MKTO IN CONCERT:

Actors-turned-musicians MKTO are taking over airwaves around the world with their smash hit “Classic”. They’re also taking over stages with their undeniable skills: Tony Oller captivates the audience with his powerful crooning while Malcolm Kelley spits fast flows, and they couldn't sound better together. With upbeat pop confections from their 2014 debut self-titled album and lively stage presence, MKTO delivers one exciting show after the next for lucky ticket buyers.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hailing from Los Angeles, MKTO members Tony Oller and Malcolm Kelley met in 2010 when they played best friends on the television show Gigantic and instantly hit it off off screen. The two shared a mutual love for music and began collaborating and performing together under their initials MKTO. After spending a few years honing their craft, the pair released their 2013 breakout single “Thank You” which earned over 500,000 YouTube views within 48 hours and placed them on the to pop radar overnight. They followed up with the radio-friendly hit “Classic” – a gold-certified track that peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. MKTO’s 2014 self-titled debut generated significant buzz after topping the charts in Australia and securing a Top 40 spot in the US – a huge feat for the music industry newcomers. Since then they’ve opened for major acts like Emblem3 and Demi Lovato, and they continue to gain legions of new fans at their thrilling live shows.

    MKTO was AMAZING!!

    by Flamingo10 on 8/6/14Masquerade - Atlanta

My friend and I decided to go to the concert since we were big fans of MKTO and tickets were cheap. The show far exceeded our expectations. MKTO is amazing live. The venue (The Masquerade in Atlanta) was small, so it was a more intimate show than most concerts which made us love it even more. The atmosphere and the setlist were perfect-they sang all the songs off their album. They made an effort to interact with the crowd as well. The opening acts especially Action Item were great, too. One of my favorite concerts so far. I will definitely be going to their next concert in my hometown.

We were disappointed in how disinterested they were with the crowds you would expect them to engage with the audience, especially at a general admission concert. Tonys voice was great, but to just show up and be so disinterested in everyone there was a let down.

    So much fun!

by oreocookiemonster on 8/1/14Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

MKTO had so much energy on stage that they electrified the entire place and it was so much fun! It took a little bit to get there though because in the beginning I'm not sure why Tony wasn't singing the high notes or needed to have lyrics with him on stage. But overall it was an amazing concert!! Some of the opening acts were a little weird, and I think 3 was a little too many opening acts to have, but it was worth it to see Action Item. They were my favorite opening act and I even bought their signed EP for only $5 and got to meet them for free! They were super nice and I love how they come out to meet all of their fans.

The MKTO concert was great !!! These guys have tremendous showmanship , talent and charisma !!!! Their music is fun, catchy and, actually, has an "old school" groove to it !! Malcom , in particular, has an energetic stage presence !!! The crowd loved them !!!

The boys were so amazing and pretty interactive with the crowd. The worst part was that girls crowded the isles and didn't stay in their seats so it was crowded where my seats actually were. Other than that, Malcolm and Tony were amazing. I was having such a great time that I didn't even wanna take any pictures.

    A Great Start to July

by DaniWin on 7/4/14Uptown Theater - Kansas City

Personally, I got the chance to meet MKTO before the show and they were incredible. They were very kind, which made their performance that much better. The opening acts were also a blast. Tiffany Houghton made it her business to follow people on Twitter who attended the show and interact with fans while on stage. Action Item also wanted to personally interact with fans. All four members interacted with fans from the stage and even sold autographed CDs at only five dollars a pop. Good opening acts set up for a great show. My only complaint would have to be that everyone had an equal opportunity to get to the front of the theater to get closest to the stage, regardless of their assigned seat (the seats were a bit back from the railing, and everyone paid the same price regardless of seat). However, there were rather petty girls who forced security to force people away from the front, including small children and people who were just downright too short to even see the show if pushed back. It should be equal opportunity.

by heycindymaiko on 5/9/14City National Civic - San Jose

I saw MKTO open for Emblem 3 in March and I wasn't too familiar with the band just yet, but after their performance my friend and I looked them up and now we're obsessed! Tony and Malcom are amazing live and I'm sooooo excited for their tour in the summer! Can't get enough of them!! :)
