Miyavi-- even better in real life!!
by Rhathymia on 6/11/10House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5I've been a long time fan of Miyavi, and was ecstatic to see that he was playing in San Diego at the House of Blues. After waiting in line for a couple of hours, as I arrived early, we all were let in. The standing area is about 40x40 ft, and we packed ourselves into it. The greatest part was that we all were close to Miyavi; I myself was about 5 ft away by the end of the concert.
Miyavi was amazing in concert. He's got great energy and you can tell that he really loves being up there and preforming for you. He thanked us again and again for being there, and said some stuff about his personal life--he's especially fond of his daughter, who was born last year. "She's a monster," he said, "Cause she wakes me up every morning, but I love her so much. And she loves to hear about all of you!" He persisted that he was really grateful we turned out to see him, and that he hopes to tour again next year.
The concert seemed a little short, about an hour and a half, but it was well worth it. He took the mood from upbeat and bouncy to hard rock, to some really soft, sweet music, before he took a brief intermission, changed clothes, and came back on to finish strong. I would so go to one of his concerts again! He even introduced some new songs, my favorite of which was called "Gravity."
This is definitely a concert you don't want to miss!
