday, Sunday, May 2). Doors opened at 8pm - and we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more in the freezing air conditioning for Monica to bless us with her presence. Monica did not appear on stage until about 10:15pm!!!! To top the night off - Monica was only on stage for about 30 minutes!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!! We drove for an hour and a half to hear Monica sing for 30 minutes, next time I will just listen to my cd, that way I can make sure I'm not disappointed.
We were surpised by an unknown opening act name Bar who actually happened to be good. Monica sounded great and did not disappoint. She sang many of my favorites old and new.Although the showtime was listed as 8:00pm, Monica did not touch the stage until 10:00pm. This was the only negative about the event, the amount of time that passed between the show time on the ticket and the actual start time of the show was too long. Had we known, I would have shown up later. But overall, great job Monica.
First of all Monica was fabalous once she came out. BUT the venue was AWFUL!!!! First they put a show time of 8pm on the tickets, when Monica was not scheduled to hit the stage until 10pm. So for two hour you had to stand waiting with no form of entertainment. Then they brought out an opening act at 9pm who was on stage for 20mins. and then you had to wait another 45mins. for Monica to come out. If I had been driving my own car I would have left. While this is NO reflection on Moinca, I was very disappointed in the HOB venue. I will NEVER go to another show here. In Monica defense, once she touch the stage she did an awesomw job, but I suggest she find another venue to perform in. PS. The floor was so sticky and nasty. SOAP and HOT WATER works wonders there should try it!!!!!
My husband & I were very dissapointed! I love Monica but everything was wrong.....No presentation (no backdrop or any set up what so ever) I have never been to a show that the person didn't have a set up of some kind, she just had a DJ table on the stage that's it. The worst part was that the show start time was 8pm & it didn't begin until 10:15 an we had other plans so not long after it started we left. Another thing that we didn't like who wants the audience to sing more of the song than the performer, it was just a huge dissapointment that's all I can say. I don't no if every show is like that at the house of blues but if so I will never go there again!
Waiting in the venue 2 hours and 15 minutes before she hit the stage. and then she only performed for 27 minutes which included two Whitney Houston songs.....Ive seen her do much better, not sure if I was expecting too much from her considering she's been in the music biz 5 albums and 16 years. She should know better, Ill will buy her album but no more shows
I was sooo excited to see her because I loooovvvee her CD but I was so dissapointed!!Doors opened at 8 she didnt come on until after ten and was off before eleven!!! She sung probably about seven songs at most and I was soooo disappointed. She can sing her behind off but i definitely dont feel like I got a full show!
I think that the show was great. the songs she did took me back in the day.
She was extremely great but could have performed a little longer. :)
I enjoyed the show. Can't no one say that girl can't sing, because she proved it for all the haters. The only problem I have was Monica only performed for 47 minutes and not longer, and the doors opened at 8pm but Monica didn't come on till 10. But outside of the previous comments I did enjoy myself.
Several different factors played a part in the disappointment of the concert. 1. Monica came on 2 hours late. 2. The Sound systems was horrible. When she talked she sounded like Charlie's Browns teacher 3. She performed for 45 minutes. What happened to a complete concert? I don't think the house of blues advertised a Mini-Concert.
Beautiful show loved every minute of it & Loved the beauty she displays 1 hot Chic House of Blue"s is were its at need to see more shows like this A-yo.....!
This was my second time seeing Monica and she did the same thing....gave a less than full performance. I figured with her being the headliner I would get at least an hour and a half show instead I got 40 minutes. She has too much good music to have shorted us like she did. I will continue to buy her music, because I love her and her voice, but I cannot say that I will be seeing her again. Sorry Monica.
Her Performance was great but she was two hours late and no one came out and told us anything and she came out sang for forty five minutes and left. Will never go to th house of blues again.
monica was great she sounded good live and looked nice and the hits were one after another, the performance was short but its was great for the venue, i am looking forward to the monica and trey songz tour the girl is very talented!
The show at the HOuse of Blues was really a good show but the wait time for Monica to come on stage was ridiculous and there were no seats!
