Go if you're a Cubs fan who wants to relive 2016

by shoegal on 6/17/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

If you're a die hard Cubs fan who wants to relive all the "feels" of the 2016 season, then you should probably buy a ticket. The acting and singing is more on par with neighborhood theater and the pricing closer to off Broadway. The story line was pretty predictable and the songs not really memorable but all the emotions from the 2016 Cubs baseball season were there and made for an enjoyable time

    Excellent musical, better than imagined!

by cga on 6/17/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Fantastic musical that lets you relive the 2016 World Series Championship experience all over again. Heartwarming story about a Chicago family, that can touch on your own life, reminding you to continue to BELIEVE! We left with tears in our eyes and warmth in our hearts. Extra highlight when Jim Belushi sang during the 7th inning. Recommend to all Cubs fans!! Miracles do happen.

Great Fun at the Ballpark... no Theater

by Redhawk Bill on 6/15/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

What’s not to like about a theater full of Cub fans enjoying the story of a struggling family trying to make ends meet at their Cubs bar during the 2016 World Championship season? Music was good. Cast seemed to be having a great time performing the show.

    Loved It

by Aggie on 6/15/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

We were surprised by the great quality of singing and performances. The actors/actresses were very believable. We loved the audience participation and of course we had the added benefit from celebrating our beloved Cubs. I think anyone could relate to being avid fans of a team and passing that love onto your family members.

Very loud. Not a pleasant experience.

    by b. b. on 6/3/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

I liked the play. I am a diehard Cubs fan so I could relate, However the sound system need an update . It was so loud!!! We had seats D1 and D2 . We had to move. We were right next to the speaker and it was unbearable. We moved to the back in the middle of the row but it was still too loud. I had to stuff cotton in my ears but it was still too loud.

    I loved it

by Debsue on 6/2/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

If you're a Cubs fan, head over to the Royal George. Do not pass go! I went with two grammar school friends and we all loved it. The show was impeccably cast. The voices were gorgeous. And, okay, so you could figure out exactly where the story was going from the beginning but it didn't lessen the fun. The projections of the players, the games, and of course Harry Carey (and even Jack Brickhouse) on the over-stage screen allowed you to relive every important moment beginning with 1908. It was done so well that my heart was pounding through the rain delay in 2016! I already told all my Cub-fan friends not to miss this fun experience. I even shed my share of tears... We all did.

    Inspiring

by Themaze on 5/21/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

The Tie in of a fairytale season and true life was very well done , it was enjoyable beyond expectations! The story goes beyond being a Cubs fan , a baseball fan or a Chicagoan . It can be applied to life in so many ways . The actors fit the roles and personalities so well it was delightful to watch. Ironically I am more a Sox fan than a Cubs fan and still enjoyed myself tremendously ! Good luck to a long future

    2016, a year to remember

by PatD on 5/21/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

What a perfect play for all the Cub fans I’ve met in over 60 years of rooting for the “lovable losers”!! The comparison of a family and its sports bar suffering financial difficulties and the Cubs with 108 years of futility was well illustrated. But the best thing about the musical was the authenticity of the actors, staging and audio visuals. We felt we were in a Chicago bar, with real people, surrounded by memories of 2016 and it felt GREAT! Congratulations to all those who made this experience feel so real. No Cubs fan should miss it!

    Seemed Familiar

by GRB on 5/21/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Overall it was a good play, but I’ve seen this story play out before. Miracle retells “It’s a Wonderful Life” without the “never was born” sequence.

    Entertaining and fun

    by E. D. on 5/20/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

I brought my husband and parents, we have generations full of Cubs fans! This was an fantastic and fun show about a family we could relate to, especially with the unknown reason why we do throughout the rough years. My father, a tough person to impressed, talked about the show the next day. That says a lot!
