Minnesota Wild History
The state of Minnesota was without an NHL franchise for seven years after the 1993 departure of the North Stars. That void was filled when the city of Saint Paul landed the Wild as an expansion team in 2000. Hall of Famer Jacques Lemaire took over as the franchise's first head coach.
The Wild advanced to the Western Conference Final in 2003 behind the play of right wing Marián Gáborík, and has gone on to post a winning record in almost every season since. Starting with the 2012-2013 season, Minnesota reached the postseason six consecutive times.
Center Mikko Koivu spent his entire NHL career with the Wild and is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, points and assists. In 2022, the Wild retired Koivu's jersey, the first player in franchise history to have a jersey retired.

Maybe its just because it's new to me, but I love seeing the WILD in action no matter if they win or lose. We had a great first period and the last 2 were not so go, but still fun to watch.
In the second period, after the Ref's called a "no Goal," game was over. The crowd was booing them, and they deserved it! Nice comeback tonight in Calgary, let's hope we don't need to Boo our team anymore!
It is always a great time at the Excel Energy Center when the Wild are in tow. It was a tough game, but it's a long season. We hope to be back soon!
Went to the Wild game Friday and they lost in O.T. but it was still a great time. The season ticket holders we sat by were great too!
the game was really exciting. we lost in a shoot out but that wsa the first shoot out I had ever seen live. the seats kind of sucked since you couldnt see what was going on at the other end of the ice. Also, my seat broke halfway through the game and when we told an employee about it they took our seat number down and they never came back to check on us or move us or anything! I was very uncomfortable and they did nothing about it.
Well, OK, maybe there was a little disappointment in the fact the Wild ended up losing, but for my very first professional hockey game, I was thoroughly enthralled! After battling a Minnesota snowstorm for 2 hours on the road to get there, I was tired and a bit frustrated to say the least. WOW! is all I can say! It was a very fast paced game and the things these guys do on the ice is amazing! One player was skating backward, fell down and slid on his tummy (still going backwards) and jumped up and kept skating backward without missing a beat! The Wild scored first by Bouchard who was playing in his second game back after a year long absence due to a concussion. The crowd went nuts! Lots of great music and interactive audience participation fun. The game went into overtime, then a shootout and sudden death overtime. The Wild didn't pull out a win, but I had a great time and will definitely be going to another Wild game. The sound of two guys smashing into the sidewalls is one I will never forget. They give it all the've got on the ice. Exciting!!!!!!
The seating was perfect, section 110, row 21. Could see almost everything - it was way way better than watching it on TV at home! The atmosphere is also awesome!
The Xcel Energy center venue is fabulous! A great place to watch a game. The only probelm with the event was the game itself...it was boring and we ended up losing the game. If you're an avid hockey fan and want to watch a game in a great arena I would recommend it. But until the Wild improve on their game playing, the average fan may not have as much fun.
Great seats, awesome atmosphere, nice to include drink and brat. Although, listed in the contents of the package was a commemorative cup and poster, but were not supplied. I had to purchase the cup and never got a poster. A little disappointed, but still had a great time.
The wild is awesome! Wish I could go to every game. It's always a great time whether we have a win or a loss.
The MN Wild no longer offer any value for youe erntainment value. Ticket prices are just about of reach. Concessions are below average ands overpriced. The Wild team lacks any real hockey talent, and are flat out boring to watch. I uswed to go to several games a year, but ythat will be ending.
Even though the Wild lost - the game was a good exciting action packed game!!!! The team played well, and had many scoring opportunities that they just could tweak into the goal. But all and in all it was a great evening at the rink!
The thing that will keep us coming back is the Win!. We hate watching a losing team. It looks like the Wild will win more this year. We didn't go at all last year because they stunk the place up. Better replace Backstrom
Took a young lady to her very first Wild game and she had an absolute blast. From the free mustache that was given away as we entered, to the 50/50 raffle, to getting a picture taken with Nordy, along with the Snoopy and Linus statues in the arena. And to seeing a Wild win. She had an unbelievably fun time.
Super seats, great game and a fun fundraiser for "men's health issues" (a.k.a. prostate and testicular cancer)
The cost of tickets are rediculous when the Wild team can not entertain you throughout the game/ I could never be an annual ticket holder for the quality of games the fans receive.
When will the Wild realize that they owe it to their fans to play hard every night. After all, it's the fans who are paying them!!!!! It's quite obvious that they decided to take the night off again. It'scertainly not hard to figure out why there are empty seats. The performance of the team was absolutely embarassing and and is a way to familiar happening. I am a hug Wild fan, but am really tired of traveling 150 miles, spending a night in a hotel, and paying a premium for tickets, just to see what they called hockey on Saturday night. I think the Wild owe me a couple of tickets for a future game as this is the 4th game in a row in which they have just packed it in. Unfortunately when you are at the game, you can not change the channel! I am really thinking about selling my three remaining games this year, anyone want tickets for February 12th?
The Rangers played and the Wild watched them. Very lethargic play by the hometown team. An expensive evening to see that kind of play.
The whole experince was POOR. The food was worse than microwavable food. The beer was OVERPRICED and luke warm. The team showed very little effort and seemed to be there just for the paycheck and NOT the fans that pay their salaries. I would NOT go to another game even if they gave me FREE tickets.
