MMR*B*Q in Concert

Join Philadelphia's rock authority for an all-day concert featuring big names and hot up-and-comers at MMR*B*Q. Riff-heavy experimentalists Shinedown and goth-rockers Evanescence head this year's lineup of bands at the BB&T Pavilion.

Shinedown's crushing "Devil," from their 2018 album Attention Attention, was Billboard's No. 2 Mainstream Rock song of 2018, while tracks like the brooding "Second Chance" and the electro-tinged "Cut the Cord" have defined 21st-century guitar music. Evanescence, led by defiant belter Amy Lee, re-emerged in 2018 with Synthesis Live, which showcased orchestral reimaginings of hits like "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal."

The rest of the MMR*B*Q lineup is chock full of exciting bands. That includes British rockers The Struts, who have updated glam-rock's outrageous styles and huge hooks for the streaming-music era. Their 2018 sophomore album Young & Dangerous swaggered its way into critics' hearts.

Fozzy, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2019, spotlights the over-the-top charisma and heavyweight pipes of wrestling superstar Chris Jericho. Metal supergroup Bad Wolves, which features Snot vocalist Tommy Vext, hit No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart with their storming cover of The Cranberries' "Zombie" in 2018. And Canadian quintet The Glorious Sons will bring their Juno-winning 2017 album Young Beauties and Fools to the BB&T Pavilion stage.

Rock legend Joan Jett will perform hits like "I Love Rock & Roll" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You" with her long-running band The Blackhearts. And the day kicks off with Siravo, the Philly quartet who have been tagged as this year's Jaxon Local Shots opener. The four-piece released their latest album, The Restless & the Mad, in September 2018, and its chugging riffs and hard-hitting cover of Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" helped make them Jaxon's Local Shots Artist of the Month that month.

Tickets for MMR*B*Q are general admission for the first portion of the show, while seats for the four headlining bands will be assigned. Please note this when selecting your ticket.

Left a lot to be desired

by Sean on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

Whether by unfortunate circumstance or someone’s decisions this was sadly my least favorite mmrbq I’ve ever been to our of the 8 or so I’ve been to since 2007. Side stage was an afterthought and kind of like a “yeh whatever let them do what was BASICALLY karaoke over there” Shine down was great, but sadly Billy Idol was basically reprising his role in Wedding Singer for me which is to say “hey that’s great that he’s here, I guess? But.. why?” Either way, maybe next year will be better for me, good luck everyone.

I got in for Billy idol and Shinedown..Billy idol sounded great. Shinedown was complete opposite! Way too much talking and the sound just didn't sound great from the lawn.

    WMMR BBQ 2023

by Chilipepper on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

The whole day was truly wonderful! Took my daughter and we had a fantastic time! Every band brought the best energy and showmanship! Was so excited to see Billy Idol and Shinedown and can say we were not disappointed!!!! Only complaint is the sound system. It was a bit hard to clearly hear everything.

    New Friends

by Minnie on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

We made new friends that came to visit all the way from Sweden. The line up was spectacular. Like the whole time I was watching Billy Idol...I could not believe where I was and how I grew up with Eyes Without Face! A wonderful experience.

    MMRBQ was epic!

by Joe C on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

Have to give it to WMMR 93.3. They threw a GOAT level party. Shouting out the DJs who were so nice to the people. Special kudos to Jacky Bam Bam and Pierre Robert who spent hours engaging with the listeners! Billy Idol stole the show! Shinedown was fabulous as well. Finger Eleven brought the goods as did Dirty Honey. Also, Larkin Poe was a great find for us!

Great show but 4 too many guitar solo's

by Justin on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

Greta Van Fleet grew popularity due to Josh's amazing voice and they're old school sound, but in live format, it seemed more like Jake wanted to be the start of the show with guitar solo after guitar solo after guitar solo, and what he was trying to do was clearly out of range of his ability yet. It just sounded like a mush of noises at most times. Even the crowd started to sit back down everytime Josh walked off stage and allowed Jake to do yet another 7 minute solo. You're not the reason we're here Jake!

A Little New, A Little Old, Perfect Grooves For Any Soul

by Jaydee on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

This year at MMRBQ saw a diverse lineup that had a little in it for every rocker young or old. Whether you are a diehard Shinedown Fan that was blown away from a strong setlist and amazing storytelling or into the blues vibes from Larkin Poe, MMRBQ had you covered. Dirty Honey put on another amazing fun performance again and Finger Eleven had fun singing early on. Ayron Jones came out strong and lit up the stage with pure fun and powerful chords. Just when you think you seen and heard it all, we all felt like we were time warped in the 80's with Billy Idol taking us on a ride back to a time where music was sexy, fun and wild all at the same time and the thousands in attendance danced and sang the night away. Another great year and looking forward to more memories next year!!!

    Good Line UP!

by Pattidookes on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

Really went to see the Dirty Honey band and they were phenomenal! I got to sit closer because they were still in the general admission portion of the show, as they were one of the first few bands. At 5 pm your assigned ticket went into effect. Loved Billy Idol! Has so many hits and I think he still can perform quite well. Shinedown was last and I was up close and to the right and my ear drums were getting blown out. It truly made it less enjoyable for me. I’m not an overall fan of them but I think they put on a good show. VIP paid parking was worth it!

I've been going to this event for years and it's always a great time. From tailgating to end you really get a bang for your buck. Getting together with friends, running into people you know at random and of course great music! Looking forward to next year.
