About

The hallmark hip hop duo, Mobb Deep, creators of the critically-acclaimed street anthem, “Shook Ones, Part II,” kicked off their 20th anniversary tour in March of 2013. Singles featuring Nas and the Alchemist were released in 2012 to whet fans' appetites after a six-year lull. They'll wrap things up with a self-titled album planned for 2014. Loyal listeners can’t wait to get a taste, but will have little choice unless they can score concert tickets.

Mobb Deep hit the scene in 1995 with the release of Juvenile Hell. Hailing from Queens, New York, Havoc and Prodigy would make major waves with their second album The Infamous. Noted as originators of reality rap and self-labeled as “heavy metal for black people,” the two quickly gained notoriety for their honest portrayal of street life. Inspiring and influential, their breakout song “Shook Ones, Part II” became an anthem for the hip-hop community of the mid-'90s. It was quickly followed by "Survival of the Fittest" and fueled the success of their third album Murda Muzik in 1999, sending it platinum. Although legal troubles and solo projects began to affect Mobb Deep’s early success, nothing could replace their beats' gritty and haunting flavor. The partners, who brought hip-hop “dun” speak and Mobb Phonics, would last through Prodigy’s successful solo career, starting with H.N.I.C. in 2000 and the rapper’s three-year prison stint. An explosive exchange over social media in 2012 left the group’s future up in the air, but new collaborations and tour plans for 2013 soon brought an end to rumors.

They came on 1.5 hours late, but I guess that's to be expected. Pretty cool to see them after all these years.

Mobb Deep was great as usual, going through all the hits from Shook Ones to G.O.D. part III to Quiet Storm to Murder Muzik. Check them out when they come to your area!

If you love hardcore hip hop, Mobb Deep is the best group on the menu. Havoc and Prodigy have hits for days. Great Show!

Mobb Deep came in time, rocked, and went through so many tracks that I even forgot their catalog was so deep. BB Kings on the flip should give refunds for posting the Show time starting at 9, yet put Smif N Wessun on early, only to keep ticket holders outside to miss half the show just because they wanted to sell out the venue. Disgusting....

  • Great Show Overall!!!

Overall great show and night. Show started on time and kept going for close to 4 hours... Smif'N'Wessun and Mobb Deep put on a great show and brought out some guest (e.g. Buckshot, Sean P, 112, Tony Touch, etc...). Funk Flex was good too. He just needs to RELAX. We know you are one of the greats, you don't have to tell us and the world this every few minutes. Whoever your issues are with, it's not the crowd!!! the acts had a great time and the crowd was in to it the whole time!!!

  • Worth it...

While the performances were great, Mobb Deep did not even arrive at the concert venue until after midnight!!!!!! The concert was supposed to start at 8 p.m. Because Mobb Deep was HOURS late we ended up having to stay at the venue for 5+ hours. Not a really smart thing to do to your fans!!
