About

The hallmark hip hop duo, Mobb Deep, creators of the critically-acclaimed street anthem, “Shook Ones, Part II,” kicked off their 20th anniversary tour in March of 2013. Singles featuring Nas and the Alchemist were released in 2012 to whet fans' appetites after a six-year lull. They'll wrap things up with a self-titled album planned for 2014. Loyal listeners can’t wait to get a taste, but will have little choice unless they can score concert tickets.

Mobb Deep hit the scene in 1995 with the release of Juvenile Hell. Hailing from Queens, New York, Havoc and Prodigy would make major waves with their second album The Infamous. Noted as originators of reality rap and self-labeled as “heavy metal for black people,” the two quickly gained notoriety for their honest portrayal of street life. Inspiring and influential, their breakout song “Shook Ones, Part II” became an anthem for the hip-hop community of the mid-'90s. It was quickly followed by "Survival of the Fittest" and fueled the success of their third album Murda Muzik in 1999, sending it platinum. Although legal troubles and solo projects began to affect Mobb Deep’s early success, nothing could replace their beats' gritty and haunting flavor. The partners, who brought hip-hop “dun” speak and Mobb Phonics, would last through Prodigy’s successful solo career, starting with H.N.I.C. in 2000 and the rapper’s three-year prison stint. An explosive exchange over social media in 2012 left the group’s future up in the air, but new collaborations and tour plans for 2013 soon brought an end to rumors.

Looked and sounded the same as they did in 1997. Amazing show. The artist rendering during the concert added another dimension.

    Mobb Deep are on point!

by Mobbfan on 6/8/13Howard Theatre - Washington

This is the second time I've seen Mobb Deep and they never cease to amaze! They show control and skill on the mic which they've gained from years of experience. They're opening acts don't ever seem to be very strong. It looks like they give local MCs the opportunity to open for them. That's awesome that they give them that exposure even if they aren't particularly great. But when Mobb Deep hits the stage it's at a whole new level.

    awesome concert

    by tashareed113 on 6/8/13Howard Theatre - Washington

The concert was amazing! The crowd was hype and the venue was spectacular. I loved the atmosphere when the MOBB came out. The meet and greet was ok although it was rushed since it happened after the show instead of before like was supposed too. Overall we had a great time and it was nice to meet the stars. I would definately go again.

    Mobb Deep is DOPE!

by Simona7 on 3/11/12Key Club - West Hollywood

I got to take pics with one of the members of the group after the show. He was so sweet and generous with himself even though he was clearly exhausted. I'm a professor at a local college and there I was posing with Havoc at the end of the show. I'm forever a fan and will use them in a lecture for fun.

VIP meet and Greet LA house of blues

by Hnicizzy on 6/4/11unorganized didnt get on til 11 doors opened at 8. turned out koo - Hollywood

This was my first concert I went to and I would say it was one of the funnest things ive done in my 21 years. I live in the bay area but had to travel to LA to see the concert because the age for the show in SF was 21 and this was a week before I turned 21 therefore I had no choice but to go to this one plus I love LA and this meant a short vacation for me. Anyway the only thing is its a kinda unorganized such as staff contradicting eachother didnt matter to me tho got to meet both of them and get a picture. Only 4 people in VIP room I thought would be crowded talked to them for about 5min then they made the whole place go nuts when they got on stage. fun experience

the show was amazing. my friends came late so this man (teddy/troy (sp)??? was hella dope and pulled me to hang with his crew....aka my entourage.lol. he was a gentleman and watched over me all night long and I will never forget that experience. the show was amazing. the set was amazing. the atmosphere was amazing. only downfall was personal in the fact that I got hella sick by the end of the night and had to cut ASAP!

    Mobb Deep is classic

by SashawithaB on 5/18/11Best Buy Theater - New York

The show was great. Ghostface and Raekwon performed right before and set the right mood for the old school groove. Prodigy had great energy and they performed ALLLL their best- two straight hours of pure HITS. Great performance, and Alchemist AND Lil Kim made a guest appearance for "Hold Me Down".

This concert sucked. Can't believe management let them get on stage with a live band. Like MOP with a jazz band

    ALMOST a waste of money!!

by Hiphop247 on 5/14/11Best Buy Theater - New York

I paid over $100 to go to the concert and attend the meet and greet plus receive a "book". The event details listed that the doors opened at 7 however when I got there I was told the meet and greet was already over. They should have listed what time to arrive. I paid an extra $60 for nothing. But besides that the show was great.

    Infamous

by Hizoo on 5/14/11Best Buy Theater - New York

I have been to Best buy theater for a hip hop show before but this time I really enjoyed it because it was a star studded cast for a great price. Raekwon fresh off his new album and Prodigy's first show since he got out. This was epic. Venue had enough space to move around with the option to stand up close to the stage or take seats in the back. State of the art sound and lighting.
